1926359 tn?1331588139 I agree with GA...call the doctor for some help. Sleep deprivation is horrible and it's just going to keep wearing you down. Yes. It's very normal for some to have a sleep problem 7 days in. It's awful, I know...Go out and get the Alteril (I know they have it at Walgreen's). Stay up all day and do as much as you can physically. Then go through all the bed preparations early (6 or 7 pm).
1794093 tn?1357930759 I definitely understand the sleep deprivation. It really ***** :( I work overnights and have a terrible time trying to sleep during the morning/afternoons. Im also up every hour, or hour and a half, then still manage to work/do things around the house. I always thought the 2nd trimester was supposed to be the best, sure i dont feel sick anymore, but this has been brutal for sleep. Thats exciting about your ultrasound coming up, and really exciting that you are not finding out the gender!
Avatar f tn It is understandable that you have panic in your sleep, considering the fears you have with your retina etc. testing. Panic won't kill you, so that is not one thing to fear. The rashes are allergic reactions to the meds so you shouldn't worry about that either, since you stopped taking the meds. That doesn't mean the next one will give you a rash, so why don't you ask for a new one? There are many of them, and you just tried 3 - paxil, zoloft and another.
Avatar f tn As a teenager I went through a year of sleep deprivation. I got about six hours of sleep a night. I felt very sleepy every day and even had feelings of confusion and derealization. Did I cause any permanent damage to my brain? In addition, has damage caused by oxidative stress and free radicals irreversibly increased my cancer risk?
Avatar n tn Just make sure you talk to your DR about about helping you get back to getting restful sleep. I know how frustrating it can be to wake up every hour. And I hope you can find a way to stop that from happening.
Avatar m tn When you say "total lack of sleep", do you mean absolutely none and for how long? Is she using a stimulant to stay awake? I think it would have to be extreme and prolonged to cause a psychotic episode, but I don't have any experience with that. I do know 2 young women who had breakdowns after a prolonged hyper state. I can speak a bit to what it's like to have a sensory overload and get stuck in high gear.
534800 tn?1217167359 I have been living with a host of menopausal symptoms for over two years now (hot flashes, sweats, chronic insomnia, mood swings, migraines, exhaustion, you name it) and I feel the lack of sleep is severely affecting my overall mood at this point and causing great tension between myself and my family. I cannot seem to get my estrogen leveled out (try everything natural, no interest in drugs or hormones) and nothing seems to work right now.
Avatar f tn t fix the sore boobs and cramping lol, but works wonders for the sleep deprivation. I know Conner will sleep good later on because he gets circumsized today, so I can always nap when the kids do. My boobs on the other hand...KILL lol I am finally engorged, and I found that out when hubby accidently elbowed my boob in my sleep....tell ya what, I wasn't asleep long lol. I tried nursing, and he just isn't doing it.
459210 tn?1237381603 Hi pickel133, how are you? It seems you have had night terror, which might have woken you up. Stress due to hard and havoc day at college/work, going to bed late night, excessive caffeine, alcohol and smoking can be the cause. Stress either physical or mental does trigger them. Just relax and do morning-evening walk, stretches, have nutritious diet with lot of water. Having hot shower and listening to soft music before going to bed can be soothing to mind and body, which may be of some help.
Avatar f tn Sleep deprivation and sleep disorders can impact our health in a major way. Cognitive ability can be impacted and yes, I'm sure headaches can be triggered. I had not heard about a correlation with alzheimers. In reading about that, it's a little confusing. I guess many with alzheimers do have disturbed circadian rhythm. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4351409/ I don't know if it causes it but is more just part of it though.
Avatar f tn You are probably under too much of stress and need to relax. Do you remember of any factors that has triggered the sleep deprivation off late? Have you been under care of a physician and was Methadone prescribed to you? "Methadone is now primarily used today for the treatment of narcotic addiction. The effects of methadone last longer than those of morphine-based drugs.
Avatar f tn You sound to me like you are suffering the effects of sleep deprivation. Is there any way you could get yourself into a more regular schedule by any chance. If not, then you will just have to do what helps you the most. But I would talk tot he doctor about the Adderol. Are you officially diagnosed as ADHD or do you think you are ADHD b/c you cannot focus well? I need more clarification.
Avatar m tn I just had a heart monitor put on today at 2:30pm. I will let you know how it turns out because last night I woke up at about 2:30am. with palps and I wasn't having any dreams ot anything. I have a new CPAP mask and it was not leaking. I may need the pressure changed. The palps were not that bad and went away very quickly but it was enough to make me lose an hours sleep.
Avatar n tn Most dreaming happens towards the end of our sleep period, and with a high level of sleep deprivation, what little sleep you get could be deeper levels, as indicated by the time you spent in N2 and N3 sleep. You need to find an expert who can interpret your results. Sadly, some (most?) sleep "experts" are not sleep experts, they are sleep apnea experts who can do little more than diagnose sleep apnea and prescribe cpap machines. That was the results of my sleep study.
Avatar n tn Look up sleep deprivation and look at the mental illness it causes. These drugs don't let them sleep and he will continue to get worse. He could be having bad dreams just because of the medicine. If he's having bad dreams he could be awake while you are asleep and you don't know it. Cure the sleep problem. Don't put a label on your child. There are not 2 kinds of kids (a normal one and an adhd one). There is only one kind of kid and they are all human.
Avatar f tn But in adults it could be associated with stress, anxiety or other sleep disorders. Sleep deprivation and stress are known to aggravate these symptoms. If the symptoms are interfering with your sleep schedules consult your doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn t had much sleep because our A/C isn't working properly and I'm so damn hot!
