I have been to a neurologist and had an MRI of the head and neck and MS blood work from the Mayo, with nothing to explain the buzzing and shaking. Naturally, I have been told that it is probably all in my imagination (NOT!!). I am on low doese of ropinirole for restless leg syndrome and lorazepam at bedtime to help me cope with the claustrophobia of a CPAP mask, and no other regular medication. I am 64 and female and overweight.
This drug combination doesn't seem to work well with my own brain chemicals. BUT, everyone is different. If you have to go on one of these drugs, would you come back over to us and tell us how it's going? We miss you, Sam.
i couldn't sleep at all. the next night was ok, but the pain is still in my legs. how long does it take for the pain to subside?
Give the tonic water a try. If it doesn't work, nothing lost. If it does, it will keep you off another pill to take. You only need to drink it when its bothering you.
I am now on a very high dosage of Mirapex and also the Neupro Patch. This still does not work. Requip and all these other medications have not helped. The doctor now has me scheduled for physical therapy for my legs and also has scheduled for me to have a electromyogram and nerve conduction study. I don't know how this will help. But I kick all night, can't take naps, can't ride in a car, set at my desk or anything. I'm so tired of this awful disease.
lol how much were you taking and for how long? how did you do your taper and how far are you? I ask you all those questions coz it's gonna be easier to help you if we know a little more. The tapering process of benzos is hard but it's doable. Take it one day at a time. There's a great site where you can find tons of info http://www.benzo.org.uk/ And here you'll find an example of tapering schedule: http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/bzsched.htm#s5 Feel free to pm me anytime. Best of luck to you.
I got blocked and stars thru that word so many times as I was recovering! Because it does suck. Yes. It *****. Good to see we worked thru it after all this time. :D I just love you guys! Such honesty and kindness and willingness to help. It's such a blessing! I think this place attracts some of the most intelligent and caring people in the world. So gratifying. I haven't posted for a very long time ... but I will always keep this thread going.
Apparently kids grow out of this and the remainder that carry this disorder into their adult lives are autistic or mentally challenged, which I am neither. My doctor prescribed me clonazepam, which does not work and I'm not taking an addictive, benzodiazepine for the rest of my life. does anyone relate to my problem and if so what treatments have worked for you? I'm going to go insane!
My doctor does not seem concerned either, and tried to explain it from the standpoint of how the brain and breathing work together. It is both annoying and worrisome. It is almost like a hiccup only it's a breath.
