My guess is they kill the virus that may be hiding else where in our body's (besides blood) .. I'm at day 155 of 168. About a week ago I realized I am 4 ribavirin pills less of how many I should have taken. (Riba twice a day, 600 mg total 1200, Sovaldi once a day 400mg). I am right on schedule with the Sovaldi. Not sure how I did that I think it may have happened over the last 4 weeks. I think what I must have done, is I was paying so much attention to being sure I took the Sovaldi (1000 bucks a pill) that several times i didn't take the ribavirin when I had taken the Sovaldi.

My employer just announced we HAVE to work a 48 hour work week by law and they even got govt approval for a 60 hour work week...talk about timing...as im scedulded to start tx Oct....last tx i had no problem working...didn get tired at all....my queston is...does Boceprevir cause a person to drop to there knees?

Yesterday I started on 400 mg and am worried about relapse. What is the role of ribavirin and just how important is it to SVR? I am on course for 24 wk. treatment period. I have 9 more weeks.How likely am I to relapse if I stay on this lower dosage for two weeks while my Hb rises?

Keep in mind one thing, depending on the type of work you do staying on the job might be the best thing you can do. My first treatment I did my shots on Friday then thought I would just lay around all weekend. Well it ended up the worse thing I did as getting off ones butt and staying as active as one can helps a whole lot working out the Interferon side effects. The second time I treated I decided to take my shot on Sunday afternoon, by later in the evening I was having the sides from it.

I wouldn't exactly look at it that way. It isn't that ribavirin was designed to be taken with fat. I tend to think that the higher absorption of ribavirin when taken with high-fat foods is a value-added learned-later kind of thing. So there's how ribavirin is supposed to perform and then there's giving it's performance a boost. So I wouldn't exactly say that not taking it with fat was part of why SOC failed for you...

They are suppose to strip my membranes how does that work? Does it hurt.
