I hated that because it worked so well, but side effects were intolerable. This as of April 28th. Was started on Sinemet. Was told this does not work as well as Requip, but was less likely to have same side effects. Said he could add darvocet if necesary.Also take ativan 1mg 3 x daily since the brain surgery, and 1-2 at night for help with sleep. Every other sleep aid made above symptoms worse. Did tapered Requip withdrawal while adding the sinemet.
our father who is 78 is starting to hallucinate he was hospitalized about a month ago for pneumonia.he was also taking requip for his restless legs,the doc. took him off of requip because of side affects 4 days ago. we dont know if that could be the cause of his condition or not,he also had a cat scan of the brain, it was normal.he sees people that are not there, he realizes later that it is not real. he is getting depressed and scared,we dont know what to do anymore.

Tapered Requip withdrawal while adding Sinemet. Right now taking 1/2 afternoon and 1 at night.
Congrats on your clean time and I hope the RLS goes away but I would also try Requip!
Have been taking Lexapro 20 mg for about a year and very much improved. Unable to acieve orgasm even with erection. How long does thia side effect last after weaning off Lexapro with doctor's approval???
I can not connect any food to it or pattern. Does this sound like a Gastroenterology or Cardiologist issue? I take zoloft for depression & clonopin for anxiety (heart flutters) & requip at night for resless leg syndrome.

If you go CT from hydro 10/325 & 7.5, 10-15 a day, does it take longer for the restless legs & arms to stop, also the insomnia. This is what caused me to start taking them again, I could not handle, was scared I would have a heart attack from no sleep and the constant restless legs and arms!!! Please pray for me and my family. thank you.
I've got severe RLS 24/7 and have been taking Requip for the past several years, Mirapex before that. It's gotten worse lately so the doctor had me go cold turkey 5 days ago. He gave me Klonopin to take at night, but it doesn't do anything other than make me even more tired. I managed to get 6 hours sleep on day 4, but that's it for the whole week. The doctor says that I can't go back on the dopamines (Requip) since they have started augmentation (making the RLS worse).
I HAVE RLS FOR MANY YEARS AND I AM ON 3MG REQUIP AND 1 MG KLONPIN, THAT HAS BEEN HELPING UP TO NOW. I DISCOVERED THAT MY THYROID IS VERY LOW. COULD THAT BE WHY MY RLS IS GETTING WORSE. I REALLY NEED SOME SLEEP!!! WHAT OTHER MEDS ARE HELPFUL. I REALLY HAVE ALOT OF PAIN IN MY LEGS ALSO. THANKS FOR AMY HELP.

an addict has been feeding their brain with outside endorphins/then they stop/the brain freaks out but will adjust to make the endorphins again//the brain is a finely tuned organ...it sensed the outside supply...and quit or cut down on production/mainly dopamine
have u any knowledge of parkinsons? the jerks and twitches they have? parkinsons is caused from a lack of dopamine...
These fluctuations can be treated with alternating the dosing interval or dose or adding additional agents (such as requip, which is already added). I cannot tell you how to dose the medications, but I would suggest discussing these with your mother’s physician. She should keep a diary of when her symptoms occur in relationship to what medication was taken or will be taken.
they sent me for thyroid blood work. They took me off Requip, but I had another episode (so they ruled that out) I am looking at some blood work results & comparing to last years (not available further back). I understand most are "within" the range, but some are borderline. Could you please look at them and tell me what you think? Is there any pattern in the items changing, such as related to hormones, liver, thyroid, etc?
