Avatar f tn I was put on Ramipril 5mg as my BP was high. Wondering how long it takes to work. My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.
544430 tn?1283712658 I am not familiar with Ramipril, so, unfortunately, can't speak to that. I've read posts here where people take a specific type of levothyroxine and have side effects from the dyes in the pill, so that's a possibility. However, I think further work up is probably warranted.
Avatar m tn Still no proper cure. She takes insulin, Cresto and pressure medication Ramipril. She does annual checkup with Cardiologist too. Please advice.
Avatar m tn I am sorry to tell you this but a Heart Attack always means that a part of the cardiac muscle has death (otherwise there is not a HA). That means that depending on how big the HA was( affected area) and how long it took to restore the coronary circulation the permanent lost of EF can be more or less. Normally there are some chance of recovery until 1 year of the HA, although the biggest part it is usually in the first 3 - 6 months.
Avatar f tn 5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed? please help me on that, i will be grateful...thank you.
Avatar n tn 5 mg per day (ramipril). Over last two years the dose was reduced to 5 mg per day cosidering my BP was managed below 105/70 with this dose. Below 105/70 I feel uncomfortable. Now I am finding even with this dose my BP remains around 100/70. May need to reduce further. Is ACE-I prescribed only to control BP or does it have any other role in heart treatment? If so, is reducing the ACE-I OK, considering my low EF?? Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn I am confused by the drug RAMIPRIL. The leaflet in box and details in British Formulary list WEIGHT LOSS as a side effect (I have lost 6 kilos). On the Internet there are many letters regarding weight gain but nothing about weeight loss. Why is this?
Avatar f tn My cardiologist put me on ramipril a few wks back and after 10 days ran blood tests whic came back normal. this morning I woke up with diarriah and some serious kidney pain on the right side.It doesn't hurt when I urinate or have a bowel movement although certain body movements cause it to occur. My question is can this be caused by ramipril along with my lasix and potassium with a delayed reaction or buildup?
Avatar f tn He was discovered to have LVEF during an echocardiogram performed to determine whether he had a bicuspid valve (which he does not) because it runs in the family. Cardiologists have since put him on BP meds to address what they are calling heart failure, even though he doesn't feel like he has heart failure. He's considered himself to be in good health (maybe slightly overweight until recently) but now we're wondering. Can you have a weak heart and absolutely no symptoms?
Avatar n tn Not all medications work the same for everybody but this is my saving grace. I understand Ramipril has a beneficial side effect of strengthening the interior walls of veins and arteries as well. If your BP is over 140 on a fairly regular basis you should seek treatment immediately or you are causing yourself escalating damage that may not show up right away, but can cause you untold problems in the future. I hope this helps you make the right decision sir.
1020296 tn?1251475359 doctor prescribed some medicines which includes baclofen, ramipril, clopidogrel, amolodipine , atenolol, atorvastatin and escitolopram. after taking medicines her pulse rate has gone to 45-50 range and blood pressure is still 160/120. I'd like to ask why pulse rate is going low..is it due to side effect of medicines..
Avatar n tn He has been put on medication which consists of CORTISONES, RAMIPRIL, LASIX and many other medications to reduce the protein, cholesterol, blood pressure etc and some Magnesium for his cramps. He has blood and urine tests every month which so far are showing a small sign of improvement. He too was told that he could eat anything as it makes no difference, but he does try to avoid red meat.
Avatar f tn I have kidney failure (Gfr generally between 40 and 50 but recently closer to 40), and also crohns which has been in remission for years but has recently been shown to be very active. My problem is for about 12 months now I have been prescribed ramipril for my kidneys and high blood pressure, but in the last few months and weeks (it seems to me since crohns has become active) it is making me feel absolutely terrible.
Avatar f tn I take ramipril for my blood pressure.
Avatar f tn 4, the nexrt test was 5 he was okay about it, four weeks ago was put back on high blood pressure tablets but prior to starting them they carried out another Kidney blood test and four weeks later l was told bp down to 134/84 on 5mg ramipril but the blood test four weeks ago was high again and has to be repeated.
Avatar m tn Taking Ramipril In morning for several years. Recently started taking Laxido & banana (for breakfast). About the same time started coughing frequently but intermittently & became slightly breathless when walking. 2 days ago doctor called Emergency as I had persistent chest pain & burping. No heart attack but abnormal ecg, which however improved after being in A&E for several hours. Wondering if Ramipril + laxido + banana too much potassium?
907968 tn?1292622204 How does a Cardiologist(?) know what dose to start you on? What are the criteria? Alpha blocker? Beta blocker? Ace inhibitor? others,..?

976897 tn?1379167602 My Ramipril is hardly working now, it looks as though I'm becoming immune to its effects. My current BP is around 145/105 and sometimes higher. Is there a natural substance which helps with BP that anyone knows of? Or, do I need to ask the Doctor to change me to another med?
Avatar m tn trace mitral and tricuspid inefficiency, EF 53%, borderline global hypokinesis (my left ventricular motion is borderline reduced, but structurally normal). Overall, the doctor said I was fine but hypertensive, so he put me on 10mg of Ramipril for my BP. Recently, I've had continued issues with anxiety during exercise and palpitations. So I was told to come in for another stress test. I took it and they saw ST depressions.
Avatar f tn They are suppose to strip my membranes how does that work? Does it hurt.
