How does nasonex work

Common Questions and Answers about How does nasonex work

nasonex

Avatar n tn Nasonex does have a steroid in it, but isn't quite as bad (supposedly) because it's inhaled rather than a pill. But there are no longterm studies as to how it affects one's heart rhythm, etc. My ear/nose/throat doctor told me not to use antihistamines, allergy meds like Allegra or Zyrtec, or decongestants as they all can cause heart rhythm problems. He said to only use saline nasal spray (which didn't stop my ongoing allergy and sinus problems).
29837 tn?1414534648 Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
Avatar n tn So I got a hold of my doctor on the phone and I told her how when I took the nasonex the ringing got real loud and everything. She said I dont have to take it. Just to stick with the antibiotics. If I'm not better by monday which its friday night right now she is going to send me to ENT specialist. But my question is should I go back to taking the nasonex?
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been taking Nasonex for 5 months now and starting 10 days ago, I started experiencing weird sensation in the left area of my chest, it would only happen 3 to 6 times a day and it would feel like someone just tapped the someone of my chest with a finger or two, after 3 or 4 days experiencing this, I just completly stopped using Nasonex and have been off Nasonex for 5 days and 11 hours now.

Avatar n tn I've had such a tough time with sinus headaches, allergies (watery eyes, plugged ears and tinnitus) and fatigue that I finally went to an ear-nost-throat doctor last week. He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on.
531684 tn?1216745984 t even get to the end of the complaints on the internet about nose bleeds from nasonex! Well, my nose bleeds started with nasonex, the first time around was in the '90's, and no one seemed to know then that the nose bleeds were a side effect, although I kept having them and realized then that they occurred after using nasonex. Later, around 2007, I was told by a doctor, that it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it again, that it was actually a good drug.
Avatar f tn ve heard that a rigorous sweat helps a great deal, I stay in shape but will work extra hard to work up a hard sweat and see if that does anything. I feel your desperation and wish you all the best of luck for a swift and painless recovery!
Avatar f tn think I must be going crazy. After having throat/ear issues for over a month, I went to the doctor 10 days ago. He said I had a ton of fluid behind my ears and there was inflammation. He also said that my right ear drum looked really dull. He thinks my issues are being caused by a sinus infection. I've been taking Nasonex and antibiotics for 11 days and am still having problems. Here is where I think it gets weird. My ear bothers me when I go outside even for just a few minutes.
Avatar n tn Everything that the doctor already suggested does help, but I still have to use allergy medicine. I use Benadryl and Nasonex. Nasonex, because it is fragrance-free. Flonase isn't fragrance-free and I could taste that one going down the back of my throat through the nasal passages connecting to the throat. That affected me negatively in other ways, too. I'm glad my doctor changed my prescription to Nasonex.
Avatar f tn I can however use just a steroid inhaler along with the Nasonex nose spray, it seemed to work very well for me. Should I try staying with this or try Singular. I thought I read up on Singular as causing liver issues. What do you think would be the safest way to go? Or the best? I love breathing better !!
Avatar m tn My name is Kimberly, I am 40 years old. About 7 years ago I was treated with Nasonex in conjunction with a cpap machine for my sleep apnea. After that every time I bent over water would pour out of one side of nose. At first I thought it was blood, but it was the exact consitency of water. I stooped using the nasonex and the cpap ueats ago. This has happened off and on for years.About 6 months ago I noticed the drip was back, as well as occasional water out of my ears.
Avatar f tn It is very uncomfortable. Retasis does the same thing. The Dr. tells me my dryness is between 3 and 4. Ocassionally my left eye swells and is painful. On thoses days I want to patch my eye to keep the light out. Is there anything else I can do to help with the dryness. She suggested Nasonex, which opens my sinus up and I feel like I'm drowing which they do without the medicine. Please advise. Thank you.
Avatar m tn But afterwards, I had methylprednisolone and momethasone/nasonex as prescribed by my doctor. I have read in the internet that both are corticosteroid and acts like immunosuppresant? I will only take methylprednisolone 16 mg twice a day for 5 days only and momethasone/nasonex (500 mcg/g) two sprays a day for 1 month. I am worrying that it may affect my hiv test result in my 6th month? can they delay antibodies to show up or something?
Avatar n tn I tried reducing sodium intake and this did not work. Diuretics did not work. Only two things over the past year and a half have somewhat worked. I tried using Nasonex and it worked great for about 4 days. The fluid seemed to drain out and my nasal bridge narrowed. Then i threw up one morning and the Nasonex hasn't worked since. Nasal corticosteroids are ineffective. I took antihistamines and that didn't work either.
Avatar f tn The antibiotics would all work for a couple weeks and then he would get the runny nose again. Another said he thinks he has chronic rhinisitis. He is now on Nasonex but that doesn't seem to be helping. I keep reading about dairy intolerances and how a runny nose can be a symptom. However, the allergist dismissed this idea and said it isn't likely. Other than that he is totally fine...happy baby with no other medical issues. I am concerned that the doctors are missing something.
Avatar m tn I was paying $135 or so for Nasonex, which I thought was ridiculously expensive at the time. When Flonase became an OTC product, I thought Nasonex would become cheaper. That's what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun.
Avatar f tn They are suppose to strip my membranes how does that work? Does it hurt.
Avatar f tn m wondering if anyone can point me to a thread where it explains exactly how one starts on suboxone, how it works, and how long you are on it for? Any info would be so greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
5506662 tn?1369334325 I have 5 days till my due date and baby doesnt seem to want to come any time soon. The doctor said is I went to 41 weeks they would probably induce me. How exactly does that work? I thought it was just some kind of medicine they gave you through an IV but a friend said something about them sticking a needle up there.
