how does humira work

Well, narcotics work wonderfully for the pain, however you can't live life being on narcotics all the time. How would you work/drive/care for your children if your head is clouded by narcotics? I was like you - I had awful pain, started Humira and within a few months felt completely better. I am still on Humira and haven't had any flare ups (fingers crossed so that I don't jinx it) for two years.

i have been taking humira for 4 months it makes me feel REALLY bad for about 3 to 5 days. i will have headaches, chills, weakness in my intire body. i hurt all over. my joints are toture rifht now. but there was one time a doc had me take dilaudid during a injection week. WOW i felt good. and i had hoped this time would be good to. but WRONG i have struggled so bad from the shot. just like all the times b4. so what made that one time better was dilaudid.

t like reading about the side effects and things that can happen when on that drug. Does anyone have any experience with this drug (Humira)? I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

The competition does sell versions of it (Remicade and Humira) but those are just as costly. Humira actually would cost me more. I was hoping there was a different class of medications outside those 3 that can do the same job for much less.. Thank you for replying.

I understand that Humira fights TNFa which causes inflammation. Does reducing the inflammation stop or seriously slow the progression of this disease? I am not in any pain and I only have stiffness in my lumbar region at this time (64 year old M, aware of stiffness at least 2-3 years but thought it was a muscular issue). I am concerned about the potential serious side effects of this medication and the risk/reward for me.

My husband missed his dose of Humira by 24 hours a week ago. He is now vomiting regularly like he did prior to his diagnosis. Is this normal with a missed dose? He has been on Humira since September.

I want to know if reducing the immnue system or knocking it out ala Humira leads to herpes outbreaks. And does Aclyvoir help stave off these outbreaks. I guess I will have to gamble and see and let you know the results later. But I am also taking Aclyvoir. If you had chicken pox as a child then the herpes is already in your system. If you have never been sexually infected you probably won't get it.

This is first time something like that has happened to me since I had 3 prior surgeries. The only difference is that I am taking Humira for past 5 months and was told not to take the injection before surgery. Now I cannot get straight answers from Dr's on how this inflammation formed so quickly after surgery.

I have been treated for rheumatoid arthritis with Humira for 7 months including a combination of Humira and methotrexate for the past 2 months. I am now on Mezavant XL 4800mg and weekly Humira injections for 6 month. At first Humira worked completely, but for the last 3 month I now have got again explosive Diarrhoea and bleeding.

About 6 months ago he was diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritis after having his hands and body start crippling his abailities in daily living, and began taking Humira as treatment. Recently he has decided that we can no longer be intimate and we need to separate.
