About two months ago my fingernail developed a black mark near the nailbed. It has since continued up toward the top of the nail while changing brownish now puple with the uppermost tip is turning white. I have an appointment in October.It doesn't hurt and does not appear to look fungal according to my doctor. Is October to long to wait? I read that melanoma can develop under the nail.
Hi I just want to know what can cause some or all of these combined symptoms, Hair thinning, lost of appetite, a few dark toenails but not all of them, 1 fingernail half light pink half light brown with vertical lines no ridges, wart on ball of both feet and lately some lost of taste (I'm thinking due to thin white film on tongue) I was a Severe smoker until recently when I stopped.
one of them had the same width as the others, but was about three times as long. i was able to remove two of them with my fingernail, they looked like little black pepper flakes. i was able to get most of the long one, but a cant get the remaining particle, and the fourth one seemed to be imbedded. the pthers easily popped out with a little jostling.
Hi, my doctor had a look at my toe today, he thinks that some of it does look like a bruise but there is a darker bit that is closer to the base of the nail which he thinks may be a mole, so I have been referred to a dermatologist. So will be getting an appointment in the next couple of weeks. I mentioned the possibility that it could be diabetes as Caryopteris suggested as my dad has diabetes, but he didn't think it was that.
No apparent necrosis, but the fingernail has separated and also *appears* to be infected with fungus. She has had IV antibiotics twice as well as antibiotic and antifungal pills, and it was non-responsive to the drugs. Tested negative for MRSA. Finger hurts and is pinkish-red. You can say what you want but these are things I am 99% sure are burrowed into the skin. This is why they stop itching. The itching stops/starts because something like a chigger is reacting. I am experimenting with different salves including mustard. These things are nasty though and reactive. I would not suggest it but in a few days if nothing changes I will dig them out with my fingernail. My skin will heal even with a large hole in it and these are not healing what so ever.
