Does Diovan have a beneficial effect for patients with glaucoma? if Yes how does it help the symptoms of glaucoma?

my dad had a triple bypass last apr 21. last saturday, jul 4/2009 he started on diovan 160/12.5 (from corvesy+) and since Sat he's been experiencing chest pains that is not going away. is this a side effect? is he allergic to the this new med he's taking or is this angina? should he get himself to an ER?

I am also taking diovan 80.12.5 once a day. I would like to get off this medication as it is making me very sluggish and tired all the time. How do I wean off this medicine as I am only taking it for one month.

I have high blood pressure and have been on medication for about 2 years now. I started taking Diovan 40 mg about 3 years ago, but my doctor thought it wasn't working so he increased it to 160 mg. After a while, I started feeling dizzy or light headed and We decided to cut down diovan to 80 mg. the dizziness went away for a few monts then it came back and was getting worse. I have a @uestion please : After 6years on Toprol xl and Diovan , my Doctor switched me to another medication - verapamill and maxide - iv taken these before and had problems with them both !! fact is the verapamill ccb caused palpatations. and I was put on a beta blocker from that point on.. as to stop the palps and control the b.p. / the Toprol xl and diovan both lowered b.p well and stopped the palps for me.. but iv been living life in pain and suffering for 6years now..

I take plavix, lipitor, toprol-xl & diovan. Have been taking them for 2 1/2 years after stent implantation. Any ideas on how long you should be left on each of these..or are they classified as 'health maintenance'. No real side effects to speak of.

other medications include coreg 25mg 2/day, procardia 60mg 2/day, diovan/hctz 160/25mg, clonidine .2mg 2/day, zocor 40mg, and anxiety meds (imagine that). two weeks ago, my cardiologist added procardia 30mg/as needed for controlling bp in midafternoon. i spend too much time with meds . is there anything i'm missing? i feel like my heart is strong and still have a lot to do in life. i know it's going to be a bumpy ride...but does it level off?

I am taking 160 mg Diovan for high blood pressure, as well as 20 mg Levostatin for high cholesterol. I believe that I have ed caused by the Diovan. Is it safe to take ed drugs as well?

Unfortunately your question was accidentally posted on the bird forum. I didn't notice your question posted on the heart disease forum which may be the best place to ask. Both medications are angiotensin II receptor antagonists which will relax the blood vessels and lower BP. As to which will work best for you, that's up to your cardiologist. It's not unusual to try one medication to manage CHF only to find it's not doing as well as expected, then try another med.

5 They give me a foggy head all day, Scalp tingle (From Labetholol) unable to concentrate, fatigue and of course the numerous toilet trips.It does settle, but it does not completely disappear. Some people find taking meds at night etc helps?

I'm a 64 yrs. old woman who used to take Diovan 320 mg. & Toprol 50 mg. for my B.P. My B.P. readings was okay but my Doctor discontinued the Toprol because my heart rate usually on the 40's. I am currently taking Norvasc 5mg. with the Diovan 320 mg. So far, my B.P. readings is very good, 110/70. But eversince I started the Norvasc, my left leg is swelling and it is becoming worst. I'd like to ask my Doctor to discontinue the Norvasc.

i have a history of mitral valve stenosis - rheumatic fever in childhood -- no changes in EKG, echo, carotid doplers MRI, etc - should i be concerned regarding nocturnal tachycardia -- am on toprol twice a day, diovan, and simvastatin, premarin, metroprolol, saw cardiologist in Dec -- diovan was added because bp was slightly elevated -- just started the night tachycardia -- wakes me up and then I fall right back to sleep before I can even check my pulse rate -- should I contact him?

August of last year I was put on Tricor and added Diovan 160 in Novemeber, and have always been taking 1000mg of metformin twice a day. Since November my blood sugar has become unmanagable (fasting in 150+ range). Recently I stopped taking Diovan, because I noticed that it appeared that this whole thing started after i took Diovan. I tested my blood sugar and my mornings results for two days were in the 130s and went up to 150 again, so I went back on Diovan per my doctor's insistence.

They are suppose to strip my membranes how does that work? Does it hurt.
