1532707 tn?1312155924 My work was having open enrollment for insurance and i was eligible. I wanted to sign up for their dental plan since i need it and can afford it again. I assumed it was being taken care of since i filled out the form and turned it in the same day. I have been patiently awaiting the cards in the mail but nothing!.... I ask my boss today what happened and she says she turned the paper work in1 day late and missed the deadline. Now i have to wait a whole 'nother year to get insurance?
Avatar n tn if you are not prone to tooth decay, and if you have not had alot of dental work in the past (especially crown and brige work, root canals, or gum surgery) then having 2 or 4 bitewing (cavity detecting xrays as you call them) once per year should suffice. A full set of films need only be taken once every 3-5 years, depending on the patient. And I have to be frank with you.
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.

485259 tn?1519047026 Hi J, How was your visit to the dentist? Did you end up witha flare up? Maybe you have seen my last post about this same issue. In Nov. (2009) I had a simple filling donw and was left with 6 weeks of intense pain. I still need more work down on that tooth and I am dreading the aftermath of pain. WHAT I found out is to ask for NO EPI withthe novacane injection, EPT is a vaso constricter and can canue/trigger a pain recponce for TN.
Avatar f tn Hey Sarah I too am a college student looking for health insurance, I was curios to know what you chose and what worked for you. Also did you add dental to your health insurance, I cant find many quotes with both to know how much together they would cost.

946207 tn?1246134385 ok you cant work, get state aid, and the dental clinic wont cover the oral surgery fine there is one remaining solution....PULL THEM. it might not be pretty but it will eliminate the infection. dental clinics usually will cover extractions and even if they dont the cost is cheap compared to other solutions. you have some form of income since you arent able to collect aid and you can afford internet so most regular dentists either accept payment plans of care credit. good luck.
1243333 tn?1296446902 I am going to need extensive dental work in the next year due to extensive dental decay my fault, the problem is I am on plavix and 325mg of aspirin due to extensive CAD plus several other Meds for high Blood pressure, how would a dentist approach this or would they or do I have to find a specialist in the dental field?
Avatar n tn I am a resident of NY and I work in NY too. My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar f tn I work dialysis as a CMA so 10-14 hours a day. It *****. I have changed to CROCS work shoes, not super attractive, but my feet swell a lot less!
Avatar f tn So the dentist is telling him that he needs immediate dental work done. He needs 9 extractions, 4 root canals and 4 or 6 i cant remember bone graphs done. its a 4 hour procedure and is going to cost 6000 dollars! AH we do not have any insurance. They wont even consider dentures until he has this work done. if this is so life threatening why isn't he being put in hospital so OHIP can pay. To top this off, like I said its 4 hour work and he's not even being put to sleep.
Avatar n tn I have been to a couple of dentists last year and they all said all of my teeth need pulled. But right now my dental insurance is not great and i dont have 4,ooo dollars. So my teeth have decayed more and here lately when i first wake up in the mornings i get stomach pains for about an hour or two. So i was wondering if the tooth decay can drain toxins down into my stomach.
Avatar f tn I have healrh, dental and vision insurance through work but I was still approved for Medicaid. It goes by income, not current coverage so that's expecially helpful if you're like me and are having a really hard time working because of fatigue and such. They will access or request your pay stubs to go off of what you are really making in a pay period.
Avatar f tn Can I get dental work done now? I possibly may need a crown. I have read that the txt cld cause dental problems and that you cannot have dental work done while on txt. Is it safe to get it done this close to starting? I am just afraid it will get worse if I don't. thanks.
Avatar n tn I am just getting my own dental insurance next month, so I believe I would have to wait a year to see a periodontist with this particular insurance. If you have any suggestions on how to keep my gums as healthy as possible, so that I can avoid more problems, please let me know. Thanks so much.
Avatar n tn Valium is your friend for dental visits. As for insurance, see if there is a dental program at a nearby college. I got some of my best teeth cleanings done at schools, where they are very very gentle and concerned about hurting you. I recently lost ground on my phobia and cancelled two teeth cleanings with my dentist. I had two teeth removed by an oral surgeon who did not take me seriously about being completely sedated for the extraction.
Avatar n tn Not sure how I feel about this. I have been on Subs for a few months. I had a toothache start 2 days ago........may be turning into an absess. I called my dentist and they are getting me in at 5 tomorrow night. I am nervous as heck because dental pain is the worst pain in the world and I don't know how I am going to handle it. I cannot take any pain killers because I am on the Sub. I am so worried that I am going to have to deal with some excrutiating pain because of being on the Sub.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I am going to see a TMJ specialist for the first time on Friday. I called my insurance company to check on coverage, they do cover the consultation but there was a long list of treatments they won't cover if they are found to be dental in nature. Does anyone know how a dr might find the TMJ issues medical in nature?
