Avatar n tn I noticed over spring break a small amount of acne (she had been acne free for years). Then when she came home in May the acne started getting worse. She upped her adderall because of training/games and a new job. So she was basically taking it almost every day. Her face broke out horribly. Worse it has ever been. I took her to two dermatologists. Nothing was helping. It was steadily getting worse.
Avatar m tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be due to Acne keloidalis nuchae. It occurs when hairs on the back of the head and neck grow into the skin, become inflamed, and cause scar tissue. These ingrown hairs usually occur following a short haircut on the back of the head and nape of the neck. Treatment of AKN includes suppression of the inflammation with antibiotics and steroid gels or intralesional steroid injections.

Avatar m tn OK, I made a stupid mistake of letting someone pick my back acne who had been picking her own and I did see some blood. I know she probably had some on her fingernails while picking mine. Mine definitely bled. This was 2 weeks ago. I recently found out that she is Hep C positive. I know how stupid the whole situation sounds, but I realize there is a chance of transmission. My concern is, HOW MUCH of a chance is there that transmission can occur with this situation.

Avatar n tn No it's not acne, it does not have a head or a bump and the clear liquid that comes out once in a while is not something from acne its almost like a blister liquid but no bump or head, plus there is only about 4 of them that come out. I just am not sure what treatments I should look into or what this is.
Avatar f tn So, I had to fill out a questionaire with a million questions before I see an RE at the end of the month. One of the questions was about acne, and whether I have it or not. What does having acne mean? (I've heard getting acne can be a sign of something, I just can't remember what) Lately, I've been having so many breakouts, and today noticed I had some back acne. Gross! I never had acne before.
Avatar m tn - I have (severe) acne on my back and chest and folliculitis on my legs. - The time between one client coming into the massage room and another one going in is a matter of minutes. - Bed sheets and towels may or may not be changed between sessions. - All massage therapist are chinese and the clients are mainly from Asia. - The area where I have acne and folloculitis is vigorously massaged, sometimes with oil and sometimes without.
Avatar f tn the other treatments for acne have all be exhausted so says the dermatologist. She's been on anti biotics, every cream, lotion, face wash ect. and nothing helped. EXCEPT for the ortho tri cyclen. The mini pill does nothing for her acne and that's why she wanted to go back on it. HOWEVER; I believe we've found a solution until her body can get used to this pill. I bought her those "sea bands" for nausea. She put them on both wrists and 10 min.
Avatar m tn But you also describe what might be some other conditions. Acne and seboric dermatitis can also occur with it. Plus you might have an infection; I once had a staph infection on my nose. Infections on the face are serious. Rosacea can also affect the eyes (ocular rosacea), so a visit to your family doctor can help you coordinate the care.
Avatar f tn You can try the proactive body wash. It really does work I've never had back acne but when i was younger i had face acne. My mom bought me the proactive and it cleared up. Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be folliculitis. Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The condition may occur anywhere on the skin.It starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. Pls keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics.
467959 tn?1207086251 7 Since December 2007 I started breaking out with acne on my cheeks. I never had a problem before with acne. I am also suffering from hair loss (like many of you out there). According to my dr. this should have stopped by now. At my last dr's appt in Feb 08, I asked him about the acne and hair loss, his answer was, "I really don't know what to say about that." I know there is something out there that can be done. Does any one have ANY suggestions?
Avatar f tn Hello, It can be due to a small sebaceous cyst. A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac occurring just under the skin which contains a "pasty" or "cheesy" looking substance called keratin. They may occur anywhere on body but scalp, ears, back, face, and upper arm, are common sites for sebaceous cysts.
Avatar n tn Hi, You may have oily skin on the buttocks which makes it acne-prone. Acne vulgaris (commonly called acne) is a skin disease caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland). Enlargement of sebaceous glands and an increase in sebum production occur with increased androgen (DHEA-S), coomon in adolescence. Widely available OTC bactericidal products containing benzoyl peroxide may be used in mild to moderate acne.
