Avatar f tn s exactly what I have thought - that it should be possible to stay healthy if you have a balanced diet and avoiding healthy parts could cause the harm. It is not healthy to eat meat every day perhaps. But a reasonalbe portion 1-2 times a week should not be a tradegy. I just can mention that during 10 months of the diet I have noticed that my menstruation was "smaller", shorter and nearly painless.

12832842 tn?1448728801 It takes awhile to accept MS it is a big change. It took me a year at least. I even went for a second opinion and he said yep MS. Diet and exercise are good but because MS is neurological they can't stop it. That said I do both. I started exercise and a balanced diet after diagnosis because it was something I could do. With MS you can have other conditions such as perimenopause. Exercise and diet help that some what. I had no side effects on Copaxone.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm hoping to loose 3lb a week, By eating healthy and going to the gym. How many calories should I be eating a day?? I've read places to loose 1lb a week you should decrease your intake by 500 calories a day. I put my idea weight on this app and it's telling me to eat under 600 calories which I know is not correct.
Avatar f tn Hi, A lower calorie balanced diet is very effective for weight loss. A low carb diet causes the body to go into Ketosis whereby the body uses its fat as a source of energy. Also when you are in ketosis your body feels less hungry. This all sounds good except that this can also lead to kidney issues (even failure), osteoporosis, and kidney stones. Stay balanced and control your calories and you'll lose weight and avoid the side effects. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Hi, How are you? Migraine can be triggered with certain foods as well as part of the cure. Foods rich in tyramine, caffeine, preservatives, and chocolate are the suspect component of many foods that are considered migraine triggers. Tyramine is prevalent in aged or preserved foods and smoked meats. On the other hand, a nutritious diet can also be a part of the cure. Skipping meals and fasting can trigger migraines or worsen their symptoms.

Avatar m tn Yes, bcuz if I tried more how would I know which one caused the issue....I still try to watch what I eat and how much each week to try and keep things balanced that way I do not need the meds.... I do tend to need the GERD meds when my IBS flares they seem to go hand in hand, but if I can keep each calm I can go with out meds for long periods of time. and that is with watching my diet as well.
Avatar f tn why are you supposed to eat just 435 cal a day? Perhaps you should try to make a more sustainable diet, even if the results take a little longer. I don't think that 435 cal a day is healthy, but I'm no expert...

Avatar f tn I wouldn't necessarily worry about how many calories he is eating unless he is under the care of a physician regarding his diet. I'd suggest the young man eat a very balanced diet and drink plenty of water. The quality of food I believe is key. Good fruits, vegetables, nuts, lean meats are all essential in regular amounts. Obviously exercise is essential. If he is exercising more, he'll probably naturally change his eating habits.
Avatar m tn In the diabetes world a balanced diet does not include a sweet tooth. Eating sugary foods will elevate your blood sugar [glucose] then cause a sugar crash resulting in extreme fatigue, among other things. Also, what you may consider a "balanced diet" may not be in our eyes. More information [what you eat for every meal] is needed to conclude if it is indeed balanced. If you can obtain a home A1c test meter, I suggest you get one and follow the provided instructions.
1729448 tn?1342094737 Hi, I'm just curious about food. You see, I'm 17 and my moms on a fixed income. I LOVE fruits and vegetables, but they're expensive. My mom does her best to buy them for me, but it's hard as it is. I know they're good for you too. I try to eat a balanced diet, but that's hard when stuffs so expensive, and I don't have a huge appetite. So my thoughts are, what kinds of fruits/vegetables have the biggest variety/most vitamins etc that are good for you?
