Avatar f tn I've been on yasmine now for about 9 months. Very shortly after starting it my breasts went up a good cup size, and I noticed increased tenderness occassionally. For the past week, I my breasts have been SOOO sore! And my nipples are killing me! I was bra shopping yesterday and by the time I took the fifth one off my breasts were in so much pain it was really weird (not to mention that I was overflowing a little from my usual size now...).
Avatar f tn SO they gave me Ocella, the generic of Yasmine....for the first time I had side effects. On Yasmine, I had not side effects that bothered me enough to take into account. All I know is after years of riding the roller coaster of PMDD /Hairloss/body hair growth, I felt like the sun came back up on Yasmine. My nurse changed me to Yaz in July. As I write this I about to switch back to Yasmine and the pharmarcy has lost my presciption..so I am cying!
Avatar f tn Plus, I tolerated Yasmine well in the past. But, as far as I can research, Yasmine is not a first-line choice for endometriosis. Anyway, what have you been told and what is your experience thus far? Thanks.
Avatar f tn ve been extremely bloated, which is weird because yasmine is meant to prevent water retention and has always helped me with that in the past. I have been having ridiculous cravings that are really intense, i've been really crampy pretty much everyday, which until now hasnt been a problem since my laparoscopy in march, and yesterday and today i've been getting random spells of nausea. and my boobs hurt and feel pretty swollen.

Avatar f tn Usually if someone is on birthcontrol pills, you will require more thyroid medication. Estrogen interferes with the binding of the thyroid medication. Just try to take the lowest dosage possible of birth control. If your thyroid is regulated properly, your pms should get much better if that is an issue. I haven't heard many good things about Yaz or Yasmine....my doctor wanted me on Yasmine until I said no way. I am now on low dose microgestin.....
Avatar f tn I've been taking birth control for about four years, maybe take a few months. I'd do your research and talk it over with your doctor. I can't remember if my friend was on Yaz or Yasmine (both are in commercials, so it's hard to remember), and she had some pretty scary stuff happen after getting off it.

Avatar f tn I stopped taking yasmine in march of 2007, I got my BFP in july of 2007. My cylce was about 35 days, still pretty irregular due to stopping my pills. I was taking yasmine for about 3 years before I got pregnant. I'm back on it now and am planning on stopping it around feb. of 2010, to try for a second baby. Good luck...I hope you get your BFP soon :).
Avatar n tn You should talk to your doctor about switching the pills because Yaz and Yasmine have a reputation of having even worse side effects. They go such extent that they can endanger lives. Here is a site with some information on that if you are curious http://www.onlinelawyersource.
Avatar m tn y girlfriend is 21 years old and has been on Yasmine since she was in middle school. Over the past three weeks she has irregularly taken her BC pill. She took two weeks worth in three weeks and took the pill at random (Random day and random time of day). She has NEVER done this with her birth control, usually consistent on taking it every day. Starting around 3 weeks ago, we had unprotected sex in which I ejaculated inside of her. She was having no signs of anything until now.
Avatar f tn I took the second opinion from another Gyne at Welcare Hospital but she told us that this is normal and nothing wrong in it. Yasmine bacically reduce the duration of period and make the blood flow lesser.

473222 tn?1214439873 For any woman taking yasmin or other bcp for skin problems etc, please consider that if you are having those problems, then it is because you have a hormonal imbalance. It will not be fixed by adding in a hormone (Artificial estrogen or progestegin) that is completely different to your own. It is much easier fixed by using a natural progesterone cream to increase the bodies level naturally. Diet and avoidance of food that you are intolerant to can also help immensely.

Avatar f tn I am on yasmine. I missed the first 2 pills in week 1 of my pill pack and then the 5th pill as well. For some reason I didn't give it much thought and my bf and I had unprotected sex. I am worried that I could/did ovulate. How likely is it? Should I be really concerned?
Avatar f tn Also, I have since discovered that this may have developed after taking the pill Yaz and Yasmine. We are currently investigating this possibility. Check out symptoms of SOD and if you see any similarities. Many Dr.s do not even know about this, so it rather hard to have someone Dx. The ERCP with manometry is what I have had to help with this. BTW my symptoms are pain in side under rib (where gallbladder was), nausea and sometimes "attacks".

Avatar f tn Some of those symptoms (like weight gain, headaches, and no period) will happen due to PCOS messing with your hormone regulation. I had those three symptoms during the time between going off the pill and being diagnosed and treated for PCOS. Without treatment for my PCOS, I don't think I would have had a period on my own. I went 7 months without a period because of PCOS.
