605458 tn?1539228808 I mean, the goal is always to avoid surgery when surgery can be avoided, but if I cannot get this hormone shot therapy, hysterectomy with salpingo oopherectomy is my other alternative. I am 39. I have never had children and have never wanted to have children and have no desire to have children in the future. While I am a bit attached to my body parts and thing surgery would by not fun, why not just go for it and get done with and not have to worry about the stupid endometriosis again?
Avatar f tn A couple of members here, including myself, watched Robin McGraw yesterday speak about bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Did you know that women as young as their teens can have hormonal imbalances ? And that you can show signs of perimenopause in your 20s... feel horrible and be misdiagnosed with chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia ? And yet the medical field has failed us again on this other issue.
Avatar f tn I am 74 years old and have been on Hormone Therapy for 24 years. My new doctor had advised me that she will not continue my prescription because she in uncomfortable to prescribe to a woman over 65 years of age. I think that is my decision to make.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed at age 49 in May, 2007 with Stage II, 3 nodes positive. I had 4 rounds of A/C and 4 rounds of Taxol followed by 33 rounds of radiation. My doctor now wants to put me on hormone therapy. I am premenopausal but haven't gotten my period since July due to chemo. She won't put me on Tamoxifin because of a past history of TIA several years ago. She said I would be at too high a risk for stroke on it.
Avatar f tn I have been told from the start that with a lumpectomy I would need radiation. I found out later about the hormone therapy. I want to know if this is standard of care for my situation. I had a 1cm lump including DCIS and ILC. My margins were 6mm, 1cm, 5cm, 6cm. The ILC was in a linear pattern and low nuclear grade. 4 of 4 nodes were negative for cancer. I am ER+ 100% and PR+ 90%. I am HER2 negative. I was told my cancer was caught very early and I should be OK.
Avatar m tn Hi sorry hormone therapy will not help at all , there are no pills or cream to make your penis any bigger , take care ,
846905 tn?1258817444 For therapy of PCOS, Metformin is the gold standard. That therapy alone may be enough to help you ovulate (some people also lose weight). Or you may need something like Clomid or Femara in addition to help. If you don't ovulate monthly, you won't have a regular cycle, and it takes a long time to get pregnant. Oral contraceptives in combination with Spironolactone and Vaniqa can be useful for excess hair growth and acne. But of course don't help you ovulate.
Avatar f tn I was had my thyroid removed in Oct or 2009 due to cancer. My recent TSH test levels are .0236. I have always been a thin, but since my surgery I have gained over 30 pounds, 15 of those in last 12 weeks. Since my surgery, I have changed my diet significantly and excersie more. Why am I gaining weight & what can I do to get back to my pre-surgery weight of 115? I currently take Synthroid 125 mcg.
Avatar m tn These hormones are very important for normal functioning of our body and if there is a deficiency of these hormones it is important to take hormone replacement therapy to overcome this deficiency. Please relax HRT will not damage your brain but is essential at the moment for you.
Avatar n tn Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
Avatar f tn I have been on bioidentical hormone therapy for several years: estrogel 0.06% 2 pumps once daily and prometrium 200 mg. daily. My main symptoms for seeking treatment were severe hot flashes, night sweats and insomnia. These symptoms have subsided since being on hormone replacement therapy. I do not have access to individual dosage evaluation and preparation of these hormones. I know that it is best to take the lowest dosage that gives me relief of my symptoms to decrease my risks of cancer.
Avatar m tn Low testosterone has lots of effects like fatigue and weight gain. It can also make it harder to lose weight. So my metabolism may not be the most important thing right now.
Avatar f tn Hello my doctor has come to the conclusion after seeing my results that i do not have a thyroid problem. I have a lot of hypo symptoms such as weight gain, infertility, ibs, very low moods . Can anyone see any other possibilities with my following results. My results TSH 0.02 (0.50-5.00 normal) Free T4 12.4 ( 9.0-25.0 normal) Free T3 6.4 (3.5- 6.5 normal) Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn Post your FT3 and FT4 levels. If you can't lose the weight, maybe you'd benefit from your levels in the upper 1/3 of the range, not just 'in range' as so many clueless endos are apt to leave you. The reason many of us don't lose weight is because many endos still don't test/treat FT3 levels.
Avatar f tn Has anybody tried bio identical hormone therapy for Depression? I've heard so much about it. I heard it helps you alot with menopause, depression and with other issues. They check your hormones and then depending how your test comes out they insert some pellets into your hip. I'm looking into doing it.
Avatar n tn Lymph nodes clear. After surgery had mammosite. Should I do hormone therapy? I also had ovarian cancer 2 yrs. ago. Stage 1A also. Doing well here. Took chemo for OV. and left me with aching legs and joints. The hormone therapy has so many side affects. The drugs suggested for me are Arimidex or Raloxifene. Is there anyone that does not take hormone therapy and is still doing well with no recurrance?
