557907 tn?1215882569 I have Celiac disease [need to eliminate all gluten from wheat, rye, barley and oats] and I am very dairy intolerant -- to the point that I have to keep any dairy products from all foods and medication (lactose in meds is a problem). I have been using soy milk, absolutely love soy yogurt, and enjoy tofu to fill-in for all the dairy foods I can not have. Boooo! No more Purely Decadant Soy Ice Cream. Yumm! This is pure torture!!!!
Avatar f tn Hi I am 33 weeks and every time I eat milk ice cream cheese or drink anything with dairy products In it I am in the bathroom a half hour after with really bad diarrhea What could that be
Avatar n tn is the best. Use organic products if you are very worried, for your peace of mind. But I eat commercial dairy products without fear. Commercially raised meat is a bit more murky regarding hormone and drug use. If you live near a rural area, you should be able to hook up with a small beef or hog farmer who raises his/her animals without those additives and buy meat in larger quantities for the freezer. Chickens are harder unless you go organic or find someone who raises them for sale.
Avatar f tn 1 pound = 3500 calories, so in order to lose a pound a week, you have to eliminate or use 3500 calories in a week. You can do that by cutting 500 calories/day, but that would make your caloric intake too little (never go below 1200 calories). You can also cut 250 calories/day from your diet and use up 250 calories/day in exercise. This is, by far, the best, and easiest, option.
Avatar n tn Another thing that makes me think it could be hormone related is that about a year and a half ago I went vegan. While I was vegan I had no constipation or PVC's. I suffer from severe constipation. Our diary and meat are full of hormones. The only reason I started eating dairy again is because I was losing a lot of hair. I wasn't supplementing correctly. I am going try going vegan again. I will keep you updated on how it turns out.
Avatar f tn From what I read more than 17 years of using low-dose human growth hormone has shown very little adverse effects associated with its use.
Avatar f tn The first couple of months of my pregnancy I couldn't get enough dairy but then dairy would cause vomiting almost immediately after consumption. I am six months now and am very limited on dairy. I was at the doctors today and he said a lot of pregnant women go through this and to make sure to get calcium by other means.
10456541 tn?1427998737 Anyone else having a problem with things dairy? I drink 1% milk because I get it on wic. I LOVE milk and can drink it by glass fulls! The past couple of weeks though it has been making me very nauseous and makes my stomach hurt SO bad! I even ate some pizza the other day and the dairy from the cheese hurt my stomach. Is there any other way to get calcium?
Avatar f tn Is it weird that dairy products are the only thing I can seem to consume without feeling bloated, nauseous, and or groggy?
541609 tn?1273879848 t find anything about low fat dairy being a bad idea. I have always read that its any dairy that is unpasturized. that can be harmful, because of the possible bacteria. I eat a tonne of cheese, yogurt, etc. I will tell you that when you are pregnant I don't think you need to stick to low fat (correct me if I am wrong ladies), I think the extra calories are fine. But again, I am not a Dr. I would be curious to know where you heard to stay away from low fat?
Avatar f tn the past 2 days i have eating dairy with dinner and i think this is setting it off. i feel fine all day until i eat dinner.
Avatar f tn I think you're confusing inability to digest dairy with sexual hormones. You are right, humans were only intended by nature to consume mother's milk and that only until weaning, but the main problem with it isn't that it causes hormonal problems. Plant foods are actually more likely to cause hormonal problems than animal food, which is quite dead by the time we eat it whereas plant food has not nutritional value unless we eat it while it still has life force in it.
Avatar n tn I, too, have hypothyroidism caused by Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Typically, if your thyroid hormone dosage is properly adjusted, losing weight is much easier, though some of us still have to work very hard at it. I was diagnosed 7.5 yrs ago and have been struggling with my weight ever since. Many doctors think that adjusting levels to be just within the reference ranges is good enough and that couldn't be further from the truth...
Avatar n tn Thank you for the orientation on what days to use them. I will give that a try. I am 25 years old. I have had no previous pregnancies. I think, however, that I should have a doctor evaluate the long menstrual cycle. I will ask if he/she would like to perform any of the hormone tests (thyroid test, a prolactin level, a cycle day 3 FSH test, and a progesterone level) you suggested. I started my periods at age 11 and it has always caused much discomfort and pain.
Avatar f tn An update to this post. Dr. K says that 20 percent of thyroid activity depends on healthy gut bacteria. Dr. K. mentions several times that ALL Hashis must give up gluten because it creates a chronic auto-immune response. Read the book and see what I'm talking about. Since giving up gluten, I've had to lower my Cytomel because I went hyper, so he's right about the thyroid activity depending on healthy gut bacteria.
Avatar f tn t use the bathroom properly, and whenever I had dairy I could use the bathroom properly but I was in pain cause of the dairy, can anyone tell me why this is happening?
Avatar m tn Or you might try switching from dairy milk to almond milk or some other dairy substitute and see if your voice improves.
Avatar n tn Besides optimising thyroid hormone levels so your metabolism speeds up, the low carb high fat diet is something to consider. High-fat ketogenic diet fuels rapid weight loss, say obesity experts... "But Westman says rapid weight loss isn't the only benefit of a ketogenic diet, which has been found effective in treating epilepsy, reverses type 2 diabetes, and preventing heart disease. New research indicates the low-carb, high-fat ketogenic diet fights depression and bipolar disorder.
Avatar n tn estrogen cream but I have tried bioidentical progestrone cream before and this brought on bleeding again just after 3 days of use. I also experienced giddiness with it use. I am very sensitive to any medication and was on the lowest possibly dose of progestrone that time. The concern I have again is could using estrogen cream bring on bleeding. My gynaecologist said that if I have further bleeding (after none for over 7 months now) she will have to do another hysteroscopy.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait
Avatar f tn For more thorough testing, you may want to ask if you could have free T3 and T4 levels tested as well as thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). Regarding the dairy products, have you made the switch to lactaid milk to see if that was helpful? Have you tried rice milk? This is what I drink (vanilla rice dream), because milk gives me bad acid reflux, and soy milk gives me headache, plus I have interstitial cystitis.
1936698 tn?1333915193 I'm confused. My doctor has never told me anything about hormone levels and looking out for them or anything. My friend just had a miscarriage last night at 11 weeks, and I feel terrible for her and I just want to cry because she was so excited. Her hormone level went from 73000 to 1200. How do you tell if your hormones dropped and what is so important about them during pregnancy? I'm 31 weeks along and I am so confused about all of it.
441462 tn?1207951214 Vitex (claims to) balance hormone levels. If you don't have hormone problems I wouldn't recommend it, especially because I have read reviews where women with regular cycles had problems like anovulation and irregular mensturation after taking vitex. Even if you do have hormone problems, the best thing to do would be to go to an OB/Gyn or RE and get the tests done so your specific problem could be treated.
877337 tn?1249844450 Their research was published in the “Journal of American College of Nutrition” in 2007 and showed that the supplement decreased levels of circulating thyroid hormone in the body by affecting the metabolism of the hormone in the liver. It's important to get enough calcium and vitamin D to prevent the formation of early osteoporosis. It is the combination of both calcium and vitamin D that increases the absorption of calcium into the system and the formation of bone.
Avatar f tn If you were hypo for a long time, you were most likely digesting improperly and very slow, but you got use to it. So now things might be working better, thus your hungry. When I'm hypo I eat less, when hyper, I eat more Its very noticeable to me.
Avatar f tn I also avoid soy, as it binds to the thryoid hormone and flushes it out. Be aware that dairy, corn, sugar, yeast and eggs (casein) might also affect the Hashi patient.
Avatar f tn Is having nightmares part of the hormone change cause for the past 3 weeks I been having a lot and I'm not usually the kind that has them..... Any experience?
