Avatar f tn i have just gave blood samples for SHBG but i dont know if the testosterone test is for bio-available or not, my doc not up to scratch on this hormone thing and my endo is all for keeping ;me in the dark, i wish i knew more about the whole system. I am on 50mg of DHEA DAILY which makes no difference at all and on fluoextine 30 mg and the testosterone patch but nothing seems to make any difference. moods are all over the place and depression can set in occassionally as nothing seems to change.
Avatar n tn I am more less trying to guinea pig myself out for genetics testing because our daughter is now 10 and I will do whatever it takes for this genetic mutation to be identified. With that being said I am reaching out to see if there are any tests I have yet to receive or if you know of anyone who may study these rare aggressive forms of breast cancer? I’m an open book at this point and appreciate you taking the time to read this.
Avatar n tn yes i am my last period was 22nd of sept so it may be too early , i have got 3 children my youngest was 5 year ago n i carnt remember how far i was with him wen i did a test .
Avatar f tn Her dr initially tested all her hormone levels with a standard blood test, as well as testing her for Turner syndrome and celiac disease. Everything came back normal. We have had regular check-ups every 4-6 months to continue monitoring her growth, and she has been on an appetite stimulant that seems to be helping a little. Our pediatrician has now referred us to a neurologist because she has developed a fine hand tremor.
Avatar f tn In my opinion, hormone testing daily with saliva will not be helpful. If your periods are regular, then you are ovulating. Additional hormone testing will not be helpful. If you are ovulating regularly, hopefully things might work out on there own. If not, your best chances if clomid has not worked out are to comtemplate either injection fertility medications with insemination, or IVF. I think IVF is most likely to succeed. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Based on this observation, researchers at UCLA conducted the first trial of hormone therapy specifically targeted to MS, and found that estriol, an estrogen hormone that is produced during pregnancy, may be a treatment for MS. In a preliminary study, the hormone, given in a pill form, was found to reduce symptoms in a group of women with early MS. The hormone could eventually provide an alternative to injectible anti-inflammatory drugs used for MS.
Avatar f tn d ask for an ultrasound and if they will do it, an MRI of the uterus (to check for fibroids), and ask that they do the lab work to assess your hormone levels, and maybe do some thyroid testing (to check your weight fluctuation). If your regular ob/gyn is not on top of all of this, ask for a referral to an endocrinologist.
Avatar f tn Can anyone explain to me how you can conclude anything about how my lonely ovary is coping without testing for oestrogen (oestradiol) and probably progesterone and testosterone as well? And how can you get a reliable result testing on day 12? FSH and LH spike up around that time. Somebody please reply, this is driving me insane.
200957 tn?1236136923 the beta test is an hcg test to see how much of that hormone is present. many women have this done to assure their levels are doubling in pregnancy.
Avatar n tn Clomid(taken daily as a pill) prompts the pituitary gland to make luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone, which tell the testicles to produce testosterone and possibly more sperm.
470168 tn?1237471245 On the news recently (in the UK) it has said that they are closer to having a pre-natal test to diagnose autism, and that they are also close to achieving hormone treatment for the foetus prior to birth so that the brain is less masculine. I think it is widely agreed that high levels of the male hormone during pregnancy can give a greater inclination towards autism.
Avatar m tn I am regularly taking Thyroid hormone supplements for the past 12 years, however there has been no improvement in my condition. In fact I have also been suffering from low blood pressure for over a year now. What I want to know is- How reliable is the ECLIA method? Are there any alternative methods that can be used? What is the best way to do a comparison of different methods of testing for my case, and reach an accurate report of my hormone levels? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Avatar m tn I have had extensive testing that proved inconclusive. I also suffer from severe dryness, cracking of the skin (confined to the palms of my hands, soles of my feet one elbow... anywhere a callous has formed). Basically, it looks like an allergic reaction. I get periodic bouts of hive and itchiness, like it is in my veins. I have also broken out in hives like large polka-dots over my skin.
Avatar f tn I did about a week ago and they told me it was negative too. but they also said that I could still be testing too early. for some women it takes a while for it to get in there system. the hormone that is.
8367118 tn?1442605420 Ive never been on any other birthcontrol so im not sure why it effected you like that:(
Avatar f tn Hi Everyone Does anybody know what high DHEA sulphate means? I have known polycystic ovaries so im assuming it is linked with this but I would like to know if this is going to affect my fertility? been trying to conceive now for 3 years with no luck. Thank You.
7641974 tn?1395288241 A pregnant belly and abdomen, feels much different than one that is not. You are probably going through hormone changes. If you were on your pill for a long time, then maybe your body is having problems getting back into the swing of things, it is most likely a thyroid, hormone or even health issue. I would follow your doctors advice and get the testing done that he/she wants.
Avatar m tn re getting your information, but any notes on thyroid function and/or thyroid testing must include information on Free T4 and Free T3, which are the actual thyroid hormones, not just mention of TSH, which is a pituitary hormone that does not always correlate with actual thyroid hormone levels or with symptoms of a thyroid condition. I suspect the "infection" you're referring to is inflammation caused by an autoimmune condition?
Avatar n tn Having nodules does not necessarily mean you have a thyroid hormone problem, but some women experience postpartum thyroid hormone issues, so given the timing you might want to make sure you don't have a hormone problem. Good luck with your biopsy.
Avatar f tn s is the reason for your high TSH. TSH is a pituitary hormone, and testing and treating the frees is the most direct way of managing hypothyriodism. Also, get a thyroid ultrasound. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn This is why so many women who are NOT suffering from IBS or any other GI issues will notice increased BMs, looser stool, etc. I remember I always did years before I ever had IBS, but really didn't give it much thought..just accepted it as part of the monthly symptoms. I remember hating the way it made me feel though . Little did I know that in the future.....
Avatar n tn TSH alone not enough. Get more testing. If your doctor does not - find another doctor. You also need antibodies IMHO.
