1872071 tn?1320287532 Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone in your brain. It doesn't interact with Zoloft. That said, melatonin doesn't work very well for insomnia but fortunately doesn't have the numerous side effects that most insomnia medications do. The best treatment we know of to date is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia which a Harvard study in 2004 demonstrated was better than medications and didn't have any of the side effects or long term expense.
6495789 tn?1381823144 What are your actual thyroid hormone levels? You should be getting tested for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH. Hypothyroidism affects your ovulation, not the tablets. Hypothyroidism also affects your ability to get pregnant and carry a healthy baby. It also affects your baby, because adequate thyroid hormones are essential for proper growth and development of a fetus.
Avatar f tn So my partner and I have been trying for a baby for a while now but due to myself having pcos it has been a struggle.
Avatar m tn Use of what tablets? If you're referring to thyroid hormone tablets, those are usually needed for life, because we can't live without thyroid hormones.
Avatar f tn The problem is that my Follicle is not reaching optimum size and this might be because of some hormone imbalance. FSH injections and Letroz tablets are doses for hormonal stimulation for follicle growth. However there are no tests done for LH, FSH, Estradiol and Progesterone but my Doctors said the symptoms are not to have these tests done. I am worried that 1) Is there a natural way to improve the hormonal balance? 2) Can my glands become dependent on external stimulants for forever?
Avatar f tn “Nature-Throid is a hypoallergenic combination thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) hormone replacement drug made from Thyroid USP. Nature-Throid is formulated using hypoallergenic inactive ingredients and does not contain any artificial colors or flavors, corn, peanut, rice, gluten, soy, yeast, egg or fish/shellfish.” I notice is doesn’t say what it DOES contain, just what it doesn’t.

Avatar n tn now after 3 months when i again got a blood test done it showed TSH level to be 0.51 uIU/ml!still i am having 100 power tablets of thyrox! i would like to know if it is possible to get back your TSH level from so high to normal within 3 months?or are any of my reports wrong?should i continue with my 100 power meicine?
Avatar f tn You said you are on 150 mg a day of your tablets. Are you referring to thyroid hormone tablets? If so, do you mean 150 mcg, rather than mg? What medication are you on and how long have you been on it. If you get pregnant without having adequate thyroid hormones, you run the risk of having a miscarriage. Additionally, adequate thyroid hormones are critical to the growth and development of a fetus, which relies on the mother until its own thyroid develops.
Avatar f tn 2 years ago I was told I had under active thyroid, when i started taking the tablets or around the same time i started having, or what i thought i was having was side effects to the tablets. However when ive typed the side effects in online it has led to PCOS. Is there any information anyone could give me and is there any tests so i could find out if i definitely have it ?
Avatar n tn I am a 54 yr. old post menopausal lady who is on Divigel hormone therapy. I've had a complete hysterectomy. My question is WHY AM I HOT ALL THE TIME??? I don't have hot flashes anymore. Maybe 2 a week. This being hot all the time started about 12 yrs. ago, when I started having pre menopausal symptoms. The Dr. started me on the hormone therapy way back then to treat my hot flashes and it worked but I was still left with an over heated body.
Avatar f tn Hey Stella! I'm taking the Iodoral tablets. They're what my Dr. recommended.
Avatar f tn Hi,I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism with tsh 463 UU/ML 1month back and cholesterol 10.3MMOL/L and was asked to take euthyrox 100mg and lipitor 20mg daily.I had taken hypo tablets correctly and strict diet but cholesterol tablet I took only for 10days as heard abt side effects.after 1month tested again and now cholesterol is normal but my tsh levels have come down to 0.1 uIU/ml which is hyperlevels and doctor reduced dose to 100mg for 6 days a week and to continue lipitor.
Avatar f tn There is also lactose and many do not realize this. I have been coughing for 18 years after starting on this hormone and seen countless of doctors and all stated nothing to do with the medication..that I have allergies. Yet after insisting my doctor put me on the natural hormone I had to order from Texas since hard in Fl to get Armour...and after 2 weeks on it I have stopped a 18 year cough? Nothing else changed in my life except this.
Avatar f tn Do u know something about tablets Utrogestan-PROGRESTERONE.did u take something like that.
Avatar f tn I agree. Your symptoms probably have more to do with minute differences in the different manufacturers' tablets than with the generic per se. Your symptoms are hypo symptoms. I was on generic for quite some time and actually had my labs get worse when I switched to a brand name (same dosage). Another possibility is that your thyroid has taken a turn for the worse and can't produce as much hormone as it had been. Labs, including FT3, FT4 and TSH, are definitely in order.
