I had a hysterectomy 21 years ago with removal of ovaries. For the last 4 years, I've used bioidentical hormone pellets. These pellets are implanted under the skin of my hip. I get estrogen and testosterone. Estrogen for hot flashes, night sweats, dry skin, anxiety. moodiness. Testosterone for my sex drive. Prior to the pellets, I was on estrogen and managed those symptoms. For 16 years, I had little sex drive.
Has anybody tried bio identical hormone therapy for Depression? I've heard so much about it. I heard it helps you alot with menopause, depression and with other issues. They check your hormones and then depending how your test comes out they insert some pellets into your hip. I'm looking into doing it.
I have been managed with testosterone pellets implanted every four months since age 58. I recently had my thyroid removed and am balancing the Synthroid doses to TSH. The surgery was at a low for pellets. Are there really any issues with t4 binding proteins,regulation of thyroid function, and testosterone pellets? Some sites posit a possible interaction others say no.
Will maca block hormone receptors? I had my ovaries, uterus, and cervix removed in 2006. I use progesterone and testosterone pellets, oral progesterone and dhea, and Armour Thyroid. My levels were good and I heard maca works well with hrt to optimize it. I got severe acne on my chin and insomnia the month I took maca. I stopped and my breasts are deflating and I'm having hot flashes. The Maca is the only change. I feel like I did when my hormone levels were low.
I moved to AZ and in finding a new gyn, found a doctor going through menopause. She does bioidentical hormone pellets (and has them herself). They are implanted in my hip and last 3-4 months. They are the best! I get estrogen and testosterone. My body only uses what it needs and they are closest to what we make naturally. My life has changed drastically for the better with regards to menopause and libido. The return of my long missing libido was unbelievably wonderful!
Thanks! I have an appt. with my ob/gyn this month. I'll talk to him about the pellets. I have been on hormone therapy since my hysterectomy 6 years ago.he put me on a different kind a year ago, one with testosterone. It worked for a while, but doesn't seem to be helping much now. I'm a newlywed and my poor husband is really worried as I am too.

He is correct...unfortunately. Hormone Pellet Therapy will help you feel normal again! I had 1 Estadiol pellet and 2 testosterone pellets inserted. I also have Progesterone liquid I take. All are Bioidentical Hormones compounded in a pharmacy.
I get estrogen and testosterone. My delivery method is different than yours. I get pellets implanted in my hip.
I have made an appointment with my doctor to have my hormone levels checked, again. I have had my hormone levels checked 3 times in the last 4 months, in the form of blood tests. My first complete hormonal blood panel (4/9/13) was done prior to the HRT.

Thanks all if this info is so helpful. The pellets are estrogen & testosterone pellets as I had a hysterectomy & thought I needed some replacement if those. I was due to gave more placed & because I had no improvement we ordered the hormone tests. I wanted tested b4 we started but was told no. Oh well I am not going to get more pellets & just work on the thyroid/Hashi's & if we get rinse numbers right then I think those should come in line by the sounds of the above info.
I am 51, hot flashing for years. I do not take any hormone replacements. I have tried things in the past but nothing really does it for me. Most of my problem is at night. I do not sleep through the night without tossing and turning after a few hours and then it seems like for the rest of the night. My husband doens't see how I can do it...REALLY, DO I HAVE A CHOICE......The surgeon I am going to use asked if I had ever tried pellets.
I've gotten the hormone replacement pellets three times prior to this last one, about 4 months apart. Wonderful outcomes with those, except for maybe the last 2-3 weeks before it was time to get reinserted, I really felt the absence to the hormones and decided I need to go with every 3 months, vs. 4 months. Well, after feeling very blah for a my usual time before the reinsert, I go to get it (very happily!) and wait for the good stuff to hit. And wait. And keep waiting.
when i was seven 5 to 6 years ago i put some lead pellets in my mouth i didnt eat any i they weren't in my mouth very long i read the warning label then spit them all out as fast as i could then spit in the sink like 5 times washed my mouth out and went on with my day the warning label says lead pellets contain a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects do nit inhale dust or put pellets in mouth!
So we asked him if we can see what will happen when pellets will get wet. We did experiment right there. We poured water on the pellets and surely they started to expand significantly, even a few of them in the water made a mess so that choice was not for us considering that our cat would eat it. It was before the pain started. The next was a black color stool that came out in pellets. Every now and then I will have a pencil thin stool. For the most part I have had watery stools. My appetite has suppressed and my weight has dropped 10lbs in a month. Everytime I eat, horrid smelling gas starts filling my body, mainly feel pressure in the groin. I feel loss of breath and weak. The pain under my rib cage seems to only hurt after I eat or when I use my bowels.
Hi, I am concerned about the shape of my stool. It is thin pencil shaped pellets. Its been like that for a couple of years now.
I have a problem of loose stool a few times a day since 12 years. It was bothersome but i wasn't in pain and the shape of stool was fine (when not loose). A couple of years ago, i developed yet another problem. I started getting cramps with sudden urgency to go. The cramps would subside after the bowel movement.

and everybody in the medical community will call it a hip fracture from a fall. But it all started long before this with hormone imbalance. I would help myself if I could.
I'm 38 years old and started hormone replacement therapy last month. I had my first estradiol and testosterone implants and am taking progesterone pills at night. My hot flashes have stopped and my libido has improved some, but I'm bloated like I've never been before-even when I had regular periods. I always exercise and try to eat healthy most of the time-but I've gained 5lbs. over the month- and it's all "jelly-belly" fat. My appetite is ravenous!
