Hormone patch once a week

Common Questions and Answers about Hormone patch once a week

hormone

Avatar f tn In my opinion you should consult a gynecologist and start with hormone replacemenr therapy. You can also take Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators like Femarelle which derived from a botanical source (Phytoserms) or phytoestrogens which have an estrogenic effect on the body and therefore create a moderated estrogenic effect. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
1055834 tn?1280000320 I used a patch called Vivelle, its an estrogen patch, very easy to use. I used it for a year then as an experiment went off it, I do not have night sweats any more my only post op menopausal symptom is occasional hot flashes, hrt is very contaversial, you will hear/read different from people..it is said hormone replacement is bad for heart good for bones. You will find data to back up all theorys. You have to make the right decision for you. Wait till after the op and see how you feel.
Avatar n tn Should a woman who has had her uterus and cervix removed (ovaries are left) take any HRT for hot flashes? It has been 10 years since my hysterectomy and the hot flashes have just begun. I was 42 at the time of the hysterectomy I am now 53.
Avatar m tn I stopped taking my Premarin, and upon my request for a safer or natural hormone, she prescribed estradiol .05 once a week patch, just recently (last week) added Prometrium, 200 mg. daily. My health/sanity issues have not changed. I have anxiety, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism, high cholesterol, insomnia, body aches, memory problems, difficulty concentrating and staying on tasks, no sex drive, the list goes on.
Avatar f tn The thing is, these studies are on post menopausal women. I can see where taking a replacement hormone when your body should naturally not be making this hormone anymore could be bad and I wouldn't do it. But what about the people who were thrown into surgical menopause at a time their body would still be producing it?
Avatar n tn Is it normal for a man that just turned fourty to only want sex once a week?We use to do it at least three times a week.He is working alot of hours at work, could that be causing this problem? He says he is to tired? So I dont try anymore. Im getting tired of being turned down, with my feelings hurt .
Avatar n tn I would make sure that there isn't something going on at school that she fears so much, it makes her sick just to think about going. Then I would get her checked thoroughly as there is obviously something wrong.
Avatar f tn Has he tested your hormone levels since you only have 1 ovary left? I mean maybe it no longer works and you need to be on HRT . I had a full hysterectomy and immediately was put on the patch and I have not gained ANY weight and I eat normal. I mean I do eat a lot of protein; tuna, grilled chicken, but it is because I love them.. I don't eat carbs or sweets (maybe once a week if at all). I don't eat bread, I can't digest it right, and I am lactose intolerant....
Avatar m tn Or do I just go on estriol cream/patch or estrogel cream....and then figure out if I need t add more, and how do I figure that out - how does one know if she needs progesterin/progestin or testosterone added (either the medical kind or the bio identical kind).
Avatar f tn Thanks everyone! Next ultrasound is in a week to hear the heart tones. But I found out my white blood cells and platelets are off the charts high! I'm seeing the hematologist / oncologist. They're suspecting cancer. Anyone ever have high blood levels during pregnancy???

Avatar n tn Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
Avatar f tn I seriously doubt that migranes are related to menopause..they are related to stress so by having stress from hyster, and medically induced menopause it could be said there is a connection. I saw the Ophrah show you speakof and I am 47 have had a medically induced menopause via hysterectomy also...my doctor recomedded bio identical hrt I only take estrogen...its good for bone desity, helps with nerves and anger outbursts I was having also took away hot flashes and insomnia..
Avatar f tn I take 20mg of fluoxetine every morning as well as 88 ml of synthroid (started thyroid meds about a year ago,) and on hormone therapy (patch progesterone/dim) for 3 years (post-menopausal.) My guilty pleasure has always been a glass or two of w/r wine a day (while cooking and during dinner.) Overall ive alway felt pretty good but for the last 2 years i've been feeling a burning sensation on my tongue. Started out once and a while to everyday now.
720228 tn?1530911279 My patch fell off about two weeks ago and then I started my cycle. After that week I put a new patch. This week on Wednesday my husband said that I should change my patch cause it looks like it might come off but I didn't do it until Thursday because that is my normal day to change the patch. On Friday I was spotting a little bit. I figured that my patch came off or was not on good enough. Now it is Sunday and my cycle has not started. I was wondering if I could be pregnant.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi guys, just a question about HRT.............. anyone out there on it, and does it affect your MS drugs, and did it help?? I was prescribed Climara .05 in a patch once a week, and I'm scared to try it. I was just wondering if anyone out there has tried these drugs and what was your take on them. Avatar n tn It came back showing my liver was enlarged and all I was told is we will retest in a while. I AM WORRIED TO DEATH! Could it be my hormone patch? It is the only new thing I am taking. Will my liver go back to normal size or will it stay enlarged? I am overweight and have read that can have something to do with it but like I said my enzymes were never elevated before.
Avatar f tn I had a hysterctomy almost 3 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor. My oncologist put me on an estrogen replacement patch and I have been using them ever since. With all the stuff in the news lately about HRT and their new findings, I would love to know your opinion. Are these studies only on women who have gone through natural menopause or do they also include women who were put into surgical menopause at a young age?
Avatar f tn I am currently on the patch and me and my husband want to have a baby but when I try to take the patch off, I bleed for weeks and weeks. I am not sure if this is normal. Eventually I get fed up with the bleeding so I put another patch on. But what can I do to conceive? Am I doing something wrong? Is the bleeding normal?
Avatar n tn I started having headaches, pains under my arms, and my feet started swelling more than usual. The doctor asked me to cut the patch in half, still changing it twice a week. I used the 1/2 patch for over a month, and I still had the same symptoms, so the doctor told me to cut out all caffiene. It's been three weeks since I stopped caffiene.
Avatar f tn ve had my female organs removed one at a time with a LSH in 2006, left oopheractomy in 2007 and right oopheractomy just two months ago in 2014. I awoke from my last surgery with a patch on and have used it as directed since. I use to get hormonal headaches every other month or so and was able to successfully treat them with one or two prescription pain pills for headaches.
Avatar n tn I got a rash in that spot so I moved my patch and that week with the patch on I started my period as I would when not wearing it. I was on it that full time then I took my patch off for my actual period week and was still bleeding. So a total of two weeks on my period. Is this normal when moving the patch to a different part of the body?
Avatar f tn So who has had to have the progesteron shots once a week.what is your take on it and what should i expect.?
Avatar m tn Hi guys. I started taking Lexapro for my depression/generalized anxiety disorder about two years ago. For the first year, I took the drug every day as prescribed by the doctor. I didn't get any side effects which I thought was great. The drug wasn't of much help, though. A year ago, I decided to stop taking Lexapro on my own. I tried quitting it cold turkey but I wasn't able to follow through with it because of the withdrawal effects.
