Avatar f tn I had a complete hysterectomy 5 1/2 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor in one of my ovaries. I have been on the vivelle dot .1mg patch for several years with no problems. Lately, I have been having symptoms of low estrogen like hot flashes. Unfortunately, my gyn oncologist has retired so I have been seeing my regular ob for my yearly follow up.
Avatar f tn 2 1/2 years ago at the age of 35 I had a hysterectomy for a borderline tumor. Because I had my ovaries removed and am young, my oncologist has me on estrogen only replacement. With all the new information in the news now I don't know what to think. The thing is, these studies are on post menopausal women. I can see where taking a replacement hormone when your body should naturally not be making this hormone anymore could be bad and I wouldn't do it.
Avatar n tn Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
Avatar n tn There is a testosterone patch that can be placed on the male buttock. It is used for hormone replacement in men with low testosterone.
718868 tn?1230730029 Does anyone know of any other type of hormone I should ask my physician about, as I am getting very weary of being this age and unable to do very much from my body being so tired and weary. Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn I advise that you read up on bio-identical hormones, they come in may forms such as creames, mist sprays, pills, I personally found the patch to be the best method for me, very easy to use, and I think ( just my opinion) that the patch deliveres the most acurate does, ( except pills) Ive never been convinced mists or creams could be dosed properly. Yes deffinatley make an appointment with your Dr.
Avatar m tn Or do I just go on estriol cream/patch or estrogel cream....and then figure out if I need t add more, and how do I figure that out - how does one know if she needs progesterin/progestin or testosterone added (either the medical kind or the bio identical kind).
216278 tn?1308861082 Hi! I am 2dpo and I started an Estradiol patch today to wear for the next week and a half. Of course, I am starting to second guess everything (typical start of my tww) Does anyone know if this could raise my estrogen TOO much, thus hurting my chances for pregnancy? I have posted a picture of the graph of my hormone levels when they did the full panel and I put the numbers in a journal to correspond with it!
Avatar f tn Postmenopausal bleeding, timing of meds& 15mm lining by iatrofears, less than a minute Hi my last period was 11/2011 so i guess as of 11/2012 i started menopause. March 2013 i started climara patch& progesterone but since the patch gave me hives i was only partially compliant. Also i'd forget to take the progesterone sometimes. Tests: 1.Ultrasound 8/2012( before true 'menopause' began because only 8 months of no periods not 12). The endometrium thickness 7.
Avatar n tn Hi Vicki, I just have a second (off to work and no computer at work) but I wanted to say that I did a quick search and found that the patch you are on is in fact a bioidentical estradiol, which, in my opinion, is the only way to go...
720228 tn?1530911279 I have been on the Ortho Evra patch since Jan. 2012. My patch fell off about two weeks ago and then I started my cycle. After that week I put a new patch. This week on Wednesday my husband said that I should change my patch cause it looks like it might come off but I didn't do it until Thursday because that is my normal day to change the patch. On Friday I was spotting a little bit. I figured that my patch came off or was not on good enough. Now it is Sunday and my cycle has not started.
Avatar f tn Your FT3 result is in the low end of the range, which is consistent with being hypo. FT3 is the thyroid hormone that largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. The range is so broad that just being in the lower end is frequently not adequate to relieve symptoms for many patients. The range should be used as guidelines within which to adjust levels as necessary to relieve symptoms. Symptom relief should be all important, not test results.
709441 tn?1233340088 hummm i had total on monday the 26th and they started me on hormone replacement that day..I am 36 but I wake up sweating every night......so not sure that the cream is working....lol...hope all is ok with you...
Avatar m tn I wondered if anyone could shed some light on this, in particular I can’t find any information about hormone based behaviour modification in cats? I should add the cat is spayed and inoculated.
Avatar f tn I had a hysterctomy almost 3 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor. My oncologist put me on an estrogen replacement patch and I have been using them ever since. With all the stuff in the news lately about HRT and their new findings, I would love to know your opinion. Are these studies only on women who have gone through natural menopause or do they also include women who were put into surgical menopause at a young age?
Avatar m tn I am keen to balance out any hormone imbalance but i seem to have a sensitivity to omega 3, or perhaps is it iodine? Most of the literature online seems to suggest omega 3 will reduce inflammation, thereby helping reduce acne.
Avatar n tn How long post op are you? and are your taking hormone replacement? when I know this I can give you a more informed opinion.
Avatar m tn The exact cause is not known and can be too active immune system and hormone problems. I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist and get the diagnosis confirmed. Biopsy skin may be needed for this. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn I seriously doubt that migranes are related to menopause..they are related to stress so by having stress from hyster, and medically induced menopause it could be said there is a connection. I saw the Ophrah show you speakof and I am 47 have had a medically induced menopause via hysterectomy also...my doctor recomedded bio identical hrt I only take estrogen...its good for bone desity, helps with nerves and anger outbursts I was having also took away hot flashes and insomnia..
Avatar f tn I think that, if you even need them, that they should be used in conjunction with a low dose hormone patch. Your emotions could be more from the hormonal adjustment not depression but you may feel depressed b/c of the hormonal situation. Post surgery, by itself, causes a lot of emotional feelings. I guess if it were me, I'd wait on the anti depressants until I had a handle on what was going on with me. But, everyone is different and you must do what you feel is right for you.
Avatar f tn You can have changes after this surgery. You did keep your ovaries so you're getting some hormones but, maybe not enough. Ask your Dr about hormone testing to see what your levels are.
Avatar f tn They are having me increase my Progesterone shots from 1cc to 1.5ccs and get an Estrogen patch. The nurse says that this doesn't mean that the procedure didn't take but I am worried. It sounds like a bad sign. My question is for other people who have had IVF. Has this happened to you? Did it mean you weren't pregnant? I am being paranoid or should I prepare myself for the worst? I have had IUI twice and this is my first IVF.
