What can happen, if there is too much or too little of a hormone ( eg. thyroid or adrenalin), is a decrease/increase in heart function which in turn can promote changes in the heart muscle.

I started taking it after not being able to afford the $50.00 a month script to sleep. I take it about 10 PM and by 11pm I am ready for bed. Though I have other problems that play into not getting a goods nights sleep... I found this helps. You can get this OTC in the supplement section. 4341997 tn?1514588688 I have taken Melatonin for about 20 years and I am now trying to taper off. It is a hormone and I don't think it is healthy for long term use. My standard does was 3 mg but one doctor had me on 20 mg for the antioxidant effect for a while. Funny at that dose it does not caused any sleepiness. I've taken the mcg's and up to that 20 mg and the small doses did help me sleep.
Avatar m tn As the previous poster said, why are you not using condoms and birth control? Pre-ejaculation is ALWAYS present and a male doesn't feel when it's secreted. I'm not too sure why you took a test 2 hours after sex, it's not going to be accurate. Pregnancy doesn't occur immediately ad it takes at 2 weeks for the hormone to rise and be detected.
