997993 tn?1290751148 But not all women can become pregnant while breastfeeding. Some can with no problem, but not all. I did extensive research on this a while back because I wanted to get pregnant again. Anyway, for some women it is easy to do without any problems. Some women have too low hormone levels to sustain a pregnancy. I know that is the case for me. I have timed things right for the past 3 months and not gotten pregnant. I know my body very well, as I have tempt my BBT.
20922415 tn?1661860103 During the reproductive years, the pituitary gland in the brain generates hormones (follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] and luteinizing hormone [LH]) that cause a new egg to mature and be released from its ovarian follicle each month. As the follicle develops, it produces the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone, which thicken the lining of the uterus called the endometrium.
Avatar f tn I am not sure what you are describing comes from low estrogen levels. The wrinkles sound more like dehydration from the night sweats. Talk to your doctor and get some blood drawn and see what is going on with your hormone levels, don't let him or her fob you off with "it's normal." Be sure you are taking all your vitamins, as many as when you were pregnant or more, including iron especially. And get over to your doc! Good luck.
Avatar f tn My question is, how can I safely supplement iron and get my levels up to optimal while breastfeeding? I am currently on a prenatal that has 30 mg of iron, but if my levels are low obviously that's not cutting it. I don't want to overdose though and have too much iron in my breastmilk either. Anyone have any tips on what to do? Safety and health for my baby comes first, but I also want to feel and be at my best!
6918915 tn?1395932871 I know your hormone levels don't return to exactly normal while breastfeeding. I only breastfed my first for 6 weeks so I don't really know much about it and since I am planning on breastfeeding this baby longer I'm wondering which pregnancy symptoms arent quite going to go away until I'm done breastfeeding? Moodiness? Dark blue veins all over? Constipation? Skin darkening? Anemia? Bleeding gums? Appetite? RLS? Etc.
1745453 tn?1311390718 Are you breastfeeding? Breastfeeding tends to mess with your hormone levels which can definitely cause irregularities. If you aren't breastfeeding, you may want to check with your ob/gyn and see if he/she recommends doing some blood tests to check your hormone levels.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure why you had periods for awhile and then they stopped again. Perhaps with her increased breastfeeding (as she grows up and has greater demand), that may have changed your hormone levels a bit. I didn't have any periods at all while I breast fed, at least not until they were a year old and just about weaned.
561393 tn?1320962815 typically it is just fine for you to continue breastfeeding while pregnant, you may need to take extra vitamins and up you calorie intake even more than a typical pregnant women, so you can provide for both. since you do have history of MC I would definitely talk with your Dr as he or she may want to keep a close eye on your iron levels and any other levels that maybe effected by breastfeeding!
Avatar f tn How can I safely lose weight while breastfeeding, my doc. Says I need to be back in my post-pregnancy weight which is 180 I'm currently 215, but don't want anything to effect my milk supply. My doc. 1936698 tn?1333915193 I'm confused. My doctor has never told me anything about hormone levels and looking out for them or anything. My friend just had a miscarriage last night at 11 weeks, and I feel terrible for her and I just want to cry because she was so excited. Her hormone level went from 73000 to 1200. How do you tell if your hormones dropped and what is so important about them during pregnancy? I'm 31 weeks along and I am so confused about all of it.
Avatar f tn Hormone levels as in HCG? I'd say no, that's not possible, there is a specific type of blood test (I believe) that you can get done to tell gender, but I don't think insurance covers it, so you'd have had to pay it out of pocket, did you have any issues that would require a specific blood test, or did you request one?

470885 tn?1326329037 My Dr. put me on BC pills that were ok to take while breastfeeding. I'm sure your ob knows what to give you but there are quite a few options.
3124261 tn?1342217059 Hi there! The blood levels of LH are variable throughout the cycle. Normal levels on day 3 are less than 7mIU/ ml while peak levels are >24mIU/ ml. Hence it would be difficult to interpret your tests or suggest a management plan. I would suggest consulting a gynaecologist for a detailed evaluation and suggestion of an appropriate management plan. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn s going to take months to calm everything down to normal levels again. While I can appreciate the need for birth control after having a baby (cause they say you're very fertile right afterward), just keep in mind that any side effects you have after starting a new birth control method will be far worse than they would be for a woman who has not recently been pregnant.
