Avatar f tn I would agree - set off for a pituitary center and you may find the answers there. If you have not had a proper pituitary MRI (dynamic) then they may not pick up the lesion. Also, the radiologist can miss it. Cortisol that high often means Cushing's syndrome - not sure what to think of the white blood count only that when I had Cushing's, I had a lot of infections, failed to heal and developed a blood disorder - most of which resolved with the Cushing's getting sorted out.

Avatar n tn It more as to do with genetics than anything else. Try not to worry about it too much. Yea it s$cks that they didn't catch and treat this at the beginning of pregnancy but better now than never right?
Avatar f tn I thought my levels sounded really high to be 5 weeks.

Avatar m tn and will tell you that a thyroid test result that falls anywhere within the range is adequate. That is also wrong. The ranges are far too broad for that to be true. Also note that a good thyroid doctor will treat a hypo patient clinically by testing and adjusting Free T3 and Free T4 as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels. Symptom relief should be all important, not just test results, and especially not just TSH.
Avatar n tn I am a 25 year old female, I had a saliva hormone kit evaluated with testosterone, DHEA, estradiol, and progesterone, also progesterone/estradiol ratio done. The results came back as this, Estradiol- normal Progesterone- Low; 47.2 (range of 127-446) Ratio of Progesterone to estradiol - 33.0 Low; (range of 200-600) Testosterone- 83.5 High; (range of 6.0-49) DHEA- 366.7 High- (range of 106-300) I can tell that i have way higher 'male hormones' than the women's hormones but, why?

1287560 tn?1272216521 Hello, just wondering if any of you lovely ladies know much about hormone levels, mine have come back but my gp is off till next week-anyway I am 41 years fsh 7.1, LH 1.3 eostrodiol 147, underneath the receptionist said it said "no action required" so I am thinking these must be normal?
Avatar f tn Just a quick thought, you need to request a more accurate lipid test. The fact that his report shows his LDL as tri's too high to calculate means they are using a test that calculates the LDL based on the level of his tri's. He needs the test that actually measures his HDL, LDL and TGL's, it's the only way he'll know for sure what his lipid profile is.
Avatar f tn s no TSH available. FT4 and FT3 have to be monitored to make sure that the levels do not get too high. By monitoring FT3 and FT4, you can make sure that the TSH is just BARELY suppressed, i.e. FT3 and/or FT4 levels haven't gotten too high. It's a very important distinction that suppressed TSH and hyperthyroidism are not the same thing.
Avatar f tn t be necessary if cholesterol levels came down with the increase in thyroid levels, but that would be for your doctor to determine.
Avatar f tn 5 you might have ovulated, but it was not a strong ovulation, and therefore not very likely to lead to a pregnancy. Now, if that is related to the high prolactin levels, I don't know. Maybe it will change once your prolactin levels are regulated. If not, your doctor will probably suggest an ovulation inducing drug, like clomid, to help you get pregnant. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Diet and exercise are great life style changes but if you are dealing with high levels of stress and anxiety. Seeing a therapist can go a long ways in helping you help yourself. Try meditation, yoga etc. When you feel anxiety rising over worries try grounding yourself by finding 5 things you see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can smell, 2 things you can taste and 1 happy thought even if a moment you enjoyed something. And then just breathe.
Avatar m tn Hello, If your sexual organs are too short it can be due to testosterone deficiency, pituitary hormone deficiency, hypergonadotropic hypogonadism and growth hormone deficiency.Various investigations required are chromosomal studies, hormone studies like Gonadotropins (LH and FSH), Testosterone and DHT levels, thyroid hormone lvels, ultrasonography and testosterone therapy. I would suggest you to consult a urologist and discuss this possibility with him I hope that helps.Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn The REI nurse said that the numbers meant I never had any eggs, but why is my E2 so high? Is it possible that I didn’t ovulate? Might I still ovulate? Or, should I start looking at donor eggs? Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn You should make sure that your Vitamin D is above the midpoint of its range. Your FT3 is a bit on the high side, but I forgot to ask if you take your med before the blood draw. If you do it can give a somewhat higher test result than if you wait until after testing to take the med. I do think that it would be a good idea to test for Reverse T3, along with FT3 and FT4, in order to see what the ratio of FT3 to RT3 looks like.
Avatar n tn Then once you are pregnant they need to test your FT3 and FT4 every month and adjust your meds to make sure that these levels are maintained at high normal. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn Hi there. This is not a doctor forum, but a patient forum. MagiePieAnne's daughter was born without a thyroid. I will alert her to this message. In the meantime, please get a thyroid ultrasound of your baby and make sure to get a full workup on the pituitary gland. This could be pituitary or a thyroid issue. Also, the FreeT3 and FReeT4 tests are direct measurements of thyroid hormone. TSH is actually a pituitary hormone, the message that the pituitary gland sends to the thyroid.
20922415 tn?1661860103 Progesterone is one of the sexual hormones in the female bodies maintains and regulates sexual well-being. In males, it is produced in a small amount for sperm development. Avatar m tn As this proceeds, the output of thyroid hormone drops and the pituitary produces higher levels of TSH in an attempt to stimulate more thyroid hormone output. Hypothyroidism is very common problem and can be effectively treated with thyroid medication as needed to relieve symptoms.
Avatar m tn t have to much respect for your MD, Without thyroid production, he should be checking your levels with these tests every six weeks not every three months, there was no reason at all to allow your levels to drop low enough to have a TSH that high. IF he has done these labs, please post them along with the reference ranges provided for each level, Ranges vary from lab to lab.
787406 tn?1339203183 I would like to know what your thoughts are about these test, everything I have read on the net about these test say that the plasma is more reliable than the 24 HR urine because you may not be having an episode at that period of time. I had a total Thyroidectomy (with papillary cancer and De Quervain's thyroiditis, difficult surgery and i am having problems with vocal cords and throat) on March 27th.
Avatar f tn s, because High Anti-bodies indicates that it is one or the other, The TSH is not a thyroid hormone, it is a pituitary hormone, You need to get The Free T3 and Free T4 to see where your with your thyroid, a high T3 T4 would indicate Graves, and a low of both would indicate Hashimoto's
Avatar f tn A correlation was found between the number of eggs retrieved and the AMH level. Those women with low AMH levels tended to get fewer eggs during IVF than women with high AMH levels. Pregnancy rates were also lower in those women with low AMH levels. The results of this study were in agreement with other AMH studies over the past few years. However, this is the first time that the benefit of determining the AMH level at a random time during the menstrual cycle has been demonstrated.
