Yes, since you took it in the middle of the cycle, and the pill affects your hormone levels, it's not surprising that you had this reaction. It might take another cycle or 2 until it gets on a regular schedule but it's not a big deal, it's just very annoying until it regulates.

My sister had problems with her estrogen and progesterone levels after she took birth control. It really messes up your system. Can you take any type of birth control? Im on yasmin pills and they are a low dose pill. I never once got sick taking them and never had breakthrough bleeding. Good luck!!!

(sp) Unfortunately at your age the doctor is right - if you remain on birth control and have for long periods - you levels will be abnormal and due to taking the birth control your doctor will not take your condition as needing treatment. BAsically - sorry to say - but taking this test on birth control is useless. I would - if possible - remove yourself from altering hormones with the pill or?? and in 2 months retest. This would be the only way to achieve proper levels.

Hindsight , I felt better generally when I was on birth control (nuvaring) . And both of the episodes Ive had started upon removal of my nuvaring and onset of my period.... So based on your history with IUD and pills, clearly your flare ups are related to your hormone levels? I understand that hormonal birth control caused flare ups, but since you have continued to experience flare ups even in the absence of HBC, I'm curious if your baseline hormone levels have been considered, even in absence of HBC? She gave me natural Pregesterone to start taking from day 14-26. What I wanted to know is if we are not using birth control and I want to get pregnant while doing this should I do a pregnancy test on day 26 before I stop taking pregesterone? Hi, at my doctors appointment last week, my Md told me that I also have PCOS along with hypothroid. I was put on the birth control IC Microgestrin FE 1-20 and the directions said to start the pill on the day I get my period? All other birth control pills you start after your period is over, whats going on, is it because of the progestrin?

I would never recommend the depo shot. I was on it for a year and ever since ive had bad headaches and problems with my bones aching. It ***** the calcium out of your bones and I was always small (110-115 pounds) before I started it and it made me gain weight I was never able to keep off and stayed around 140 when before I could never even make myself gain weight. It totally messed up my body and periods and I bled for 2-3 weeks everytime I had to get the next shot.

I can't give you any specific recommendations as I have never been on birth control before. However, I would ask your gynecologist to test all of the sex hormones. I'm sure the gyno will be quick to agree to put you on birth control, but I would wait until any potential hormonal imbalances are under control before undergoing another hormone shift by starting birth control.

Hi Ladies I thought I would run this question past you all - I have read many articles stating that birth control could be a cause of GM. I originally had a mirena coil fitted for my endometriosis but this was removed this year as it was not keeping my 'endo' at bay. A fast motabalisom has been know to wear it out quick or being over weight can also do it.. He never done any blood test to see where my hormone levels where just sent me to the gyno to have my tubes tied.. I hate doctors dont listen to a word your saying..
