Avatar f tn Vitamin D deficiency is commonly due to not enough sunlight. However, the causes of vitamin D deficiency are numerous and you may have more than one condition contributing to this deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency is estimated to affect at least a billion people worldwide. When vitamin D levels are not rising well or at all (vitamin D resistance) low magnesium levels are the first suspect. High doses of vitamin D can worsen an existing magnesium deficiency.
666921 tn?1254990618 s an immune modulating steroid among other things (hormone, genetic transcriptional activater) not a vitamin. I have Sarcoid not Chronic Lyme but my 2008 and 2009 relapses both started about 3.5 weeks after the winter solstice. Almost to the day of each other around January 16th. I'm at about 48 degrees latitude in the US, so the daylight gets fairly short. This 2009 relapse hasn't ended because I've been purposely avoiding the steroid.
Avatar n tn Forgot to add, I am almost 1 1/2 years post surgical menopause. Both ovaries are gone. I have not been treated for hormone imbalance, aka low estrogen. My skin has done weird things ever since the surgery. I wonder if the low estrogen is contributing to the slow healing?
Avatar m tn I've been taking Vitamin D3 with calcium for a little over a year since having an initial result of 26. At first, my balance problems, dizziness, and vertigo were much stronger than now. After D3 supplementation of 1800 IU and lying in the sun a lot this past year, the balance problems and my energy, strength, and muscle tone have substantially improved.
Avatar f tn As I've mentioned in my previous post, I have the strong feeling that I have a hormone imbalance. For 3 years, I've been overemotional/irritable/nervous, have had light/skipped periods, persistent acne,(I'm 20 and I don't feel like this should be happening), and hot flashes. These problems have gotten progressively worse over the years. The problem is though, that I feel like I have the symptoms of both estrogen dominance and estrogen deficiency.
Avatar f tn who have vitamin D3 deficiency and feel dizzy, not a normal dizzy but a weird feeling like I'm floating it's so Annoying Specialy when I'm laid on the bed,I feel like l'm flying, and when I'm seating I fell imbalance.
Avatar n tn ve had the battery of tests done for thyroid, anemia, RA. They all came back negative with the exception of a Vitamin D deficiency. My vitamin D level is 14. Could it cause all these problems? I was told to buy some Caltrate and start taking that. But from what I've seen I don't know if this is the right route to take. Maybe I should see an endocrinologist? I also have to go for an MRI of the head sometime soon.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait
Avatar n tn If you have a hormone imbalance, can it make your birth control less effective? I haven't been able to find much info on this but I suspect I have a hormonal imbalance due to the pill so I was wondering if that could mean the pill would be less effective against pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I am starting to think I may be suffering from a hormone imbalance as my symptoms seem to go when I start my period. I also suffer from inability to sleep, mood swings cyclical depression, facial hair, hot flushes as well as cold and irregular periods, I am now having 2 periods a month, one really light and short and one a week later that is pretty severe....

1134902 tn?1296066144 anywho my question is...could this be caused by a hormone imbalance brought on by my intense workout? even tho Im only spotting, Im still cramping. My family doc is booked up until the new year, so I can't see her anytime soon.
Avatar f tn m asking is that do any of you think that these symptoms could be caused by extreme hormone imbalance? No one has ever tested my hormones before. I find it weird that they all started almost a month to the day I quit birth control. Also, my period was never regular when I was younger, I matured late and would sometimes go 6 months without getting my period. I was also anorexic during high school which didn't help. But I am no longer and eat very healthy.
Avatar m tn I've had severe serotonin deficiency myself notably from vitamin B12 deficiency from autoimmune pernicious anaemia (I take sublingual B12 spray which is amazing!) but from MANY other causes from hypothyroidism to insulin resistance to vitamin D deficiency. The problem is finding the cause or causes but at the end of the symptoms and causes of serotonin deficiency is general info to help boost serotonin.
Avatar f tn I was also diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency. I have been taking 50,000 IU of Vitamin D once a week for the past 3 months. I am scheduled to get retested next week. The main symptom that I went into the doctor for was an unexplained pain in my lower back and legs. I am 41 years old but felt like a 90 year old, could hardly walk up the stairs or get out of a chair. After 3 months the pain is still there but nothing like what it was before starting the large dose of vit D.
Avatar m tn I would make an appointment with your Doctor it sounds like you have a Vitamin B12 deficiency which is nothing you just need more iron & have anemia & a chemical imbalance. If that level gets to low from what my doctors And my husband tell me it can get very serious & kill you if not treated so continue to take the medicine meanwhile make an appointment really quick with your primary doctor. They will change it. It could be a reaction to the medicine.
Avatar f tn I only checked my vitamin D levels as this deficiency in linked to increased risk of cancer in particular colon, breast and prostate. I didn't once suspect I'd be deficient because I live in Queensland Australia and have a tan. I had severe vitamin D deficiency! O_o My reasons for vitamin D deficiency - magnesium deficiency and Hashimoto's thyroiditis (autoimmune hypothyroidism).
