My daughter was diagnosed with dysthymic disorder (depression) with underlying adhd behaviors. I am NOT in favor of medicating a 6 yo and have heard great things about the feingold diet and other elimination diets to pinpoint foods/additives/artificial colorings/flavorings that can trigger allergies and cause unfavorable behaviors.

With hepatitis C you need to be under the care of a hepatoligist or an gastroenterologist experienced in HCV, hepatology and Cirrhosis. Patients with decompensated cirrhosis (moderate or severe hepatic impairment; CTP class B or C) should be referred to a medical practitioner with expertise in that condition (ideally in a liver transplant center).
Avatar n tn I have been dieting and exercising for 6 months now, max 5-6 times a week for at least an hour each time on a 1200 calorie diet. (Zumba, Strength Training) I feel that I am just exercising just to maintain my current weight. I am 144lb 5'3. I was at my heaviest in Oct 2014 at 150. I do feel toned, but it's getting a little frustrating that i can't get down anymore. My goal would be at some point to be 130 but I just want to get down to 140 right now.
Avatar m tn How were you treated for Graves Disease? Are you now hypo? Are you on thyroid replacement hormones? If so, which ones, what dosage and for how long have you been on it? It's possible that you need to increase your med dosage, if you aren't losing weight. Typically, when thyroid hormone levels are adequate weight will come off. If you have current labs you could post, that would be helpful for us.

I gained 10 lbs with no change in measurements, but my muscles are pretty big now. However after starting the program my cycles changed. sept to oct cycle was 26 days, oct to nov cycle was 25 days and the I spotted after every workout and some mornings for the week ovulation was possible to occur. My November to december cycle then lasted 32 days.

I know that my testosterone is low for my age. I plan on losing excess weight and see what happens from there.

Avatar n tn They even teach you how to eat out on the diet. The program is a little expensive but I have found that it is totally worth the money. I have tried numerous diets over the years but have not had the results I've gotten with MediZone. I'm loosing the weight without feeling deprived or hungry all the time.

Not sure the reference ranges for the SGPT or SGOT so don't know if they are out of range or not, but your TSH is too high, as is your Triglycerides, plus your HDL cholesterol is too low...... High TSH suggests hypothyroidism; hypothyroidism can cause high triglycerides and low HDL. Has your doctor prescribed you a thyroid replacement hormone or ordered further testing, such as Free T3, Free T4 or thyroid antibody tests?
Avatar f tn If you can't lose weight with diet and exercise, without resorting to things like Optifast, I'd have to wonder if your thyroid hormone levels are optimal, or if you're taking other medications that cause weight gain/inability to lose. I've had a horrible time losing weight since I became hypo, but my thyroid levels have never been allowed to be optimal either because I have a very low TSH, which freaks out all my doctors.

Like you need to run 2 hours to burn off a hamburger. Once you learn these things remember all calories need to be burned off by activity. Most sensible eating plans inc the highest quantity of raw vegetables. Some fruit and nuts. Cook lean protein like fish in olive oil rather than soy oil. Pick an activity. At school.

These hormones are T4 (the storage hormone) which should be efficiently converted (via the liver, brain and thyroid) to the 'active' hormone T3 which ALL body cell need to operate. If your thyroid does not produce proper hormone levels, you need to take thyroid 'med' replacement hormone, its that simple.

Choose healthy foods that are full of healthy calories. Lean protein, low fat dairy and whole grain carbohydrates are all good choices. Add easy exercise. Fighting through the sluggishness and fatigue of hypothyroidism is difficult, but adding daily exercised can be a great aid in losing weight.
