Avatar m tn the other symptoms have come and gone (and come again) but the balance issue is a constant. Here is a link describing the VNG test and additional tests that I will have done. http://nationaldizzyandbalancecenter.com/services/balance-lab-testing/ http://vestibular.org/sites/default/files/page_files/Documents/Diagnostic%20Tests%20for%20Vestibular%20Disorders.pdf I hope you can get some answers...it's very hard to be out in the world when you feel so unstable!
Plant Is there a home hormone test to check for menopause or peri-menopause, I can purchase without going to the doctor?
Avatar f tn If you did want to still have children, there are things you can do to improve your hormone balance which is usually the number one reason why women have trouble at our age. One very effective thing is acupuncture. It's not cheap but in just a few months can return your hormone balance to where it should be. It can help alleviate the symptoms of perimenopause even if you didn't want to have kids. There are lots of supplements that can help with hormone balance, too.
Avatar n tn A neurologist did the same tests (balance test) on my son, and said he didn't have any tumor. He was wrong. I later took my son to an endocrinologist who ordered an MRI - he had a pituitary tumor. The trouble was, pituitary tumors don't cause balance problems. The dizziness was from changes in blood pressure due to hormone imbalance. Adrenal hormone loss can also cause anxiety. The only way to know for certain if you have a brain tumor is to see it on MRI.
Avatar f tn I have been off balance (not dizzy or lightheaded) for months. It is constant. I have never fallen but it feels like I'm out of alignment or vereing when I walk (even though I don't). Hearing test came back fine...what else could it be???Doc will not authorize MRI. HELP!!
Avatar m tn Thanks ginger! I'm not trying to fix anything tho, I'm just trying to support his overall health. Low testosterone is directly related to prostate cancer in us old guys. Its has many physiological benefits. I know from personal experience. Natural testosterone cream reduced my blood sugar, triglyceride and cholesterol levels to a normal range. My depression lifted and my enegry levels increased. When testosterone is converted to DHT and estrogen it can be problematic.
Avatar n tn I have mood swings, and I am trying to find a doctor to check my hormone balance. I have been to family practice doctors, but they did not do any blood work or anything. I have been to gynecologist who put me on a pill, which did not solve my problems. Which doctor should I go to get my blood work test checked? Which hormons directly related to mood swings? What blood work should be done?
Avatar f tn Well I havent gone through menopause yet, but I did see a womens health doctor and she tested all my hormone levels and said I was in pre menopause, I was only 31 at the time, she wanted to start me on hormone replacement therapy, she said it would help with my anxiety so much, I didnt want to start HRT at such a young age, and you always hear about women that get cancer with hormone Replacement so I was scared as well. So here I am still dealing with anxiety.
Avatar f tn please help me in this regard. what are chances of failure of emergency pill and what about this home pregnancy test result. if i'm not pregnant why i'm delayed with my period. plz... replay me soon....
Avatar f tn Women who have a healthy hormone balance tend to enjoy their lives the most. Hormone fluctuations can result in several problems such as perimenopausal difficulties, premenstrual syndrome, mood swings, fibroids, heart disease, breast cancer, and ovarian cysts. Usually, women don’t completely meet what their bodies need—food and exercise to reduce stress and feel better. Diet, nutrition, and workout are some of the common lifestyle changes that can help women restore hormone balance.
Avatar f tn I am having a host of other bizarre symptoms - most scary is this odd dizziness, a distinct sense of being off balance, like something is really wrong with my equilibrium. I have had my heart listened to, EKGs in the ER for panic attacks so many times I've lost count, every time my BP is taken it's near perfect, I've had doctors tell me my BP is "textbook", or "lots of people wish they had your BP", etc.
Avatar f tn Have you had your hormone balance checked? Hormone imbalance can cause that type of cyst/abscess around the vaginal area. I have also had the same problem in the past, and it was present for years. Since I have tested my hormone levels and started treating the imbalance, the cysts have completely disappeared. Hormone imbalances can also cause deficiencies in vitamins in the body that are essential for your immune system.
Avatar f tn By nature, birth control works by changing the hormone balance in your body. I believe in most cases it makes your body think you're pregnant so that you won't get pregnant. It's probably this change in hormone balance that's causing this. There are 2 possibilities: it could be that over time your body will adjust & you won't feel so sexually charged. Some women have a drop in their desire when on the pill. The other possibility is you could ask your Dr.
Avatar m tn TSH means thyroid stimulating hormone. As for the test results, it depends on whether they did T3 or T4 test. Normal T3 is 75-220 mcg/ul Normal T4 is 4-12 mcg/ul Either way, your Thyroid is not functioning correctly.
Avatar f tn Because you had a hysterectomy, the usual natural approach is more complex. I'd advise seeing a naturopath. The usual approach would be to use a trial and error approach with the great many herbs and "natural" hormones that are derived from the Mexican Wild Yam that help to balance hormones, but again, since you've had a hysterectomy, you might want to see a naturopath who knows more about what influence that has on the matter.
