hormone

Avatar f tn The Hormone aldosterone controls the rate at which the kidneys remove potassium, water and sodium from the blood and this hormone is a steriod type produced in the adrenal gland. Some medications as a side effect act as a aldosterone inhibitor. The technical term for high potassium is hyperkalemia and there can be a few symptoms. These include nausea, slow/weak pulse or abnormal heart rhythms. If the condition becomes severe, then it can become a serious problem including complete heart block.
Avatar f tn I have numbness and weakness and now have a hard time standing because I cannot seem to balance. I notice that when I am standing my big toes are not on the floor and I am more on my heals, trying to balance. I am concerned about MS and ALS ... any ideas?
Avatar f tn t getting enough sodium in my diet. So, now I try to get enough natural sodium as prescribed by my doctor in my diet. She also told me I was hypoglycemic, which can cause me to shake and pass out. So, go see the doctor, try not to stress too much and I'm sure it will be ok. Try a full body massage, or even a shoulder massage. I always feel better after one.

Avatar m tn is it possible for the chronically anxious person to be under such mental stress for such a long period of time, with panic attacks occurring occasionally, that your body will be so thrown off, like say, a bulimic/anorexic person, in terms of electrolytes balancing and adrenal hormone production, that exercising/going back to a regularly strength training routine would pose a risk of dangerous arrhythmias due to poor electrolyte/microminerals metabolism?
Avatar f tn Hi im 18 can my GP offer a hormone test as i feel i have a hormone balance or is this something you have to buy like a kit (i also have an under active thyroid)
1107393 tn?1263417738 Thyroid treatments may seem similar, but slight differences in the active or inactive ingredients for generic levothyroxine drugs can result in dramatic changes to hormone levels, from 25 percent too much thyroid hormone to 20 percent too little, the physician groups said. When changes are made to patients' thyroid hormone regulation, they sometimes suffer a severe recurrence of their symptoms.
Avatar f tn I have episodes or periods of polyuria every now and then. I have decreased my Thyroid Erfa on August 15 from 2.25 pills to 2.0. Yesterday evening I was very hungry and ate an extra meal. At night I could not sleep, I was thirsty and was again very hungry but did not eat. I instead took an extra bit (0.25G) of Thyroid Erfa. It calmed me but I could not sleep. I had to go to toilet almost ten times to urinate.
Avatar f tn This is one of the things I have not yet read on this board. After I have an episode (pre BM), like a profound dizzy spell, (lightheadedness), feel like I am going to black out (but never have)...after it passes, I am "off balance". I walk around for a bit like they have moved the floor a bit. Am wondering who else, if anyone, ALSO feels this in addition to any episodes they may have please. Thanks.

I have tiny bones. How do I know if this is too much or little? Is dosing by weight? If so, then maybe it's too much.
Avatar m tn It is possible that there is an in balance in your body of sodium, potassium and calcium. You might be eating the right foods or taking the correct supplements, but your body is not absorbing these in the correct balance that your body needs. You would need to experiment which one is making you out of ‘balance’. Try taking an extra potassium tablet. Give it some time for your body to absorb it.

Avatar f tn Doctor: Dec. 2004 I rec'd complete thyroidectomy with subsequent RI. 6 weeks post-surgery I began to develop hypo symptoms on 100 mcg. Synthroid. 6 months post I was experiencing extreme multi-hypo symptoms and additionally severy myofascial pain. My muscle pain on minimal exertion felt the same as the "burn" experienced during weight-lifting. I had severe fatigue and had gained 50 pounds in 3 months.
Avatar f tn If you recognize that eating a little too much healthy food continues to build up your fat reserves without limit, then yes it is bad. There's needs to be balance, and an awareness of when you've been eating too much (if only through your belt and pants feeling tighter), so that you know you must cut back.
Avatar f tn I take vitamins/supplement 4 hours after hormone med, for best absorption. If you take hormone meds at night, try taking supplements in the morning. Although not recommeded, some do take supplements with hormone med at same time, important key is consistency. Wishing you well.
Avatar f tn I'm having the same problem but just my feet and sometimes hands swell. I'm almost certain that it has a lot to do with my sodium intake. I'm going to the doctor Tuesday and hopefully they can recommend something.

Avatar m tn Thanks ginger! I'm not trying to fix anything tho, I'm just trying to support his overall health. Low testosterone is directly related to prostate cancer in us old guys. Its has many physiological benefits. I know from personal experience. Natural testosterone cream reduced my blood sugar, triglyceride and cholesterol levels to a normal range. My depression lifted and my enegry levels increased. When testosterone is converted to DHT and estrogen it can be problematic.
1564087 tn?1308947518 potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, vitamin B complex, or vitamins B1, B3, or B6 and Vitamin D. Generally deficiencies of any of the above can cause muscle twitching and spasms in localized or generalized areas of the body. Get your kidney function, parathyroid gland function and adrenal function tests done because these affect the electrolyte balance in the body. Stress, alcohol, caffeine and fatigue all cause similar symptoms. Hence if you take alcohol or coffee then cut this down.
