1468230 tn?1286477551 Hi and welcome to our forum. It is always good to hear from people who have remained symptom free for some time, however I believe that finding out and learning as much as possible about the condition can help one to deal with the condition. The fact that you are asking these questions and have come to this forum, indicates to me that you have some concerns that you may be experiencing some new MS symptoms but are hoping that there may be another reason.
Avatar f tn After 35 years of monthly migraines I am now approaching menopause. I am lucky if I have a couple of pain-free weeks a month, last month it was one day. As I had no headaches when I was pregnant or when I had a contraceptive implant I still have hopes that once I no longer bleed I will have no more migraines. For now though the lenghtening of the time with migraines is extremely worrying and exasperating. My life has been put on hold by the disease. Can anyone addvise ?
Avatar m tn Dizziness can also be associated with such menopausal symptoms as hot flashes, migraine headaches, anxiety and panic disorder. Menopause Dizziness Treatments Some elements that cause dizziness can be alleviated, at least slightly, by behavioral changes. If your vascular system has become sluggish due to hormonal changes, you might feel lightheaded upon standing up suddenly, so slow, careful movements may help. Keeping hydrated also aids the circulatory system.
988694 tn?1332359479 I am not reaching menopause or anything like that, but I am suspicious about a sex hormonal imbalance. I am taking thyroid medicine for hypothyroidism and still have not found optimal dose. About 6 months ago I started to have lots of headaches, everyday. I also started to spot before my period, maybe a week before and now two days before. I have a lot of pain when having my period and headaches jut leave me useless. My bowels also changed during this time.
Avatar f tn I have very bad night sweats (wake up damp), no hot flashes, hair loss, dry skin, anxiety which gets worse before period, dry hair, itchy skin, temp has been running at 97, headaches were bad until I started taking YAZ, allergies which I have never had, etc. Anyone thinking this sounds like peri-menopause? I am 38, my mom says hers started at 35.
Avatar n tn It also presents with hot flushes and other symptoms of menopause due to hormonal changes. Dizziness also can be caused by a variety of conditions such as ear or eye conditions, blood pressure and blood sugar issues as well as underlying medical illnesses like anemia or diabetes. Talk to your doctor about this. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I have no other signs of menopause but missing my cycles. I took a menopause and a pregnancy test a week ago and both were negative and still no period? I guess I will take another and if it is still negative then I need to go see someone. Has anyone had this happen to them?
20867631 tn?1557064546 Yes, the ER is not a good place to go for menopause. lol. My general practitioner is really helpful as she is a woman and gets everything I'm going through. I give her my wide range of symptoms and she says normal or not normal. So far, everything I have is normal. I like her better than my ob/gyn but that's a good person to talk to as well. I've always gotten headaches with hormone fluctuation. I got headaches with half my periods.
824295 tn?1241652549 I had lots of night sweats - around the time of tick-bite - I thought it was 'menopause' stuff at the time - since then I have had some very bad headaches usually accompanied by 'an on/off fever' - being the ripe old age of 48 yrs. - I have no idea what 'symptoms' etc; could be connected to hormone levels fluctuating - my G.P.s have been no help on the 'menopause' subject. As my health probs.
1353379 tn?1278826800 Minor menopausal symptoms started straight away, sleepless nights, headaches ect. after 2 weeks the crying started. feelings of not being a women anymore. Avatar f tn I noticed my abdomen getting bigger and then the weight jumped up. Could this be hormonal? I am exhausted all the time, my menstrual cycle is out Of whack. I know I'm not pregnant though. I've also been very thirsty and getting headaches. I have even tried cutting back on calories and still can't lose weight.
Avatar f tn She mentioned that I am going into peri-menopause and that all the symptoms I was describing were hormonal changes. There are 2 things you can do: 1. either go on a low dosage hormonal pill to regulate the hormones and/or 2. take herbal supplements like evening primrose oil, black cohash, chaste berry, magnesium and vitamin B supplements. Please talk with your gyneco, or find one who will listen and who is a woman and will understand. Let me know who you go on?
Avatar n tn I have some hormonal issues- a micro prolactinoma and hypothyroidism, both in treatment, but still not optimal levels. I'm also in a peri-menopause, my period is since few months irregular. My anxiety is very strong, I'm on beta blocker, because I don't want to start with psycho drugs which would make me addicted. Is here someone with similar problems, thyroid condition, peri-menopause, or other hormonal dysfunction, having anxiety all the time? Thanks!
Avatar f tn My hands get swollen especially when it is warm. Watch your salt intake. I am in the midst of the menopause and the variety of symptoms are unnerving. What is going to happen tomorrow? Seems like small enjoyable tasks are a hardship. Keeping my spirits up has been a challenge today.
1090423 tn?1286287650 You may be in menopause, which would explain the hot flashes. Hormonal changes can cause headaches as well. Be sure to describe your symptoms to the doctor, and he or she will decide if a CT or MRI is warranted. Stress and tension are also common causes for the symptoms you describe. I'm not trying to dismiss your concerns- definitely get them checked out. But know that more likely than not, they are due to a common or benign cause. Good luck and I hope you get relief soon.
Avatar n tn Menopause is what I have....no periods.I'm 24.

643867 tn?1225298753 I do not have hot flashes, night sweats, and other symptoms normally reported with menopause. My FSH is normal indicating I am not in menopause.
Avatar n tn I am back to work after maternity leave and started to get right sided headaches (especially after my first night of working ) with nausea and vomiting. My BP was up HIgh 150's / 110's. My doc switched my meds first Lopressor 100mg daily...when it only brought my bp to 140's/100's, he added HCTZ 25mg daily. BUT i am still getting right sided headaches...and on top of it i feel dizzy ...the last bp i took was 138/89..
Avatar f tn t have to be premenopause to have menopause-like hormonal imbalances, especially if she is hypoT. Also, it's not as common, but men can also have estrogen dominance. BTW, two female techs told me about this doctor and his research when I had a mamogram a few years ago and they said they swore by his theory and treatments.
Avatar f tn Hi, I agree with your doctor that menopause an even perimenopause ( time leading to menopause) may cause headache and other symptoms due to hormonal changes. And good thing about this is that it really goes away once the hormones stabilize. Just continue your medicine, drink plenty of water and stay healthy. Take care always and best regards.
Avatar n tn Hello, The normal age range for the occurrence of menopause is somewhere between the age of 45 and 55. During menopause, the production of most of the reproductive hormones, including the estrogens, progesterone and testosterone, diminishes and becomes more irregular, often with wide and unpredictable fluctuations in levels, resulting in various symptoms.
Avatar f tn Sleep deprivation and sleep disorders can impact our health in a major way. Cognitive ability can be impacted and yes, I'm sure headaches can be triggered. I had not heard about a correlation with alzheimers. In reading about that, it's a little confusing. I guess many with alzheimers do have disturbed circadian rhythm. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4351409/ I don't know if it causes it but is more just part of it though.
Avatar f tn I have been going thru menopause for 1 1/2 yrs, I was put om premilin .
Tbd Be wary of a woman going through menopause. LOL There is a direct and proven link between menopause and depression and often medication is indeed necessary. One should not be afraid to treat their depression just because it's correlated with menopause. My opinion.
