Avatar f tn I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.
Avatar n tn Although Macafem is 100% all natural with no known side effects, since you have a family history of breast cancer, you should consult with your doctor first. Macafem works in an entire different way than synthetic hormone drugs do. This herbal supplement won't increase or decrease any specific hormone, but it will regulate the hormonal system as a whole by stimulating your body's own production of hormones.
Avatar f tn Several factors are usually considered to cause acne such as diet, stress, genetic, dirt hormonal imbalances, cosmetics, work-related and drugs. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar f tn Genetic factors perhaps determine the failure of acne-prone follicles to become in to into acne-resistant follicles in early adult life. In-fact it may be thyroid auto-immunity that needs to be tested, and might have a bearing in adult acne. Regards.
Avatar n tn I am 25 (F) with a lot of acne problem on my face. i even did my hormonal test which hv shown normal results. i have tried everything else but nothing has help. i m getting married in 4 months. should i still consider hormonal treatment or go on accutane?
Avatar f tn Anyways, I went to my doctor multiple times in a desperate attempt to find a pill or medication that could clear my acne, and was even considering Accutane during that bout of acne last year (doc said no because I was on antidepressants at the time). I've tried everything from clindamycin to minocyclin to tretinoin to bactrim (which gave me a rash and high fever, turns out I'm allergic to it) to birth control pills... to no avail.
Avatar f tn So, I had to fill out a questionaire with a million questions before I see an RE at the end of the month. One of the questions was about acne, and whether I have it or not. What does having acne mean? (I've heard getting acne can be a sign of something, I just can't remember what) Lately, I've been having so many breakouts, and today noticed I had some back acne. Gross! I never had acne before.
Avatar f tn I start taking this and it finally help with my terrible acne. I have acne in my back, face and chest. Some its really deep and leave marks everywhere. Go to a dermatologis, and try different treatments. Good luck!!!
Avatar n tn Ever since I began my 2nd trimester, I have been experiencing terrible acne, what are some things u mommies/mommies to b have used that actually worked??
Avatar n tn Starting a year ago i started to get acne. I know thats normal, but alnog with the acne, my face began to burn like a sun burn. now, a year later, not a moment goes by when my face does not burn. Although it burns and is red all the time, certian triggers make it worse. laughing, eating watching tv, heat, meeting new people. Sometimes it will just burn for no reason. i have gone to numerous doctors and dermatologists but no on knows whats wrong. alnog with this, my acne just keeps getting worse.
Avatar m tn Are you watching your diet-getting lots of water, fruit, veggies? Have you tried different facial cleaners/soaps?
Avatar f tn Hello, I am a 22 year old female who suffered from bulimia for almost 2 years. Over the past 12 months I have been in recovery (dramatically reduced episodes from daily to monthly) , and over the past 2-3 months I have been completely bulimia free. During my bulimia I lost my periods completely and it is only since I started recovering 12 months ago that they returned.
Avatar m tn I had been prescribed a supplement for the treatment of acne and the salts in that supplement contain myo -inositol, D-Chiron Inositol, Chromium and Vitamin D3 and I have been taking these for 3 months now. I haven't been diagnosed with any PCOS or hormonal imbalance in my reports. Is it safe to take these supplements without any side effects as i read on internet these supplements are used for PCOS treatment mainly.
Avatar f tn Oh welcome to the club. Sorry my face so awful till 10 or 11 weeks that was unreal. I'm 34 and still having adult acne on top of hormonal acne. They can't give you too much stuff like meds for it right now. You gotta hold on and later it should get better. After I delivered my 2nd baby my face was awful again. Yeah ... hormonal craziness. But I use tea tree oil pads off of amazon to clean my face with. Very natural and it does help to reduce inflammation.
Avatar n tn I'm 17 years old this will be my first. Currently I'm 12 weeks 4 days and I've been getting acne; I know it might be because I'm still a teen but I never had it before. So can you get it from being pregnant? I do take care of my skin and body. Is there any way I can prevent it?
Avatar f tn With my first I had acne so bad nothing worked not even proactive its hormonal there's really nothing that you can do. After my daughter was born it cleared right up and my huge swollen nose went away too. Best of luck and congrats!!!
Avatar f tn I have developed several side effects due to over masterbation like acne, sunken eyes, bony wrists, hair loss etc. How do I recover from the above stated problems.
Avatar n tn t just do the obvious but also help hormonal balance and acne. I am 17 and my periods are all over the place really and have lately been a week (ish) late and my facial skin is getting pretty bad. I don't need them cuz I would never have sex outside marriage but i thought I'd ask if birth control pills would help or make things worse...
1388445 tn?1289267388 Hello, Acne after the age of 30 or more is referred to as Adult Acne. They occur due to hormonal imbalance at this age. Just keep you face clean by washing with a mild soap atleast twice a day. Pat it dry and do not rub it. Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face.
Avatar n tn m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????
Avatar n tn s cyclic outbreaks, this could be due to hormonal changes in your body. Aside from hormonal changess during mentruation, the following have been found to make acne worse: oil-based makeup, suntan oil and hair products, stress, squeezing or picking at blemishes and hard scrubbing of the skin. It is important to clean your face everyday and avoid harsh chemicals. Over-the-counter acne medications may also help. There are plenty of people with the same situation you are in.

Avatar n tn I've always had issues with acne the majority of my teen to adult life. The only thing I've ever kinda found to help was tanning beds, obviously now I'm pregnant I've stopped and my skin is so gross! Anyone have any natural remedy solutions or products? I'm sick of it!
Avatar f tn I don't believe they are typically related, however, alcoholism can severely throw your system out of alignment (as can withdrawal for a little while) - diet, sleep patterns, social activities - EVERYTHING is going through a change so, I'd try to consider what is causing the acne? Hormonal changes, oily skin, change of season, new skin lotions/creams, etc... and work in reverse order.
