Avatar n tn Although Macafem is 100% all natural with no known side effects, since you have a family history of breast cancer, you should consult with your doctor first. Macafem works in an entire different way than synthetic hormone drugs do. This herbal supplement won't increase or decrease any specific hormone, but it will regulate the hormonal system as a whole by stimulating your body's own production of hormones.
Avatar f tn I start taking this and it finally help with my terrible acne. I have acne in my back, face and chest. Some its really deep and leave marks everywhere. Go to a dermatologis, and try different treatments. Good luck!!!
Avatar f tn So, I had to fill out a questionaire with a million questions before I see an RE at the end of the month. One of the questions was about acne, and whether I have it or not. What does having acne mean? (I've heard getting acne can be a sign of something, I just can't remember what) Lately, I've been having so many breakouts, and today noticed I had some back acne. Gross! I never had acne before.
Avatar f tn I had the same problem. I had bad hormonal breakouts. If I was in birth control or pregnant I didn't have a problem. I had other side effects from birth control so I decided to get off of it and the acne returned. I tried everything OTC for acne. I even tried proactive and it did nothing for me. So then I realized it was related to my hormones. I found a natural treatment. It's an herb called vitex fruit. It can take a couple of your cycles to take affect.
Avatar f tn Several factors are usually considered to cause acne such as diet, stress, genetic, dirt hormonal imbalances, cosmetics, work-related and drugs. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar f tn Oh welcome to the club. Sorry my face so awful till 10 or 11 weeks that was unreal. I'm 34 and still having adult acne on top of hormonal acne. They can't give you too much stuff like meds for it right now. You gotta hold on and later it should get better. After I delivered my 2nd baby my face was awful again. Yeah ... hormonal craziness. But I use tea tree oil pads off of amazon to clean my face with. Very natural and it does help to reduce inflammation.
Avatar f tn Try not to be too hard on yourself though because acne in pregnancy is hormonal and there is only so much you can do for hormonal acne... The good news is it will clear up eventually. Also drink LOTS of water, this helped my acne a lot... It's the best way to flush out toxins in your body that contribute to acne. Ps. Don't use products containing retinol or salicylic acid because they can be unsafe in pregnancy if over used.
Avatar m tn when i was ten i experience hormonal imbalance. many changes happens pubic hair started to grow, i even grow tall, my voice changes which is very unnatural for a person like me. Due to lack of money my mother didn`t put interst on it. I grow as a happy and jolly person even if i am conscious facing my problem. I laugh even if i`m not happy just to be happy and just to hide what ihave..Would somebody know what is my disease? pls. help... plssssss..
Avatar f tn try eating oatmeal and cut out sugar...I started eating oatmeal and my skin cleared very nicely. I have hormonal acne, I don't use any topical medication as it is b.s.! I can tell you one thing, if you are over 30 and still have acne...there is probably a hormonal imbalance. Think about balancing youself from within. Diet and excersize increase my blood circulation and improve my skin drastically.
5787844 tn?1376078984 Lol I was given sprintec pills but I was thinking of trying natural or non hormonal methods birth control. Tracking, condoms, etc. I have been on hormonal birth control pretty much since I was 17. I can't loose weight very easily. The last year has left me with greasy, and yet somehow brittle hair. Horrid acne. Heavy periods, and extra weight. My doctor shrugged me off when I mentioned being concerned with weight gain. Saying it's not that common.
Avatar f tn Here is the comparison between Sprintec vs. Tri-Sprintec. Yes, Sprintec contains the same level of hormones as in the third week of the Tri Sprintec (Day 15-21). Sprintec has the same amount of hormones for the 3 weeks of active pills, while the Tri-Sprintec increases in norgestimate each week. Sprintec®: Day 1-21: Ethinyl estradiol 0.035 mg and norgestimate 0.25 mg (28s) [21 blue tablets] Day 22-28: 7 white inactive tablets (28s) Tri-Sprintec®: Day 1-7: Ethinyl estradiol 0.
1769312 tn?1313863170 It could be acne. I get one or two pimples each month with my period. They're usually on my face, but sometimes they're on my back, my scalp, or my arms. If it is acne, remember that flare-ups are caused by surges in hormones, and any number of things natural (like periods) and womanmade (like obesity) can cause hormonal disturbances. I'm not sure if you mean the bumps recur in the exact same spot or not.
Avatar n tn Several factors are usually considered to cause acne such as diet, stress, genetic, dirt hormonal imbalances, cosmetics, work-related and drugs. You can prevent and treat acne by changing your lifestyle like eating proper diet, getting a good amount of sleep and drink at least eight glasses of water daily. You can also treat acne by cleaning your face regularly, using skincare products, apply antibacterial topical medications.
Avatar n tn I am 25 (F) with a lot of acne problem on my face. i even did my hormonal test which hv shown normal results. i have tried everything else but nothing has help. i m getting married in 4 months. should i still consider hormonal treatment or go on accutane?
Avatar f tn I am 16 weeks and have been having the worst acne all over my face and chest. It is becoming a problem. My face is very greasy I have to wash it 5 times a day. Even that isnt enough. I hate using the grease fighting acne face scrubs because of all the chemicals. Is there a better solution to this? Maybe a natural scrub/cream?! Also does it get any better or worse the more pregnant I get?
Avatar f tn Anyways, I went to my doctor multiple times in a desperate attempt to find a pill or medication that could clear my acne, and was even considering Accutane during that bout of acne last year (doc said no because I was on antidepressants at the time). I've tried everything from clindamycin to minocyclin to tretinoin to bactrim (which gave me a rash and high fever, turns out I'm allergic to it) to birth control pills... to no avail.
Avatar n tn I had a total thyroidectomy in April 2008 and iodine radiation treatment in May, then started on 175mcg's of Synthroid. In August I started experiencing severe cystic acne. A dermatologist put me on an antibiotic and a topical cream. The cysts on my face are gone which left bad scars but now I have severe bumps, like a red rash all over my face. I have never had acne and I know this must be hormonal.
Avatar f tn Hey, in the beginning of my pregnancy I was also suffering from hormonal pregnancy acne and I continued to maintain a good skin routine and find that it's really helped keep the acne at bay. I still have some spots but not nearly and many as at first. I wash my face morning and night with a gentle cleanser and then exfoliate 3 times a week with a scrub or exfoliating gel. I also change my pillow cases and wash my makeup brushes regularly.
Avatar m tn My 23 year old daughter was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis several years ago. One of the symptoms she developed was cystic acne, which we were told can be caused by the colitis. She's presently on Liadyl and her ulcerative colitis is under control but the cystic acne will not go away. She goes to the dermatologist constantly for injections, but the cysts just go down for a day and come right back up again. The dermatologist has given her a few prescriptions but nothing helps at all.
Avatar n tn I had some decent back acne and face pimples first trimester but they all went away 2nd trimester... It's purely new rushes of hormones that are causing it... Nothing you put on your skin will help and no hormone/drug treatment will be safe for pregnancy. It's just something you have to ride out... Hopefully your hormones settle soon and you get back to normal!
Avatar m tn Your eating habits should not have a direct effect on acne, since acne is caused by bacteria and hormonal fluctuations affect it. Yes, some foods MAY trigger an attack in some people, but I'm yet to see this in my case. Sometimes our skin gets used to certain topical medicines. If that's the case, the doctor will change it for you or combine it with other meds.
Avatar f tn s most likely not food related or skin products, could it be hormonal? And if it is hormonal what can I do about this rash? Is there some kind of cream I can buy over the counter for it? Due to insurance reasons I can't see a dermatologist. I've tried looking this rash up online and I'm just not coming to any real conclusions. The rash is not crusty, flaky or dry...just red.
Avatar m tn Are you watching your diet-getting lots of water, fruit, veggies? Have you tried different facial cleaners/soaps?
Avatar f tn If you have an Implanon and are getting a lot of symptoms that sound hormonally related, one thing to do is to remove the Implanon and go on another form of birth control that doesn't involve hormones (such as condoms and foam or an IUD), to let your body go back to its normal hormone cycles. Do this for two or three months and see if your cycles regulate, and how you feel. Keep a journal, it will help you see patterns. Then see how you're doing with the symptoms you list.
