I am really wondering what the symptoms would be after 1 year. Would you notice that your skin has aged 10 years after being infected for 1 year. Would you have sores on your scalp. Is there anyone who is infected or has real knowledge as to what a person would notice after 1 year of infection. There seems to be a lot of info about what will happen 2 - 4 weeks after exposure but I can not seem to get an answer as to what I would notice after 1 year.

I had an exposure in a Bangkok brothel 1 year ago (unprotected vaginal). 13 days after I experienced the following symptoms:
fever for 2 weeks
headaches on and off for 4 weeks
blisters on feet and hands for 2 months
rash on face and chest for 2 weeks
fungal infections on nails for 3 months
dry cough for 2 weeks
dry skin
heavy white coating on tongue
muscular pain
I have tested for HIV 15 different times (10 ELISA and 5 PCR). All negative results and tested between 3 months and 11 months.
Finally i decided last month to take test after 1 year of anxiety and i went to a famous lab in Egypt and considerd the biggest in the middle east and took a test .
The test called : hiv antibody (aids) test and it's a cheap one .
I gave my blood in the morning and got my result in evening .
It came back ; negative
My question is : does that test search for the antibodies of all strains and types of hiv ? And can that test gives false negative ?
I am 29, Male, 5 years ago I had vaginal sex (condom used) with a female sex worker. since then I didn't have sex with anyone. Last month I took STD testing. test was for HIV 1&2, Hep B & C, HSV 1&2, syphilis, chlamydia. All results were non reactive. Now I am worried about HPV. I know there no screening test for men. Can I assume hpv has been cleared in this time. I have not got any geintal wart ever.
HIV is inactivated in saliva, HIV is inactivated in air. Those are 2 reasons you and everyone else in 40 year HIV history can't have HIV from oral sex despite cuts, chapped lips etc. So you wasted your time testing.
Symptoms aren't used to diagnose HIV and you have no medical training, so it is not surprising that you are puzzled trying to self-diagnose what a test has proven you don't have.
Everyone gets flu but few have HIV.
I was tested for HIV after 6 weeks and 12 weeks of exposure with “HIV quick test Abbott” in an international clinic in vietnam. Both results are NEGATIVE. At that time, the doctor advised me that I don’t need to be tested for Herpes since I did not have any symptoms. I am still very worried till this day every time I think if I am infected with Herpes or HIV. And I get very nervous just thinking about taking the test and waiting for results.

In addition, I forgot to mention that Gonorrhea might cause these symptoms 2 to 14 days after infection... but the odds of this are very low because this happens in cases of disseminated Gonococcal infection which only occurs in 1% of men and women.
There's a higher likelihood you are experiencing simple flu symptoms and nothing more though.

The high risk kind is what can lead to cervical cancer, and men can have that and have no signs or symptoms. The low risk kind is what gives you genital warts, and you can also have that and show no symptoms.
If you do get symptoms of hpv, they can show within a month or two, or take years to show. About 80% will have HPV in their lifetimes, though most won't know it.
Herpes sores typically show up within 2-20 days, but not always.
m not sure about current estimates of the prevalence of HIV in London area men who have sex with men. One in 7 sounds too high for gay men in general, but it could be true for some, e.g. those who are frequently and outwardly unsafe (frequent anonymous partners, barebacking, etc). The GUM clinic will know; or you could look up information from the UK Health Protection Agency (HPA); I imagine they have a website and/or a public information phone number.
t sound to be risky partner. In industrialized countries most men with hiv are man having sex with men. I think the chance your partner has hiv is below 1% and even when he wpuld be infected the chance of transmission men to female with vaginal sex is less then 1 time per 500 acts. The sti I would think about for you is only gonno or chlamydia. I don't know which anti biotic has been given but if the correct ones your sti free. The symptoms you mentioned doesn't sound like sti.
