Avatar n tn I switched from NP Thyroid to Nature-Throid about a month ago, and the bumps have become red, itchy, and stinging, and flare up with no apparent cause. It feels like my face has a rash. It seems to be a bit better in the morning and then gets angry throughout the day. I've taken myself off thyroid meds for the past two days and I felt this morning like it was beginning to get better, but I just had a flare-up for seemingly no reason--itchy stinging redness on the face...
Avatar m tn If it is arteritic then large doses of oral cortison are needed to get the sed rate down. The section on emedicine is especially good. If its non-arteritic there is no treatment for the eye problem and visual recovery is usually good. Again emedicine entry is excellent.
Avatar m tn s a very complicated disease and not easy to describe. I suggest you do internet search on WebMD or emedicine and see if you have any further questions. Starbursts are not a common symptoms in AZOOR and more suggestive of cataracts, cornea problems, need for glasses or new glasses RX or macular problems.
Avatar n tn ARS happens from 2-6 weeks post HIV Infection but not everyone gets it. The rash associated with HIV would generally NOT appear after this time, maybe it would in people taking anti HIV meds but that's a big MAYBE. Bottom line ARS 2-6 weeks post exposure Inc Rash.

Avatar m tn t matter what other symptoms you are experiencing- even a rash. It does NOT mean HIV because you do not have it. If you are truly worried about your symptoms then see your doctor, but remember it is not HIV-related because you had a conclusive negative result. You're fine.
Avatar m tn I am guessing from what I have read having HIV from this oral episode is unlikely because, oral is low risk, a rash at 6 weeks is too late for ARS, a rash is something rare as HIV is concerned, and a fever usually occurs with the rash. Also I had a root canal and crown done about a month or two before this episode. The crown was having a hard time fitting correct and irraitted my gums some, not sure if it ever bled, but would this increase my risk at all?
Avatar n tn Unless half your finger was hanging off, you haven't had a risk. You don't get HIV from fingering someone.
Avatar f tn The chances are low that you were infected as you went in protected-test only for peace of mind @ 3 months if you need to, otherwise you should be fine.

Avatar m tn I noticed the other day that I had little red bumps on my left elbow, and they faded within two days, and I noticed that I had the same little bumps on my right elbow. I had a possible HIV encounter about a year ago, I was told that I had nothing to worry about. So I was never tested. Is this a possible symptom of HIV, is a year too late to be experiencing this symptom?
Avatar f tn As Teak has stated, you rash does NOT present a rash observed during ARS. If you have had UNPROTECTED SEX with a partner of unknown HIV status, you should obtain an HIV Antibody test 3 months after the episode. Nothing you are experiencing is in any way indicative or specific to HIV.
Avatar m tn recently I developed very itchy legs and some spot on my side. Could this be an HIV rash? There are no individual spots on my legs, just red areas around the hair follicles. There is nothing on my back or face. some redness on my upper chest but only around where the hair is. I'm freaking out. Can't work, sleep, or sit still.
Avatar m tn so recently i was diagnosed with mono i was over it in about 2 weeks but at the end of the 2 weeks i developed a mesal like rash on both my feet, its very small and doesn't itch and isnt anywhere else on my body. on my follow up appointment my doctor said its probably from the mono virus but she would test my blood anyways to check my platled levles. should i be worried and if i was infected would they be able to see in the blood tests if they werent looking for hiv.
