hi all, i had unprotected vaginal sex with lady unknown HIV status , after 20 days i took screening test using ELISA methode 4th generation the result is negative , and then on 35 days i took same test but the lab technician told me that he only detect antibody because P24 antigen detected on few weeks after exposure , meaning on 2nd test ( 35 days ) only antibody test but using ELISA 4th gen. any expert can explain how the accurate my test?

got a tridot test done at 6 weeks it has come negative, but I have read its accuracy is only 99% should i undergo Elisa test, plz help I am in great mental delima and also which is better Tridot test or Elisa. Thanx in Advance May I request Teak or somebody to answer the question.

cmia reported to be positive in that report ELISA is negative. Having actually done some research since, I understand that WB tests are almost always used as confirmatory tests following a positive ELISA. Regardless, I was wondering if I could consider this test definitive, as it was taken 8 weeks following my potential exposure.

The ELISA test was conclusive. You never mentioned that you had an ELISA test.

Any HIV test is conclusive at 3 months whether it's a lab or rapid test. Doesn't matter what kind or type of test. You need to deal with your anxiety and stop searching and googling. You don't have HIV.

I was unconvincing and ask her to get a test at 12 weeks and it was NEGATIVE (not sure she is lying and only told Anti-HIV test).I get myself a blood test in the lab at (9,11,14 weeks) post exposure its HIV 1/2 Elisa ( not sure what generation) and all came back NEGATIVE.I'm still not sure i can put all this behind me because some information site required 6 month follow-up test for high risk case.Do i still have to wait 6 month to be conclusive or put my anxiety to rest?

Although Hiv DUO test has not been approved by FDA, one can take P24 and Antibody test seperately at the same day which will be the same accuracy with Hiv DUO test. 4th Gen Hiv Tests are conclusive after 6 week according to MAss, NYC, Australia. I think we are passing a timezone in reduction of Window period for HIV just as we had in almost 10 years ago. Window period was 1 year, then 6 month and finaly somewhere 2003, it is 3 month.
