If someone contracted HIV which over time tunred into AIDS, would the Home Access HIV test still be effective? I believe the at home tests look for HIV, but if the HIV turned into actual AIDS would the at home test be able to identify this? Thank you.

I went to the doc for an hiv test along with the other common stds at 3 or 4 weeks. Not sure what type but blood was used (negative). I later started to develope a rash that looked like red pimples on my ribs that also started to cover my upper back and a few on my thighs and arms. At about this time a started to get swollen lymph nodes under both arms that you could see (Several red sore bumps). The bumps went away after about a week and came back a week or two later.

HIV has been around for over 30 years and there is no reason not to know how HIV is transmitted. Did you call your doctor and ask them or did you just go and get an HIV test and put your child through unwarranted stress? Any doctor would have advised you that your son didn't have an HIV concern.

I accepted this invitation, in hope that if these counts where low and that i was right it would show in these final test. My CD4 count was 1400, which meant that i was more than healthy and i lossed my mind. i though well how could it be possible. I did not read wrong. The doctor in this site has also mentioned it. I read his comments on this on two.separate threads. Can you guys tell me what test I can take that doesn't test for antibodies but the HIV itself. Like what test will someone showing advanced AIDS symptoms but keeps testing negative for antibodies. Serereversion in advance AIDS patients is documented. I been having diarrhea, and losing weight, and having many bacterial infections.

The HIV test is totally different from the test that you had. Your test sounds like a complete blood count. If you feel the need for being tested for HIV, please, by all means, ask your doctor to please have you tested. It is a specialized test and must be marked "HIV" for the test requested. After finding the candida, the dr came in frantic and ordered that I have an HIV test because he had never seen this in anyone but aids patients. I was tested for HIV back in August, and the result was negative. I did have the test done, and in the mean time went to the drug store and took a home test- results were negative. You will always test positive on an HIV test if you have HIV,even 20 years later.

t find any hiv, so if a person has slept with somebody who has aids can the test still detect the aids virus after 2 or 3 years even when a person is close enough to die with aids do they still produce antibodies?

I just found out about 12 years ago my mate was unfaithful and i have gotten tested recently with an third generation eia antibody test hiv1/2 with reflexes, a rapid blood test, 4 oraquick home tests and all came back negative. But ive read ur post that some people with aids antibodies wont show on those tests. Im very scared that im in that stage and the tests i took arent sufficient enough to know for sure.

Thanks...sooo i do not need to take a test?...I'm not sexually active. But i red that u can get HIV AIDS from small cuts and it really got me worried. I cant sleep at night thinking about it.
