Avatar f tn 20) Over the last few years I have increased my thyroid dosage starting very low and now at the high end. I feel better each time I increase but never feeling like I can be at my optimal best. I do not feel I have symptoms of hyperthyroidism as my tests are indicating. My primary physician wanted me to stop dosage on Sundays to balance my levels. Do you think this is the best approach? What do high T3 levels do when you don't have hyper symptoms?
976978 tn?1248769300 I meant unclear exactly what kind of thyroid problem -- ie thyroiditis vs hot nodule vs graves vs abnormal labs of uncertain significance......vs possible pituitary issue.... would see an endocrinologist to sort this out. It is an unusual situation to have consistently normal TSH/T4 and high T3.

Avatar n tn It means you will need to take thyroid medicine. What has your Dr. told you. Mine was 20 last week so my meds were increased I take Levoxyl. The reason mine went so high in my opinion is because I stopped taking the Levoxyl for a month or so. Felt lousy so had my blood tested and voila! Now I return in 6 weeks for another blood test to find the numbers. Maybe I will stay on the dose or it may need to be adjusted. This was my fault for stopping. They told me they like mine around 2.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been having some problems lately and thought they may be my thyroid as I have Graves disease which leads to hyperthyroidism and my doctor had recently given me my lab slip so I went and got my blood work done. Today I called and the receptionist told me my TSH is really low and my T3 is high. What I want to know because she couldn't tell me is what is dangerously low? Below are my levels. TSH - 0.02 T3 - 3.79 T4 - 1.
Avatar n tn I have calcium levels in the low to mid 10's, PTH high normal. I had a scan which showed adenoma below right thyroid. I then went for an ultrasound and am now frightened.
Avatar n tn Hi! It does sound like Graves, but you need a free t-3 test, not uptake. I think that might be outdated. He might be saying hashitoxicosis because of your antibodies. I had these higher than yours at diagnosis and my doc said t-3 toxicosis (early manifestation of Graves) Still don't have an answer to this antibody issue as I dropped my endo last year. He never explained it to me. Thought at first I had sub acute thyroiditis Five months later he put me on meds..
Avatar m tn Well, my lab uses a wide AM range of 4 - 22 mcg/dl for for morning blood cortisol.
Avatar f tn keeps lowering the dose since my TSH is low (0.05) and Free T4 is high normal. I am sluggish, gaining weight and confused about why he thinks he needs to keep lowering my dosage. I don't have any Hyperthyroid symptoms. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should recommend to have my Dr. check.
Avatar n tn It all depends on your TSH levels and/or symptoms and why you had the partial done (cancer vs. non cancer, etc.) If you have the TSH labs that may be helpful to give some feedback.
Avatar m tn Your iron or ferritin may be low. Its good that RT3 is low. If it is high you have to get on T3 medicine. Try changing your diet for brain fog. Eliminate sugar, dairy and gluten from your diet, include lots of fresh vegetables and fermented food. Take a good quality multivitamin, fish oil and probiotics. Try it for month, I'm sure you will see the difference.
Avatar f tn //www.medhelp.org/posts/Thyroid-Disorders/High-TPO-Ab/show/1545417 I saw an improvement of 80 IU in six months (550 IU down to 470 IU) eating about 3 to 4 brazil nuts daily. Brazil nuts are high in selenium (50 to 90 mcg per nut depending on the soil).
Avatar m tn s necessary to test for TgAb, even though your TPO antibodies are high? Does the presenc eof TPO antibodies alone, coupled with low free t3 and free t4 mean that you definitely have Hashomoto's? Thank you.
550622 tn?1247656720 Keep monitoring it every few weeks, and if it starts to get really high, then I would definitely insist that it be fixed by treating your thyroid problem (if you aren't already taken some sort of medication). It'd be really dangerous, otherwise.
Avatar m tn The TSH is too low -- the low T4 is normal w/ armour. the T3 level will depend on timing of dose vs timing of lab - so would not read too much into it. The Armour 120mg seems to high for you.
Avatar f tn Any other thyroid testing bw wise was normal. She ordered a thyroid uptake. And it was really abnormal. She told Me thst it doesn't match my bw. It said my result were consistent with graves. Has anyone has this problem? My symptoms are horrible stomach issues horrible reflux rib pain muscle pains and fatigue all the time. This is ruining my life! I am miserable and I snap on my kids all the time. This isn't me! Someone please give me some advise or experiences??
Avatar f tn s most likely high because of your very low FT4 level. Your TSH is telling you that your pituitary wants your thyroid (if you had one) to produce more T4. Now you have to provide this through meds. Naturethroid has a relatively high T3 content compared to its T4 content. You might find that you have to add some T4-only meds to your regimen. Your antibody levels look to be in range???
Avatar f tn This SLOWS down metabolism. So in Thyroid terms that would be low thyroid or more commonly known as hypothyroidism or Hypo for short. Hypo most common symptoms are; chronic fatigue, cold hands & feet, low body temperature, inability to take cold temperatures, always bundled up when others seem fine, loss of hair, brittle hair, dry skin, brain "fog", low libido, weight gain/inability to lose weight regardless of amount of exercise. Depression & sometimes anxiety.
Avatar f tn I got an ultrasound done, and it turned out I have a thyroid nodule. The dr said it was benign, but I am curious to know how he came to the conclusion without doing a biopsy? I didn't think ultrasounds could tell whether a nodule was benign or cancerous. Am I wrong?
Avatar m tn ) but you may want to add a tiny bit of T3 - I cannot tell if you are on the low end or high end of the range of free T3. My doc likes high ends.
Avatar f tn now it was fluctuating from high to low. now im told its high but he didnt put me on meds.....but said check in 4 to 6 weeks but id be three months and a week then.
Avatar f tn Could you explain more about the GERD comment about low vs. high stomach acid? And what that would mean as far as symptoms go? I can't tell you how much it means to me to have someone care enough to respond to a stranger with help and understanding. Been feeling so alone and sick. You've made my day!
