very high protein in urine is not uncommon in late stage kidney disease, if this were the case though and to be that high, you should ahve other tell tale symptoms, I really would get a simple blood test to check your kidney function though.

I suffer from high "protein in urine" or high creatinine levels, now it's 2.4, but it was higher. I reccommend you read Dr. Walser's book on a low-protein, low-phoshorus diet to avoid dialysis. Your kidney doctor will probably tell you to go on a low-protein diet, but won't give you specifics. Dr. Walser's book explains the diet. It's rather hard diet to stick with, but beats the alternative.

I had the same problem about a month ago. The cause for concern is that high levels of protein in urine is an indication of preeclampsia . However if it is low, like yours measured they will just monitor your blood pressure and any swelling you get.

I had low blood pressure with my first and before we could leave the hospital it became very high and stayed that way for 6 months and then went back to normal, then with my second it got high around 6 months and I started getting trace amounts of protein in my urine so they put me on a blood pressure medicine and we made it to 39 weeks for our scheduled c-section without pre-eclampsia.

What are some foods that are high in protein besides chicken and beef? This pregnancy meat isnt sitting real well with me and I'm wondering if my lack of protein could be why I continuously keep getting sick... I have traces if protein in my urine as well and had high blood pressure. Doctor made me pee in a jug for a whole day and turn it in. turned out I had a uti. Never had one before and heard they were painful. I told doctor that I wasn't in any pain or discomfort. My doctor said because we are pregnant some symtoms won't show. So it really could. Be a uti. Don't worry to much about it.

Is anyone else suffering with high blood pressure? No protein detected in urine so I don't think it's pre aclampsia. How are u all trying to bring it down?

All she said about it was that i dont need to worry about it unless i start spilling protein in my urine or if i start getting headaches that dont go away with medicine. are you eating a normal diet? or is it a diet high in protein? try to drink some Gatorade, you electrolytes might be off which could be the problem. If you are getting dizzy when you stand up, I would go to the ER and get some IV fluids with as much as you are puking.

Pre eclampsia means my body is not producing enough blood for whatever reason which is making my liver and kidneys over work so my body is not absorbing protein. High protein in urine can be extremely dangerous for me and baby. Causing seizures or other heart problems. My protein is border line which means they caught it early. A sign of it is high BP which is how they knew to test my urine.

I have also had persistent bad headaches some dizziness shortness of breath and fatigue. but no high blood pressure so am I preeclamptic or not? Would it be mild or severe? What is the treatment for this while pregnant? Ik the only cure is delivery.any ladies with experience please reply.thanks!

So im 30 wks and i went to dr today and they found protein and white blood cells in my urine... My blood pressure was good but still worried about pre eclampsia. I feel like i had it undiagnosed with my first and have been worrying about getting it this time. Then with protein in my urine im getting even more worried. Any insite?

My blood pressure was a bit high with my first, and again with my second, but I just ask them to take it after I've sat for a few minutes instead of right after I get into the office, and it usually goes down. As long as there's not a high amount of protein in your urine, you should be fine. High BP plus protein in your urine can be a sign of preeclampsia, but try not to stress about it. You'll know in a few days.
