It's called LCHF, and it is based on low carb, moderate protein and high fat way of eating. Best part is that no calorie counting, eat until full. Also, it canceled my cravings and I no longer snack anymore.

Avatar f tn Home cooking is indeed a good alternative, but be aware my recipes all include pretty high fat amounts (due to meat and coconut oil content), so I would not use them without adapting them. The lowest fat content poultry is turkey breast without the skin. Unfortunately it is medium in terms of phosphorus content, so it could be used occasionally, as long as the phosphorus level in the blood results is under good control. Chicken breast without skin is a good option too.
Avatar f tn m on a very strict nutritional program and typically eat two (6 ounce) servings of meat (chicken breast or eye of round) and 1-2 whey protein shakes per day. Different things I've read says that meat is to be limited to 5 ounces per day and no whey. Does anyone have any information on how our protein levels are reached with these limitations? I cannot eat nuts and one can only eat so many egg whites in a day.
Avatar n tn It might help you lose weight, depending on how small the portions are, but it's not healthy... You aren't eating anything that has protein, at all and what you're eating has very few vitamins/minerals, like B-12, calcium, etc. You need to add some type of meat, dairy, eggs, beans, legumes or something with protein and since vitamin B-12 only comes from animal products you either need to supplement or add some of those animal products to your diet.

I also need to remind myself to eat, as I'm not hungry anymore (I used to be ravenous all day long). Basic meal is VEGETABLE + PROTEIN (meat, fish, eggs) + FAT. Example is egg omelette with bacon and asparagus.

My GI said to make smoothies with the boost, add some ice cream for calories, a banana for potassium/nutrients/light fat, etc. I don't really eat any veggies or fruit (just while I'm flaring), unless they're low fiber like plain white soft potatoes.
