protein

Avatar f tn Hi. There are very many causes for high protein levels in a dog's urine, the most common being diet - though other causes can be more serious. I would start writing down everything you are feeding her, including all treats, and then pass this information on to your vet when you next see them.
Avatar f tn You have A large amount of blood in your urine which suggest that you may have inflammation or infection somewhere. Your red and white blood count are in normal ranges. The color of your urine is yellow/straw (normal) and the clarity is good. Everything else is in normal ranges as well. Talk to your doc to about the blood in urine if they have not already contacted you.
Avatar n tn t eaten in at least 14 hours, and my diet is fairly balanced and healthy, not extremely high in carbs or sugar. None of my doctors have ever suspected diabetes, but about a year and a half ago a random glucose test was normal (85). I am 35, female, 5ft 3 1/2 and 114lbs so my weight is pretty healthy.
Avatar f tn I typically run high protein and have perfect uneventful pregnancies otherwise. (Just delivered Thurs). There can be many factors, but for me it was just my diet. In general I am a big meat, bean, all around protein eater and my body stores it longer, or digests it slower. So they will just watch and make sure it isnt something else causing it and if it levels out they'll make sure it isnt causing any other issues.
Avatar n tn I had high protein 2 weeks ago. Tested again this week and it was normal. Most women test high at some point in pregnancy, doesn't mean anything unless you get more than one in a row. I hadn't eaten much 2 weeks ago, that was probably the reason it was high for me. Dehydration can be another reason. Odds are you have nothing to worry about, just take it as it comes. Good luck, and congrats on the baby!
Avatar f tn m hearing a lot about kidney issues and wonder if my dog is at risk because of his high protein diet.
Avatar n tn He or she may recommend a urine analysis, which can detect protein in urine. If protein is detected in your urine, your doctor likely will recommend additional tests to determine the cause." www.mayoclinic.com/health/foamy-urine/AN01702 Have you noticed whether there has been a change in the disinfectant used in the flush since the time you started noticing the foamy urine? Was there any protein detected on your urinalysis? Have you noticed any change in urine color?
Avatar m tn For weeks I had really bad chronic abdominal pain on my right side. I couldn't laugh it hurt so bad. Then I had a MRI they said they saw stool. Now I went to the plasma center my protein levels were high so I couldn't give blood. They say my protein was high because fatty foods. Is this reason I feel tired and don't have regular periods, breast milk dried?
Avatar f tn hi, its usually dectcted in a number of ways,urinalysis-protein, high blood pressure and raised liver enzymes in a blood test.how many weeks pregnant are you??do you have headaches, blurred vision and heart burn??
Avatar f tn BUN is higher than normal, so it may be there is something going on. I would strongly advise your vet does a urinalysis and looks for protein leakage. If there are proteins in the urine, then kidney disease is more likely. I wrote a list of blood values and how they are interpreted, which you may find useful. You can access that document through MedHelp: http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Pets/Canine-Blood-Chemistry-Results-Reference-Guide/show/1296?cid=3 Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn A successful diet plan should contain high protein diet, protein is useful in the matter of weight reduction in light of the fact that it is hard to process. This implies that you will feel full more aside from the way that protein makes you feel full quicker. Make sure, high protein eating plan just conveys extensive weight reduction results when the consumption of carbs is limited.
20022623 tn?1489116397 I am feeding Royal Canin Renal wet food (NOT dry) and I also supplement with a little protein (since the renal food is low protein and protein restriction is controversial in early to moderate kidney disease) and other low phosphorus foods since my dog is picky and won't eat the canned food alone. Low phosphorus is important in kidney disease.
1415174 tn?1453243103 There is so much literature out there that shows how bad it is to eat a high fat diet and too much meat. Yet a lot of people are on the Paleo diet including some friends. It is very acidic. Well, that is my opinion. Of course genetics plays a role too.
Avatar f tn I currently am feeding him Orijen Six Fish, which he loves. It is fairly high in protein, but he has a history of food allergies so I would hate to change his diet unless I knew for sure that it would help. When he went to the vet a few weeks ago they did take a urine sample. His USG was 1.020, his protein was 1+ (I was told that this is some protein but still in the normal range), and he had no blood or bacteria in his urine.
Avatar f tn s nearly impossible with 2000 mg of sodium limit daily. I hit the protein shake w/ chick pea n hemp protein. The whey protein made me tired. Too much bad protein can bring on HE. You'll find your balance where you can feel good. Lots of protein bars and dry cereals have high protein and I consume a lot of those!
Avatar f tn s (beer has a lot of carbs and sugar). According to one book I read a high protein diet can cause excess protein in your urine and cause stones which are never fun. I have frequent kidney problems since they are malformed, and so I have found one GREAT TRICK with juice that will prevent an infection if it is done when you first feel irritation (before the infection has set it). Throughout the day I drink only water and cranberry juice, watch the sugar intake, but the rest of my diet is normal.

6850426 tn?1385499085 BUN levels can increase with the amount of protein in the diet whilst low protein diets can cause low BUN levels. You should speak with your doctor with regard to the results of your test, but as you have been informed that there is no abnormality, then things are fine. As you have a positive blood result for rheumatoid arthritis, you should be getting medical help for this. RA is an autoimmune disorder and affects soft tissues as well as bones.
Avatar n tn Here's my take, for what it's worth. Calories aren't a very good guide to weight -- they're a factor but how you metabolize your food is more important. Also realize that most of the people in the world who have been studied for having the healthiest lives eat a lot of carbs -- they aren't on high protein diets. We all know that vegetables are the healthiest foods and should make up the largest portion of our diets, but they are all carbs.
