High protein diet negative effects

Common Questions and Answers about High protein diet negative effects

protein

Hi, I have asked myself this question quite a lot of times in the past years, as I was not enough motivated to go for a diet or sports. Last year, for the first time of my life I went for a diet - it was a high protein, low-carbs diet, and I really got rid of all the extra pounds and even more. For that time I also did fitness and swimming. It took me 6 months to get rid of my extra weight, and bear in mind, that were only 22 lbs, meaning they were not too much.
Most of them had positive results and only a few reported negative effects. There were a lot of people using it sucessuflly for acid reflux, heartburn, and nausea. Sounds like just the thing to me! There were also several reports that it was treating thyroid disfunction sucessfully. I have had hypothyroidism since my second round of tx for the HCV so again this stuff seems like it might be of benifit.
is it my diet? diet or exercise? diet and exercise and supplementation? There does seem to be people out there with not the best of lifestyles, yet they seem to benefit from supps...it's so complicated... Usually, considering the small amount of studies taken on these issues, a person who is likely to be taking supplementation is usually the sort of person who is also eating well and exercising...usually...
Any drastic, sudden change in your diet can shock your system and have negative health effects especially if you're cutting out something your body is used to. Simply doing it is not likely to cause any major health issues (although check with your doctor on this), but adjusting to the lifestyle and doing it healthfully is another story. Vegan, as I'm sure you are aware, means absolutely no animal products whatsoever.
Hi, I hope someone can link me to information on the anti fibrotic diet, supplements etc.
See #2. 2) This diet requires prolonged and severe calorie restriction. While some forms of the diet might be so liberal as to allow 700 calories, the most common recommendations hover in the 500 calorie range. That’s a bagel with cream cheese - for an entire day. Sure, you will lose weight, but ultimately isn’t the goal is to get healthier?
No fruits, sweets, high sugar vegetables, fruit juices or starches (potatoes, squashes, white rice, grains other than brown rice), Eat a high protein breakfast, such as egg white omelet with spinach, cooked broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, some form of meat - tad of low fat cheese, some fresh veggies. Lunch - cooked vegetables, water, herbal tea, decaf, some form of protein such as egg, broiled chicken turkey, lean beef (stay away from lunchmeats - full of gluten and preservatives).
//www.sweetpoison.com/aspartame-side-effects.html http://www.sweetpoison.com/articles/0706/aspartame_symptoms_submit.html --- Aspartame Symptoms Submitted to the FDA I'm not sure now which diet drinks are still using aspartame, but if you drink diet soda... I would seriously start checking.
I stopped losing the last week and decided to try another mont (at a total cost of $1,450 dollars) I am fanatic in sticking to Simeon's very restrictive and boring diet. Are the injections more effective than the oral? Has the cost been more than anyone else has paid. I am desparate to lose the last 10lbs to reach a weight of 135 on my 5' 2in frame..
I have decided to change my dogs diet to the Canine Cancer Diet... low carb, high fat, high protein, homecooked. I have already added fish oil supplement (human grade) I squeeze it out of the liquid capsule and the same for Vitamin E. First... I have read conflicting information about the types of Omegas some say you need 3 & 6, while others say not to Omega 6 because it can cause cancer to grow. Omega 3&6 OR Omega 3???
People with unstable liver disease or decompensated cirrhosis need to lower the percentage of protein content in their diets so that it falls between approximately 10 to 15 %. And, they need to eat only vegetable sources of protein. A diet high in animal protein ( which typically contains alot of ammonia) may precipitate an episode of encephalopathy among these people.
Hi, You were asking about side effects. I haven't had any negative ones. The diet has been very easy for me. The HCG controls the appetite. I make 64 oz of herbal & green tea mix and drink that daily before 1 pm and then switch to water and drink as much as I can up to another 64 oz averaging between 80-120 oz per day. Buy a postal scale to weigh your food the food scales aren't accurate enough. The food you're allowed is very limited not only in amount but in selection.
is that they make you so thirsty you'll drink anything you can get your hands on! Food intake same as before diet...but healthy...no junk...high protein..low carbs. Never ate much....still heavy. Taking meds for BP but still getting dizzy on the bike and treadmill. Problem may lie with myself...not HCG. Occas. suffer with malabsorbtion (celiac disease) which causes diarrhea. Body cannot absorb nutrients. My old doc up north used to laugh because I look anything but malnurished.
I'm at wits end trying to figure out what's going on because it's starting to really negatively effect my life. I've even had accidents because my stomach just gets so upset with almost everything I eat. And if I don't get bad diarrhea, I always...I mean ALWAYS...have gas. Really bad gas too. I'm ammune to pepto at this point because I used to use it all time (a bottle a week). Can anyone help? I'm tempted to try a gluten free diet just to see if it would help. Thank you very much!
Can anyone tell me about their experience taking Infergen. Are the side effects less intense then the side effects you had when you were on Interferon? My first tx was Interferon and Ribavirin. I cleared in 12 weeks and the virus returned 12 weeks after I finished tx. The side effects were very tough. I am starting Infergen and ribavirin tomorrow. I am hoping for the best.
"PS. Patrick Swayze just but 20 lbs on from a high protein diet along with exercise" Doesn't Patrick Swayze have cancer ??
I have been on the drops for 7 days and 500 calorie diet for 5 days. Only side effect is I'm thirsty!!!!!! I only get hungry 30 mins to and hr b4 meal time. Has anyone else tried adding different veggies to the protocal....broccoli, peppers, greenbeans or friut....watermelon (lower in nutrional value than a med. apple)? Has anyone had a problem with constipation on the protocal?
Just wondering if anyone else doing the diet/pre-probiotic/supps. Was hoping foe some input and or ideas on what you are eating, etc. A little networking might be good.
Anti microsomal antibody is too noramal and that is 19.09 but antithyroglobulin antibody is too higf . it is 959.02. What are the ill effects of this and what should I do to bring it back to normal level.
Vitamin E and Vitamin C may be helpful. As for diets, it is reported that many hypos do better on a higher protein diet and less carbs. That is true in my case. Where I once craved my pasta, now I crave my sirloin. Smaller meals also are good for weight loss. Mary Shoman, national thyroid patient advocate, has a fairly new book out called "The thyroid diet" which I thought was fairly well done.
I took a thyroid test back in September and the results were negative, but I did have a slightly elevated cortisol level, even though I persisted something was VERY wrong I was sent home with antidepressants. I want to make another doctors appointment for a second thyroid test, but my doctors are very unsupportive and by now think I am totally nuts.
direct or indirect toxic effects, immunological effects and oncogenic effects. Smoking yields chemical substances with cytotoxic potential which increase necro-inflammation and fibrosis. In addition, smoking increases the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1, IL-6 and TNF- alpha) that would be involved in liver cell injury.
)) You can Google- anti-inflammatory diet foods, inflammatory foods, etc.
Hi Girls I agree with not eating a lot of white flour carbs and slimfast on this diet. I do use the high protein slimfast drink as a snack in the afternoon. I haven't felt sick, jittery, nervous, ect.. on this pill. I love it. however i do want to make a point that rapid weith loss is not what we should aim for. Our bodies need to adjust to weight loss, both inside and out. Our metabolisms and skin must have time to adjust.
Thanks to this and an improved diet of mainly raw foods and plant proteins (notably hemp milk), I am feeling both mentally and physically better than even when I was eighteen! (Tulsi is also an antidepressant with a neuroprotective effect that helps ease the pain of sore muscles, plus it improves memory and has long been used to help clear the "mental fog" from extensive cannabis use!
I feel so much better except for the fact I am falling asleep left and right! Will this side effect go away? Thats the only negative side effect I am finding... that and the patch peels off especially if I am outside in the sun doing yardwork and sweating. I have had two patches fall off already and I am not sure how to explain this to my doctor. I just brought a waterproof clear patch thing that can go over it. It helps a little bit. But the exhaustion is just insane.
This is my 5th day of Snythroid. I didn't have most of those side effects (adverse reactions) on the Synthroid. HOWEVER, I STILL feel drugged or slightly intoxicated on the Synthroid (25mcg) for about 2 hours after taking it. Also a little nauseous a couple of times. Other posters have told me that the body "needs time to adjust" to the med. I hope that's the case!!!! It's a cruel joke when the med makes you feel worse than the ailment you're taking it for!
Low dairy and only non-fat. Low sugar. High in protein. High in omega 3's. I mean really high. Clean diet. I take supplements as well to offset my deficiencies in Vit D and soon B12. When I am following my diet. I do feel better. I notice my vision is quite a bit better and my twitching is improved. I also follow a lot of Deb's advice with her points. I take Avonex and all of this has reduced my flares quite a bit even in severity it seems. I am only 9 months into taking my DMD.
