High protein diet negative effects

Common Questions and Answers about High protein diet negative effects

protein

Last year, for the first time of my life I went for a diet - it was a high protein, low-carbs diet, and I really got rid of all the extra pounds and even more. For that time I also did fitness and swimming. It took me 6 months to get rid of my extra weight, and bear in mind, that were only 22 lbs, meaning they were not too much. If you want to lose weight being 100% sure no side effects would occur, then you should be prepared for a long weight loss process.
I followed the protocol in KT's book and began my diet on the third day but Dr. Simmeon's protocol says to gorge for 3 days and then begin the diet. I don't know why there is a day difference in the protocols. Also I noticed that DR. Simmeon says to eat white fish but in KT's book he is specific about the white fish being halibut, Chilean sea bass, flounder or sole. Is anyone following just Dr. Simmeon's protocol and if so are you eating other white fish like orange roughy or tilapia?
Any drastic, sudden change in your diet can shock your system and have negative health effects especially if you're cutting out something your body is used to. Simply doing it is not likely to cause any major health issues (although check with your doctor on this), but adjusting to the lifestyle and doing it healthfully is another story. Vegan, as I'm sure you are aware, means absolutely no animal products whatsoever.
Hi, I hope someone can link me to information on the anti fibrotic diet, supplements etc.
Most of them had positive results and only a few reported negative effects. There were a lot of people using it sucessuflly for acid reflux, heartburn, and nausea. Sounds like just the thing to me! There were also several reports that it was treating thyroid disfunction sucessfully. I have had hypothyroidism since my second round of tx for the HCV so again this stuff seems like it might be of benifit.
No fruits, sweets, high sugar vegetables, fruit juices or starches (potatoes, squashes, white rice, grains other than brown rice), Eat a high protein breakfast, such as egg white omelet with spinach, cooked broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, some form of meat - tad of low fat cheese, some fresh veggies. Lunch - cooked vegetables, water, herbal tea, decaf, some form of protein such as egg, broiled chicken turkey, lean beef (stay away from lunchmeats - full of gluten and preservatives).
html --- Aspartame Symptoms Submitted to the FDA I'm not sure now which diet drinks are still using aspartame, but if you drink diet soda... I would seriously start checking.
Just a few weeks ago, living on only egg whites and plant protein I have started to have all symptoms of B12 deficiency and not enough protein intake. I am now waiting for that result and have started on B supplements. I started to increase intake of protein via plant based protein powder. My problem is that now I seem to be having the same reaction to this soy-free plant-based protein. I've seen so many doctors and specialists I can't count.
Has anyone with clinically diagnosed hypothyroidism tried a gluten free or wheat free diet? If so, did you notice a positive difference? Would you recommend giving it a try? Has anyone with clinically diagnosed hypothyroidism tried limiting their consumption of goitrogens? If so, did you notice a positive difference?
"PS. Patrick Swayze just but 20 lbs on from a high protein diet along with exercise" Doesn't Patrick Swayze have cancer ??
Hi, You were asking about side effects. I haven't had any negative ones. The diet has been very easy for me. The HCG controls the appetite. I make 64 oz of herbal & green tea mix and drink that daily before 1 pm and then switch to water and drink as much as I can up to another 64 oz averaging between 80-120 oz per day. Buy a postal scale to weigh your food the food scales aren't accurate enough. The food you're allowed is very limited not only in amount but in selection.
I have been using the advantage protein chocolate drink. On the diet I have been staying away from caffeine completely simply because this product contains caffeine and adding more is not suggested. there are wonderful decaff. teas at local stores like WAlmart and local grocery stores. If you need a slight sugary tasty treat, try the wholewheat cereal with brown sugar baked into it. I believe it's Shredded Wheat sqares.
is that they make you so thirsty you'll drink anything you can get your hands on! Food intake same as before diet...but healthy...no junk...high protein..low carbs. Never ate much....still heavy. Taking meds for BP but still getting dizzy on the bike and treadmill. Problem may lie with myself...not HCG. Occas. suffer with malabsorbtion (celiac disease) which causes diarrhea. Body cannot absorb nutrients. My old doc up north used to laugh because I look anything but malnurished.
It is a very strict diet and you have to be determined to stay away from sugar and white carbs after the diet. I feel I am ready now to make a life change. I had no other side effects, other than sometimes being hungry, which I could have easily managed by eating more vegetables on the list. The diet does get boring, but it is only for 42 days, then you get to start adding other food. I never developed a rash with the drops either. I will post more as I go along.
Can anyone tell me about their experience taking Infergen. Are the side effects less intense then the side effects you had when you were on Interferon? My first tx was Interferon and Ribavirin. I cleared in 12 weeks and the virus returned 12 weeks after I finished tx. The side effects were very tough. I am starting Infergen and ribavirin tomorrow. I am hoping for the best.
As with the hepatitis diet described above, people with cirrhosis need a high-calorie, high-protein diet. In addition, with cirrhosis, foods that are high in sodium and ammonia need to be avoided. Table 2 identifies ammonia- and sodium-containing foods. TABLE 2.
I have decided to change my dogs diet to the Canine Cancer Diet... low carb, high fat, high protein, homecooked. I have already added fish oil supplement (human grade) I squeeze it out of the liquid capsule and the same for Vitamin E. First... I have read conflicting information about the types of Omegas some say you need 3 & 6, while others say not to Omega 6 because it can cause cancer to grow. Omega 3&6 OR Omega 3???
I am currently on the hcg injections from the Native Healing Ways clinic. Does anyone have any recipes for this 500 calorie diet? The information that the clinic has provided does list a few recipes but I would like to expand a bit as I am becoming board with current food choices. Also, I am mostly a vegetarian but eat some fish. Thanks!
I feel so much better except for the fact I am falling asleep left and right! Will this side effect go away? Thats the only negative side effect I am finding... that and the patch peels off especially if I am outside in the sun doing yardwork and sweating. I have had two patches fall off already and I am not sure how to explain this to my doctor. I just brought a waterproof clear patch thing that can go over it. It helps a little bit. But the exhaustion is just insane.
I didn't have most of those side effects (adverse reactions) on the Synthroid. HOWEVER, I STILL feel drugged or slightly intoxicated on the Synthroid (25mcg) for about 2 hours after taking it. Also a little nauseous a couple of times. Other posters have told me that the body "needs time to adjust" to the med. I hope that's the case!!!! It's a cruel joke when the med makes you feel worse than the ailment you're taking it for!
Anti microsomal antibody is too noramal and that is 19.09 but antithyroglobulin antibody is too higf . it is 959.02. What are the ill effects of this and what should I do to bring it back to normal level.
But as a result of this visual similarity, I’ve found that a good number of the posted comments were written in defense of this “miracle” diet, which combines supplementation with a hormone first detected in the urine of pregnant women (yep) and...a daily 500 calorie restriction. So I thought it was a good idea to readdress the issue, with a renewed focus on HCG this time. Drum roll please... I think the HCG Diet is a bad idea for at least three reasons.
high B-12 is good usually, and the older one is, if their level is lower, that can lead to dementia that is often misdiagnosed as other ailments. my B-12 is over 1750, no big deal. as long as you ingest a decent amount of folate in either food or supplements or both. frootbar C.N.

I had a complete l blood work up, and I was told I have a high FSH level. (14) I as told that I would need IVF if I wanted to conceive. I had an ultrasound and it was discovered that I had Fibroids and Polyps. I had a hysterocopy, 2x's, because they didn't get all of the fibroids. I just met with the RE and he said I had a clean bill of health. But now I am being told that I may want to consider using donor eggs. I was appalled and horrified, because I just cannot afford the cost.

You should try to maintain a low glycemic diet, in order to avoid raising blood sugar levels. That would include high protein and lots of veggies; no junk food, such as french fries, chips, candies, pastries, etc and other things made from white sugar and/or flour. Also limit white potatoes. Opt for lower sugar, higher fiber fruits such as apples, pears, berries. Opt for whole fruit vs juices. Low thyroid hormones doesn't cause the blood sugar issues, but they often go hand in hand.
