protein

Avatar f tn I typically run high protein and have perfect uneventful pregnancies otherwise. (Just delivered Thurs). There can be many factors, but for me it was just my diet. In general I am a big meat, bean, all around protein eater and my body stores it longer, or digests it slower. So they will just watch and make sure it isnt something else causing it and if it levels out they'll make sure it isnt causing any other issues.
Avatar f tn m hearing a lot about kidney issues and wonder if my dog is at risk because of his high protein diet.
Avatar m tn For weeks I had really bad chronic abdominal pain on my right side. I couldn't laugh it hurt so bad. Then I had a MRI they said they saw stool. Now I went to the plasma center my protein levels were high so I couldn't give blood. They say my protein was high because fatty foods. Is this reason I feel tired and don't have regular periods, breast milk dried?
Avatar n tn I am thinking about cutting carbohydrates out of my diet and have a high protein diet, eating lots of fruit and vegetables which is what a lot of athletes do. Does it work? I hope it is possable to get rid of fat and build up muscle :( Any advice welcome !!!
Avatar f tn A successful diet plan should contain high protein diet, protein is useful in the matter of weight reduction in light of the fact that it is hard to process. This implies that you will feel full more aside from the way that protein makes you feel full quicker. Make sure, high protein eating plan just conveys extensive weight reduction results when the consumption of carbs is limited.
1415174 tn?1453243103 There is so much literature out there that shows how bad it is to eat a high fat diet and too much meat. Yet a lot of people are on the Paleo diet including some friends. It is very acidic. Well, that is my opinion. Of course genetics plays a role too.
Avatar f tn Try to find some food witout fructose/sucrose. Maybe you can try to start nursing again. Are you taking some medicines?
Avatar f tn s nearly impossible with 2000 mg of sodium limit daily. I hit the protein shake w/ chick pea n hemp protein. The whey protein made me tired. Too much bad protein can bring on HE. You'll find your balance where you can feel good. Lots of protein bars and dry cereals have high protein and I consume a lot of those!

Avatar n tn Here's my take, for what it's worth. Calories aren't a very good guide to weight -- they're a factor but how you metabolize your food is more important. Also realize that most of the people in the world who have been studied for having the healthiest lives eat a lot of carbs -- they aren't on high protein diets. We all know that vegetables are the healthiest foods and should make up the largest portion of our diets, but they are all carbs.
Avatar n tn Hi, I found a link recently which was discussing research on the impact of high protein diets on subjects with and without kidney disease. They concluded that high protein did not cause kidney disease, and neither did it cause most kidney disease to deteriorate.. I will post the link if I can find it again. Controlling BG levels is essential to preventing kidney complications, and has been shown to reverse disease in many cases.
Avatar f tn Just been to see midwife have protein plus in my urine but no high blood pressure anyone else had this thanks
Avatar f tn Do not lower your calories!!! Eat whole, high protein foods. You can worry about losing weight later (chances are you are gradually without trying anyway) working out is always a good idea, but don't push too hard or the stress can effect your milk supply. Remember to drink as much water as possible and eat as much protein as you can, you are building your baby's muscles and baby needs that to grow strong and healthy. Above all, remember supply and demand!
Avatar f tn That's an awful lot of protein... my doctor has me on a high protein diet, 108 grams/day and most days I can't make that, even with a couple of shakes. Are shakes and water all you plan to consume? If so, that's not good or sustainable. In addition, weight lost too and not in a healthy manner will most likely be regained as soon as you start eating normally again, even if maintaining a healthy diet.
Avatar n tn I take thyroid medication daily since i have hypothyroidism and my diet is similar to the popular LCHF diet (high fat, moderate protein, low carbs). My favourite foods are in the top 10 highest in saturated fat and cholesterol. I avoid anything that states low fat. I just cut sugar out of my diet after watching Dr Lustig's youtube video Sugar The Bitter Truth and finally i am starting to lose weight and improve my insulin resistance.
Avatar n tn I'm looking for a weight gain diet that focuses on a active lifestyle since I'm going to be working out a lot.
10389360 tn?1410823968 Protein is tough on the kidneys and a high protein diet can have them working overtime, just not sure if its a good mix since the pregnancy itself also puts extra stress on the kidneys
Avatar n tn I suffer from high "protein in urine" or high creatinine levels, now it's 2.4, but it was higher. I reccommend you read Dr. Walser's book on a low-protein, low-phoshorus diet to avoid dialysis. Your kidney doctor will probably tell you to go on a low-protein diet, but won't give you specifics. Dr. Walser's book explains the diet. It's rather hard diet to stick with, but beats the alternative.
Avatar m tn With regards to Cholesterol, there are divided camps on this. Many people are beginning to question why their disease is still increasing even though they've dramatically lowered their lipid levels. There are certainly a large number of people with national average cholesterol levels, or even lower who have heart disease. There is a lot of research ongoing to try and understand what exactly is going on with lipids and heart disease.
Avatar f tn Eat less carbs and high protein, healthy fat, limit your soda intake and drink plenty of water, green tea is proven to boost your metabolism but does not cause weight loss, drink 2/3 8oz cups a day, do not drink more than 3 cups for daily caffeine intake. Stay away from sugar, if possible use a sugar substitute and eat exact serving sizes, I've been using measureing cups.
500923 tn?1210168927 Low carb diet - no bread - pasta - flour - limit whole grains - no sugar natural or artificial. Brown sugar Ok once in a while. Limit fruits high in sugar! Alcohol is sugar too. Limit milk products Maintain a high green veggie diet with lean "good" protein meats - hormone free! Nuts are good and yogart - I know it has milk - but it has many other supporting factors. It a tough change but you will adjust well and won't crave the other stuff after a while.
Avatar f tn Hi. There are very many causes for high protein levels in a dog's urine, the most common being diet - though other causes can be more serious. I would start writing down everything you are feeding her, including all treats, and then pass this information on to your vet when you next see them.
973741 tn?1342342773 But this is what long-term studies that follow the healthiest people have been saying forever -- the best diet is composed of whole grains, not getting your protein from red meat, not overdosing on sugar and salt, eating your fruits and veggies. Nothing new here. You'll need more calories, though, again, because you exercise a lot.
14652685 tn?1435693430 ve lived with this issue for most of my life however I normally maintained my protein intake via a diet high in bio-available protein sources (Red meat and fish due to their acidic nature along with some plant based sources) however, due to financial hardship I can no longer afford the diet I need to stop my body from eating my own muscle tissue. It's beginning to affect not only my skeletal muscles but also my heart and other internal muscle structures.
1713150 tn?1314467342 the amount of protein in your diet should not effect the protein level in your blood that much, unless you are taking extra protein like Body Builders use protein supplements. I don't have MS, but I don't think this sounds like an MS thing either. Some illness causes the body to make too much of certain proteins that can then show up in the blood.
