Common Questions and Answers about High glucose blood pressure

Avatar m tn Less pressure means less glucose and oxygen to brain so the brain will get your head a ground level so that it can get the needed glucose and oxygen which is why people faint...........High blood pressure will most likely cause a headache, but then again anything is possible. I keep my pressure low with 400 mg magnesium, 5 grams time release vitamin c, cayenne pepper capsules, walking about 30 minutes daily, and 10 mg Lisinopril.
576054 tn?1217783138 My doctor will be doing tests in a few weeks, but I have had some fairly high glucose levels lately. I also have a history of high blood pressure although that has been better most of the time lately. Tonight all of a sudden I started having a terrible headache and nausea. My glucose level was somewhat high. So either this was due to the glucose levels or due to high blood pressure. Whatever it is, I am so tired of being sick and tired all of the time.
Avatar f tn Hypertension (high bp) and being over weight can predispose you to gestational diabetes unfortunately. Its just a precaution.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else had high blood pressure during their pregnancy?? I had my 28 week check-up today and my OB said it was slightly elevated and wants to see me again next week. He also requested extra bloods when I had them taken for my glucose but didnt tell me what he wanted it for. Has anyone else experienced anything like this??
11909894 tn?1424448742 Every other prenatal appointment I have been to, I have had high blood pressure. I dont have a regular doctor but I have midwives. Every appointment I have had a different midwife as to meet all of them before delivery to become familiar. I have been tested twice and had high blood sugar each both time before I was recommended a gestational diabetes test, I then had low blood sugar for the 12 hr fast.
1773108 tn?1314158067 Good Morning, I have a question about high blood sugar levels that don't seem to stabilize. My boyfriend has been struggling for years with high blood sugar. He told me this morning that his level was at 480+!!!! He says he doesn't feel any different whether it's high or low. The lowest it's been (to my knowledge) is still in the high range of 200+.
Avatar f tn I didn't have high blood pressure til closer to the end. I passed my glucose test at 28 weeks and after that it started getting high. I had to pee in a jug for 24 hours so they could test that. Put I passed. Then when I went in labor my bp was crazy! I had a very poor diet though. Lots of sugar... And I mean lots. Do you have a decent diet?
Avatar f tn s then it may be getting low. The 145 is actually high. My husband has high blood pressure, so we all take our blood pressure a lot.
390388 tn?1279636213 Being diabetic and having lots of heart trouble and high blood pressure issues myself, I can tell you that a fasting glucose reading of 200 would get my attention in a New York minute. Your arteries are becoming inflamed at that reading and you will start to experience high blood pressure as well as be at risk for blood clots in your heart arteries.
Avatar n tn There is no definite recommendation at this time regarding medication treatment for these levels of abnormal glucose handling, but in many cases where other issues are present(such as high cholesterol, being overweight, family history of diabetes and high blood pressure) some doctors will start a low dose of Metformin. That is something you may consider discussing with your doctor as well. Take care and keep up the excellent work.
Avatar f tn My mom and both grandmothers have/had diabetes but they also were overweight, had big bellies and ate horribly, smoked and never exercised. I have low blood pressure sometimes too...never had high blood pressure. I would think diabetes would be highly unlikely.....???
Avatar m tn I do think that continued high blood pressure can cause kidney problems. You've had this going on for quite awhile now so it's time to do something about it. Most Drs will do nothing if ***'s below 139/89, because it's pre hypertension and they want you to try and control with it with less stress, diet and exercise. But 160/100 is hypertension. Solace gives you great advice. Get more reading so they can take an average.
Avatar n tn I went to the ER not long ago and I was told I had very high blood sugar, I had not eaten anything for more than 8 hours other than toast.
Avatar f tn Due August 15th with bby #3 and was told i was high risk due to high blood pressure...
Avatar f tn Im 31 weeks and my doctor saw me yesteday and told me i do have low blood pressure. I just dont want to fall like chicken!!!
1088689 tn?1258173691 I have been trying to research and all i can really find is possible high blood pressure... every time i go to the doctor or to labor and delivery for different things, all they really tell me is take tylenol. The last time I went in was for dizziness, and all the doctor said was that he couldnt do anything until there was further insidence of being dizzy...I am in the navy and he said it wasnt fair for the men who have to pick up my slack if he gave me 1/2 days or even bed rest.
Avatar n tn It sounds as if you have a glucometer since you said you have checked his glucose levels. Do you know what is considered "normal" in glucose readings? Glucose levels for non-diabetics and for diabetic people go up and down all day long. Most doctors don't consider glucose levels to be too low unless they drop below 70, but a person can start to feel a little bit bad if in the low 70's, so this might explain why your son didn't feel like eating when his sugar was at 73.
Avatar m tn But yes and blood pressure 140/90 is considered to high and need meds. Normal is 120/80..I had high blood pressure before I ever got Diabetes at age 38. High blood pressure runs in family's or is caused bye a bad diet like one high in salt. It can be controlled with exercise or cutting back on salt and stress. I drink natural organic "Bragg" apple cider vinegar. You can get it at the health store for 5.99$.
Avatar f tn Start with diet and exercise. You don't mention whether you are overweight or a Type II diabetic, but sometimes those things are connected with high cholesterol. You can't control your HDL and LDL, just your consumption of fat from animal products. If you over eat meat or full-fat dairy, you will have problems. Try modifying your diet and exercise to see if you can get your cholesterol to below 200 before you go on statin drugs.
107693 tn?1252864443 My husband last was A1C 6.2 . My question is, why is that his blood glucose is high upon waking up. It is 130 than he has breakfast and works out. So about four hours later the blood glucose level are in the 80's.
Avatar m tn A diagnosis of hypertension is often made by 2 separate blood pressure readings that are high separated in time. A blood pressure of 160/100 falls in the category of Stage 2 hypertension which is often treated with medications in addition to lifestyle modification of diet and cardiovascular exercise. Having high blood pressure puts you at risk for further cardiovascular complications such as coronary disease and renovascular disease.
Avatar n tn is there anything you can do at home when your blood glucose is too high to bring it back down?
Avatar n tn I do not frankly remember whether I ever had this kind of vision episode due to high glucose levels, but if my blood sugar drops extremely low, weird vision things can happen, like the 'yellow' vision -- everything can look like a negative or even colors can look somewhat psychedelic or bright but grayed out (sort of like what she is explaining) when blood sugar levels are too low. There are other symptoms of low glucose, and I experience the same symptoms if glucose levels are too high.
Avatar n tn I bought a blood pressure monitor and sure enought my blood pressure has been spiking. Last night I went to the ER and was all was well until I started dozing off to sleep, blood pressure went up and up. They gave me Adavan and watched me sleep. That did the trick and leveled out my blood pressure. The Dr. said it was not anxiety as I am asleep and it has something to do with my autonomic system and thryoid. Has anyone ever experienced this or high blood pressure with Hypothyroid?
