Avatar m tn This equates a bit to the old cliché about sex drive in men, being crazy in the teens and less so as we get old. Having higher than normal levels of estrogen though are linked to prostate cancer and heart disease. And they are probably going to want to make sure there is nothing like a tumor in your testes. There's also all those other things like enlarged breast tissue, loss of muscle mass and erectile dysfunction that can happen too if estrogen gets too out of control for a dude.
Avatar m tn WeRDead, that's a lot of info, fairly technical, I don't have the Pharmaceutical knowledge offhand to know whether all of this is accurate, but I don't think he'd wanna use Estradiol - that's a female hormone w/ side effects of decreased Testosterone, decreased libido, possible ED, possible breast development in men, and a too-high level of Estradiol can also cause prostate enlargement & other issues, so I'm not sure why you'd be advocating that for ANY man, and e
Avatar f tn Having a hard time finding any information on high estradiol levels. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn Hi! I just received the results of my day 3 blood test and learned that my FSH is 12.1 and my Estradiol is at 20. I'm really nervous about the FSH level and was hoping for some insight regarding our chances of getting pregnant and what type of treatment options we have. Also, is there anything to worry about with the Estradiol number? I know it's low but is there such a thing as too low? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
Avatar f tn Estradiol is a type of estrogen. Follow up with your healthcare provider who did the test. That's what they're there for. They have a bigger picture of your health history and can help you decide if this is the result that requires further investigation.
216278 tn?1308861082 This test is used to evaluate the function of the adrenal glands. DHEA-sulfate is a weak androgen (male hormone) produced by the adrenal cortex in both men and women. The adrenal gland is one of the major sources of androgens in women (the other being the ovaries, which produce testosterone).
Avatar n tn My estrogen level is 1140 which has me very concerned why it is this high. I do take estradiol 2 mg, but from what i have researched with HRT it should not be higher than 340. Does this mean it could be caused from ovarian cancer or are my labs just out of whack because of estradiol dose being too high??
216278 tn?1308861082 5 Do you think that there is a chance that I could be pregnant since my Estradiol jumped so high?? Any speculation, advice, comments or anything will be appreciated!! I'm going crazy over here!!
1493378 tn?1288707991 so, there's a tendency that my doctor will cancel this cycle? i'm so worried...tomorrow will be my follow-up check-up with my doctor, but i'm really so confused w/ this result. On my previous ivf treatment, ,my estradiol level was 21 pg/ml, and this cycle it's >20 pg/ml...what was your estradiol level when they cancelled your cycle?
Avatar f tn Last month no surge on opk but on ultrasound she had a good follicle so we did the IUI. Has anyone had success with preg when estradiol is high? If so we would love some advice.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your reply. I have listed 3 questions I was hoping you could answer for me and my other test results. Can you have any type of anemia with high iron levels? Can you please tell me a comprehensive list of symptoms come from iron overload? Could a pituitary problem lead to or cause these types of levels? The doctor thought it could be pituitary related or hormone related. I have searched the internet and can only find a few sources, but they list different symptoms.
Avatar f tn s ranges show a max non-pregnancy and non-menopausal value of estradiol to be 498 pg/mL and estrone 268 pg/mL. Estradiol can exceed 4300 in the first trimester of pregnancy. And post-menopausal levels are less than 54 and less than 65, respectively.
374593 tn?1257879950 I always thought that the estradiol was to make sure your lining was thick enough for implantation. Because I now the drugs like clomid can thin your lining making it impossible for the egg to implant. I could be wrong though.
Avatar n tn I am a 25 year old female, I had a saliva hormone kit evaluated with testosterone, DHEA, estradiol, and progesterone, also progesterone/estradiol ratio done. The results came back as this, Estradiol- normal Progesterone- Low; 47.2 (range of 127-446) Ratio of Progesterone to estradiol - 33.0 Low; (range of 200-600) Testosterone- 83.5 High; (range of 6.0-49) DHEA- 366.7 High- (range of 106-300) I can tell that i have way higher 'male hormones' than the women's hormones but, why?
Avatar n tn I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
Avatar n tn I switched doctors. All I use now are estradiol (in a patch form) and a small amount of testosterone. I used to be the first to say we all need progesterone, but there is newer research on this, and again, the website I mentioned goes into a nice explanation. The protocol I use now is based on the work by Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet and it was her book, "Screaming to be Heard" that I found about three years ago that proved to be most helpful to me.
Avatar f tn My side effects are as follows severe tinnitus, phelgm in my lungs and coughing, high blood pressure, weight gain, high cholesterol, positive ANA test boderline lupus numbers, high hscrp test, pains behind my eyes, breathing pain issues, low grade fever, forehead pain, stuffy nose like allergies...all of this has been since I started hrt which was right after my surgery. Before my blood pressure was 110/70 now runs high 155/95 at times. Blood pressure spikes all the time.
Avatar f tn s a fairly normal level of estradiol pre-menopause. the FSH is elevated but not nearly as high as it might be in menopause. I'm still not yet through to the other side of menopause with estradiol at <10 and my FSH around 90. You are in the age range to have perimeno symptoms. These can fluctuate a LOT. You could all of a sudden begin getting regular periods again, keep having them be spaced out or anything inbetween.
Avatar n tn s happening in my hormone level? Why is is so volutile? Am I in the premenapousal stage? But in my outlook there's no change. Please advice me my GYN is not very concerned. He says there's nothing to worry. But Im really worried.
