high estradiol and ivf

Hi! I just received the results of my day 3 blood test and learned that my FSH is 12.1 and my Estradiol is at 20. I'm really nervous about the FSH level and was hoping for some insight regarding our chances of getting pregnant and what type of treatment options we have. Also, is there anything to worry about with the Estradiol number? I know it's low but is there such a thing as too low? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

so, there's a tendency that my doctor will cancel this cycle? i'm so worried...tomorrow will be my follow-up check-up with my doctor, but i'm really so confused w/ this result. On my previous ivf treatment, ,my estradiol level was 21 pg/ml, and this cycle it's >20 pg/ml...what was your estradiol level when they cancelled your cycle?

I had moderate endometriosis (caused heavy painful periods)so I had a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, d and c, and another HSG and the following month and any other time it has been tested, it has been in the 5 to 6 range. So even though the drs wont say one way or the other in my situation I think my endo. was making mine high. I havent researched it or anything but I have no other explaination except that. Maybe something to look into.

The latest Day3 blood test shows an elevated Estradiol above 70 and lowered FSH around 6, compared to my test last year's level of FSH around 8 and Estradiol in mid 40's. I am 39 years old.

Hi, my numbers were FSH 7.84 and Estradiol 53.9 in Aug 2009 when first tested. They were FSH 9.7, Estradiol 33, and LH 6.4 when I got tested in Jan of this year. Got pregnant on 2nd month of trying. Found some other results: TSH 1.09, FT4 1.26, and Prolactin 5.63. I'm 42 1/2 now. Good luck to everyone! SSBD!

Haven't experinced this situation but I'm hoping someone does answer your question because I'm in the same predicament but for different reasons. Just had a failed 1st IVF and due to the high costs we can't do a 2nd and are thinking of doing IUI's. I know the probablity of preg on IUI's is slimmer than IVF but don't have an alernative. Hi all, quick question. i am currently taking 125 units of follistim and on cycle day 13 today. yesterday went for us and labs, saw 3 follicles, largest 17, smallest 15. estradiol level was 1146. they want me to come back again monday for another us and labs. with estradiol level that high, doesnt that mean something is mature and i should trigger. i do have pcos, and don't want all 4 to release. any thoughts or ideas?

been trying to have a second baby the past 3years on off cycles of clomid, IUI among others then 4months ago discovered low amh which means low ovarian reserve and my RE didnt recommend IVF but i wanted to try so he gave me a short intensive course of merional and only 1 follicle appeared with low Estradiol level so he cancelled IVF and did IUI 2weeks ago and just got my period so it failed.....i have read about DHEA and bought it...

3) fsh, I will be responsive to clomid alone or whether IVF is the only option for someone in our boat? I am 31 and my other day 3 levels are: DHEAS: 73; Estradiol: 37. Still waiting on testosterone results... My husband and I have an appointment with the OB-GYN on August 3rd, but I (maybe foolishly?) asked that I get a copy of the blood test results directly from the diagnostic lab.

I am currently taking Lupron and Estradiol leading up to my IVF. I am having awful headaches and some nausea with the estradiol. Did anyone else experience this and does it go away? Thanks!

Day 6 of STIMS, estradiol levels 41 and only 3 follicles. Doctor increased my Gonal F from 225 to 300 IU and continued with Merional 150 IU and Decapeptyl 0.1mg. Has anyone else had these kind of results? This is my first round of IVF and I am so disappointed. The doctor had expected more follicles. My question is, by increasing the dose could more follicles produce at this stage since I'm already on Day 6?

m on clomid and my estrogen levels can be as low as 1500 at ovulation and this cycle as high as 3500 at ovulation. I was just told it's indicative of the amount of eggs / follicles sorry don't know where did you hear this? from your RE?

Apparently bad news is if you have high estrogen on day 2. I am in natural cycle IVF and my follicle has developed well and my uterus lining is good. I am having aspiration tomorrow - so it did not look like there was a problem even though estrogen was low on 2nd day. I hope all works well for you. Good luck.

Last month no surge on opk but on ultrasound she had a good follicle so we did the IUI. Has anyone had success with preg when estradiol is high? If so we would love some advice.

I had a CCT and had slightly unfavorable results (Day 3 FSH 9.6, Estradiol 72, Day 10 FSH 16.1, Estradiol 482). We are planning to start IVF this cycle. During my baseline today, I had only 5 total antral follicles, and my ovary size was smallish. I am extremely discouraged. I started Acupuncture 3 weeks ago, and wish I had started sooner. Is it normal to continue to take Estradiol after finding you are pregnant after doing IVF? I had to get a refill on the estradiol requested by my doctor but I noticed on the cautions label it said "Do Not Take This Med If Pregnant"? Is this normal?

Well, the doctor who did my transfer told me to take 2 estrodial per day and 3 prometrium per day and shot of progesterone every other day and I wasn't due to go back until my pregnancy test 10/7. However, I was unhappy with several lapses in care that I received along the process so I switched and they immediately started doing my blood levels every 3-4 days. I guess it helps them to keep your hormones where they need to be to support pregnancy.

, it has been determined that I have sub-clinical hypothyroidism and my estrogen levels are low. This is the first month that I have worn an Estradiol patch and am just getting concerned! I know that the best advice and words of wisdom come from those who have experienced it, so I thought that I would start here... so i just now at 50 got put on the low dose patch estradiol...i have been on anxiwty drugs for twenty years and was doing aoaky till a few years back so i wanted to see if the estrogen would help me...i need my sex drive back will it help with that and my mood and vagianl dryness...

FSH: 4.5 and Estradiol 59. The levels yesterday 3/29/10 (day 10) were: FSH: 9.7 and Estradiol 163. I am using OPK's per the direction of my fertility doctor on cycle days 12-21 (I started early and have been getting negative results - not surprising since I know that it might be too soon to ovulate). Does anyone know how to interpret these day 10 results? Thank you!

I plan to cut back to 25mg just once a day which should hopefully raise fsh a little bit and lower estradiol. We are hoping to start our very first Ivf in the next two months, depending on how my uterus looks in an upcoming hycosy (I have a history of sub mucosal fibroids). But dhea definitely lowered my fsh significantly in a short period of time. I also have one ovary and hypothyroidism controlled with meds. My ivf doctor didn't prescribe dhea but told me it couldn't hurt to take it.
