4706518 tn?1358198536 I also have had mesh surgery as of February this year. Since surgery I have had pain in my stomach everyday and cant work in my job. In hide site I have found a Dr. that will remove the mesh as he is specialized in this field. The downfall is he is in Las Vegas and he doesn't except insurance. He has financing. Its Dr. Kevin Peterson. He has NIS group. NO INSURANCE SURGERY GROUP. Good luck I'll be interested if anyone has this removal. I would like to know the out come.
Avatar m tn I can not get travel insurance in relation to hernia surgery. Wondering what the risk is of complications post surgery? Do I go or not go?
Avatar f tn I suggest seeing your doctor! Do you know what procedure was performed for your previous surgery? I personally don't like the mesh type of surgery.
1169557 tn?1263270893 As far as cost, it is my understanding that it costs around $25,000 (in Houston) without insurance coverage. There are a few insurance carriers that still cover it, but many have dropped it from their policy or offer it only as an optional coverage to businesses, many of whom do not accept it. http://www.articlesbase.com/health-articles/proactol-review-does-proactol-diet-pills-work-for-weight-loss-1707237.
Avatar f tn I am a 21yo female, 5'4", 118 pounds. I'm gluten sensitive and lactose intolerant but other than some hay fever and asthma I'm a decently healthy person. I was diagnosed with a femoral hernia in October at the ER and was told that no surgeons would see me without insurance so I've just been trying my best to live with it. They told me it wasn't a very bad one though, so I should be fine so long as I didn't lift anything.
Avatar f tn from April to August 2010, and left it open wound for a space of three weeks.. They closed the incision again, and after that I had my first hernia surgery on September 2010. After that one, I had every year after, a hernia repair surgery and waiting at this moment for the decision of a new one. I'm really disappointed that I wasn't told about all the complications that this surgery can or might have.
1118349 tn?1325499936 ll have to find out what your insurance requires before they approve of the surgery. Remember, though, that this is MAJOR surgery, and the recovery process takes a really long time. My aquaintence expects to need help around the house for at least a year. She has other health issues, too, but the point is that this is a very big deal. The longer you can put off this surgery, the better off you'll be.
Avatar n tn I had a few umbilicar hernia operations, the last surgery a mesh was placed in my stomic. Years later I noticed my stomic is geting larger and larger and it is very hard, I was told i need two doctors one for the hernia and the other for the diastasis abd wall. My questions are - 1 would my insurance pay? 2- Do you know of a good Doctor. - Is it a diffacult operation?
18663 tn?1198171815 They will have to take the baby from my side and there are many risks because of that. My insurance will NOT approve the hernia surgery because it is in Portland which is 4 hours away from me. I get approx. 70 bubbles a day (where I have to push them back in). They are getting harder to push back in.
Avatar m tn The aim of the surgery is wound strengthening, so that hernia does not occur again. If the gap is large, then a mesh may be used. Regards.
1222635 tn?1366396286 i need surgery for my hernia and i need surgery for my back (since i have been put in a back brace once before and it didn't heal properly and is now fractured again, surgery seems the only option)... after the discovery of my hernia i placed a call to a medicaid worker to find out if a visit to a surgeon to look at my hernia and surgery to repair it would be covered and you know what she told me?
Avatar f tn I need gallbladder surgery in the near future. I have abdominal meshing and want to know if they can do laproscopic surgery on me or not. ANYONE have my issue?
Avatar f tn I have been trying to find out more information on this rare type of hernia without much success. I have been suffering for over 3 years with constant abdominal pain (only goes away when sleeping) that is worse with sitting long periods or with cardio exercise. There is no relationship to food and it seems "better" with continual, easy movement. Generally, it feels like a deep ache in my abdomen, a couple inches above my navel and a couple of inches to the right.
Avatar f tn I have had gallbladder surgery and your symptoms sound familiar yet you probably know that you need to get it checked out by your primary doctor, general practicioner or gastroenterologist and be sure the receptionist knows how bad your pain is so you can get in asap. If the pain is really bad you need to go to the ER, or something like Urgent Care. If money or just no insurance is a problem go to your state hospital ER.
Avatar f tn I have sharp abdominal pain to the right of my abdomen about 3 fingers width. It has been there for months and I mainly feel it upon touch. Lately I've felt bloated. I saw an obgyn and ovaries and uterus have been ruled out. My pcp wants to send me for a CT scan of the abdomen. Is she thinkining hiatal hernia possibly caught early?? I am thin, don't always eat the best, not pregnant (my son is 8) . She says its in the area of the ileocecal valve.
Avatar n tn I have this problem of recent, i had inguinal hernia surgery a year ago. does this mean my body is rejecting the hernia mesh now? What can i do, besides the hospital, i have no insurance.
Avatar n tn Hi Jenny, I have a hiatal hernia, but do not require surgery...I have known about my hernia since I was in my teens. I had a few flares that required meds...but, with proper diet and lifestyle I am able to keep it under control without meds. I just got my self off meds after being on them 2 yrs....I had flares from 3 diff surgeries....the meds they use to put u under alone can upset a balanced system.
Avatar f tn My question is... with a hiatal hernia this large, are they going to end up doing surgery??? I am a 48 year old female, 168 pounds and 5'3"....
Avatar f tn The upper endoscopy (EGD) is also required, as was mentioned, but the pH and manommetry tests are usually required by your insurance carrier just to be able to get the prescriptions that are still covered by insurance for GERD. Don't let them talk you into doing this surgery as a first step to resolve the issues, though. See if you can resolve some of these issues yourself first by following some diet modifications and losing any extra weight if you can.
Avatar n tn Does this mean surgery failed? is hernia back (now they are referring to this as a paraesophageal hernia) The doctors never told us herina might be back so I am wondering when I see x-ray report and it shos Pre-demonstartion of hernia, does that mean there is a new issue or they are seeing repaired hernia? is it typical that Nissen wrap would slip so soon after surgery?
Avatar f tn I shall try to get more information about hernia if it is umbilical or something else. He lives in Pakistan where there is no health care insurance. Finding a donor of liver and then the cost of transplant is out of reach of a person. It could be in millions of Rupees and impossible for an ordinary family. Some people say that if hernia explodes inside the body, it will kill the person. Is there any way to contain the Hepatitis C and reduce the bulge of swollen hernia?
625302 tn?1255485995 It took everything I had in order to afford the tummy tuck in the first place, and it looks worse week by week. I am told that surgery to correct cosmetic surgery mishaps is not covered by insurance. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn If your insurance allows, go directly to a gastroenterologist, who can diagnose a hernia and refer to a surgeon if necessary. Two different PCPs treated me for GERD symptoms for more than 10 years and never found my hernia. When I relocated cities and went directly to a gastroenterologist, she found the hernia right away. She foundation a paraesophogeal hernia the size of a baseball wrapped around my esophogeus.
Avatar f tn I had hernia surgery a year ago, not too long after the surgery i realized that it was back. I didn't think anything about it, but the past month I have had really bad pain, worse pain than when I got it fixed the first time. The doctor just used permanent sutures the first time, is there any way that I could have this surgery without having to have the mesh screen put in this time? Also, my abdominal muscles are separated pretty bad, could I ask the general surgeon about diastasis repair?
