564740 tn?1306191992 The waiting and the pain can be awful. Do remember that over 95% of cysts are benign. I had surgery to remove a grapefruit sized cluster of cysts from my right ovary plus my right ovary and tube just over 2 months ago. Mine were benign and I am now blissfully pain free and feeling better than I have in quite a long time. Has your doctor given you anything to help with the pain and anxiety?
Avatar f tn Can anyone tell me what to expect after surgery? How I will feel, how long it takes to recover, when you start to feel better, etc. I have read about this and talked to the doctor, but I wanted to hear first hand from those who have had the surgery already and actually experienced it what it was like. I would really appreciate it. I am having surgery on May 21st with Dr. Oro in Colorado.
Avatar f tn Thank you both so much for the responses. It is nice to know to what to kind of expect.
Avatar f tn I had both ovaries and tubes removed at age 48 in January. It will give you the whole lowdown on what to expect regarding the surgery, but I have no idea what surgical menopause is like. If you were in your 20s or 30s I'd say try to save an ovary. At 45, no way. From what you described, they need to go.
Avatar f tn m scheduled with a great neurosurgeon, who is supposed to help interpret for me and tell me what needs to be done. However, that appointment is like 3 weeks away and the suspense is driving me insane. Can someone please tell me what they know about what constitutes surgery for this condition? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Reacently my ma has agreed of me gettin surgery and planning to have it on spring break of april. I have to deal with the waiting for now but i was wondering what to expect after the surgery.
Avatar n tn She said I did not need the sugery, this is within one week of the surgery she had set up for me to have at the hospital. Due to the first time i had the guided biopsy, she said the cells were abnormal and she thought it to be cancer, my mind stopped when I heard the word cancer, I had taken a family member to listen and ask questions the next time I went in after the second guided biopsy. My family member had medical knowledge and asked questions I would not have thought to ask.

Avatar n tn e Diet, what she should be eating after however many days and what to expect etc. When will she be able to do normal things etc.. Can anyone help please,.....
Avatar f tn Is there anything that I need to be doing to get ready for her to come home, and what do I expect once she gets here?
Avatar m tn I have recently been diagnosed with FAP (Familial adenomatous polyposis) and I am soon to have my colon/large intestine out, I am 16 and will have the surgery done in march. It will be done via "keyhole" surgery. If anyone has had this done could you give me some info on what to expect based on your experences. For example: how long did it take you to be able to attend work or school? how long before you were on your regular diet, and finally what risks did you run across?
Avatar m tn And if surgery was the only option, what is a general price range to expect? I would need to know a general figure before going any further.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed was several nodules on the left side, one as large as 3 cms. and a small cyst on the right. I have been having trouble for almost a year now with breathing problems and hoarseness and just general fatigue. I am a very active person and this has really started to take a toll on me. All of my blood work came back fine, so I am being sent to an ENT.
Avatar n tn m not sure what to do as I read that in case this is an injury bcoz of the exercises I used to do then I should rest for few weeks first, or do they mean to take rest of my heavy abs exercises only ? but I'm not sure if it's an injury or not. also should I pull abdomen to spine as they advise normally ? I feel better when I do this for the low abdomen muscles, I usually feel a mild pain if I left my abdomen pushing the muscles specifically after eating. Which doctor(s) I should visit ?
Avatar f tn Don't focus on what your CA125 numbers were before surgery. The important numbers come after surgery and after chemo because as they fall, it shows that you're getting better! I read somewhere that because of the internet we have become a nation of "cyberchondriacs" (I LOVE that word -- it's me!). As Fran Drescher would say, "Statistics, Schmatistics." You're not a statistic. There are plenty of women out there who are long-term survivors.
Avatar m tn im schedualed to have a disc tranfusion next month and im really nervous on what to expect. ive been told im too young to be having this and usually poeple in their 40's have what i have. my question is what is it going to be like after the surgery? how long am i going to be on bed rest and what is the recovery like? ive spent about 10 years in the army and worried that ill get kicked out after my operation since it takes a while to heal from it.
Avatar n tn U r welcome. I am not really well informed on this proceedure....I was dx with my hiatal hernia while still in high school, and I have not had a surgery.I also was able to go yrs with out meds....
Avatar f tn I have an appointment with the OBGYN on 3/3 and from what I am reading online I am thinking she is going to say surgery is needed, but I was hoping some of you who have already been through this can tell me what to really expect. Is this cyst small enough for laproscopic surgery? Will I most likely be able to keep the ovary? I understand noone can tell me for sure what will happen in my case, but if you can share your own experiences I would appreciate it. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I had the surgery done a year ago. The first few days is terrible but recovery for me was easy.
Avatar f tn Hope not but if you do get pain just lay down and let the pain go. Away if you start to feel intense pain like burning or tare and its in a bigger area and nauseous than go to the er. Thats the difference in the bad pain and normal pain.I dont think u will but if I tell u you'll know what to expect.
Avatar m tn So now that we are going to be sitting and waiting for a month to hear what he has to say I am trying to collect as much info as possible because at this point my mind is running wild on how this disease works. What can our child expect to endure throughout life with this disease, as if CP isn't going to be hard enough on him now something else for him to deal with. Thanks in advance for your information.
973882 tn?1258681304 I was just diagnosis with Chiari Type 1 and I am wondering what to expect.
