It was painful yes, but I remembered how painful the detox was years ago and decided the pain from the surgery wasnt as bad as pain accompanied with all the other stuff that comes with detox. (Sleepless night, bathroom issues, depression, anxiety, restless leg, nausea, etc...etc)
Good luck with the surgery...remember, just cus the doc prescribes it doesn't mean you have to take it for that duration.

If she has undergone a laparoscopic surgery, the recovery time is faster.She can go home in 2-3 days.She might have pain at the surgery site for which pain killers can be taken.Generally a semi-solid diet is presribed from the 2nd or 3rd day during the first week. If the semi-solid diet is tolerated well, then other foods can be slowly introduced. This usually takes 2-3 weeks.Complete recovery takes 2-3 weeks.
i have had chronic pain in my lower right abdomen for almost 8 years. what started out as a simple inguinal hernia repair has been a nightmare. the doc put the mesh patch in for "good measure". the adhesions are massive.
from many doctors i have been diagnosed as having probably 3 nerve paths trapped in the adhesions. The inguinal, hypogastric and genital femerol nerves are all involved. After years and years of procedures I have not had any pain relief that lasted more than a day.
This was my second surgery (first... removal of ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids). My recent surgery was also to repair a small hernia and removing bowel adheshions (scar tissue). Both are believed to be a result of my first surgery - possibly returning to work and daily activity too soon.
I have 2 questions?
First, what is a recommend timeframe to resume daily activities (I.e.driving,etc.). My tentative return tobwork dare isn't until July.

I had a pain since 6 months in my right testicle. i have been on cipro for a 28 days and then 10 day doxycycline. all the test were negative,, sperm , urine , blood .. no infection have been found.. then a Cat scan showed i have an inguinal hernia.. i did the surgery and fix it,
pain didn't go away even after the surgery..
I am sorry to hear you have a hernia but at least you finally have answers to the pain you've been experiencing. I have not had a hernia (or don't think that is the cause of my occasional twinges of pain/discomfort) so cannot answer any questions about surgery. Hope all goes well!
My question is what will the recovery be like. I looked up the recovery for a gallbladder surgery and recovery for hiatal hernia repair and I think I am in for a lot of pain and weight loss. the weight loss I can take. But the pain I am not looking forward to. I will be home during the day by myself. Would I be able to take care of myself and what will the recovery be like. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Sorry - it's actually chronic abdominal pain, which he describes as excruciating hunger pain that is either slightly relieved by - or exacerbated by - eating. The pain is all day, every day. Surgery was 10 days ago.
I had surgery recently where I had a cyst removed through laboscrophy of my ovary on the left side. but recently I've been having sharp pains in my belly button usually when i'm hungary but sometimes when I'm not sometimes it gets sooooo bad I have to take pain killers cause i can barely move.
I will go see the general surgeon to see what my options are, but I am very reluctant to have this hernia repaired as I have read a lot of stories that indicate the hernia/bulge can return, or worse complications, mostly rigidness and chronic pain. Right now, aside from the very unsightly bulge (big as a grapefruit), I don't have much pain from in. I wear abdominal binders for support. I wear those 24/7 and it helps, and I hope it will prevent the bulge from getting bigger.
ve had a hydrocele surgery at the age of six, left side inguinal hernia surgery at the age of 10, and a right side inguinal hernia surgery at the age of 24. My right testicle have been attached closer to my body since my hydrocele surgery and I can clearly remember how uncomfortable it felt to have such an abnormal position of your testicle. After 20 years, I still feel some discomforting pains (on my right testicle) when exercising.
(back pain, testicle pain, groin pain, what seems like butt muscle pain especially when you sit for a while, bend over, or warm up before the game, all associated with the same side of the body usually), let me guess, when you play soccer/football you are right footed : ) ? my advise see a hernia specialist as soon as possible because it could get serious....
This can be repaired through surgery. Recovery time varies depending on the size of the hernia, the technique used, age and presence of underlying medical condition.
