Avatar n tn Hi aliparkone, If she has undergone a laparoscopic surgery, the recovery time is faster. She can go home in 2-3 days. She might have pain at the surgery site for which pain killers can be taken.Generally a semi-solid diet is presribed from the 2nd or 3rd day during the first week. If the semi-solid diet is tolerated well, then other foods can be slowly introduced. This usually takes 2-3 weeks.Complete recovery takes 2-3 weeks.
Avatar f tn The last surgery was laprascopic. The surgery I had back in Sept was a horizonal laparotomy. I read that with the laprascopic the return to work and normal activity is 4-6 weeks. I think my doctor is taking extra precautions because of the hernia and the scar tissue. I am still really sore from the last surgery and very blotted. I just don't want to over do it, but Im already having some cabin fever and it's only been a few days. If your doctor hadn't already mentioned...
Avatar f tn I am sorry to hear you have a hernia but at least you finally have answers to the pain you've been experiencing. I have not had a hernia (or don't think that is the cause of my occasional twinges of pain/discomfort) so cannot answer any questions about surgery. Hope all goes well!
Avatar m tn (back pain, testicle pain, groin pain, what seems like butt muscle pain especially when you sit for a while, bend over, or warm up before the game, all associated with the same side of the body usually), let me guess, when you play soccer/football you are right footed : ) ? my advise see a hernia specialist as soon as possible because it could get serious....
478868 tn?1209031705 I thought it was all due to the surgery. Guess not, she thinks I have an incisional hernia. I see my surgeon Thursday for further evaluation. Has anyone ever had this? I thought after the hysterectomy, removal of the malignant tumor, I was well on the road to recovery. What am I in for now?
Avatar m tn My question is what will the recovery be like. I looked up the recovery for a gallbladder surgery and recovery for hiatal hernia repair and I think I am in for a lot of pain and weight loss. the weight loss I can take. But the pain I am not looking forward to. I will be home during the day by myself. Would I be able to take care of myself and what will the recovery be like. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Avatar f tn I had surgery recently where I had a cyst removed through laboscrophy of my ovary on the left side. but recently I've been having sharp pains in my belly button usually when i'm hungary but sometimes when I'm not sometimes it gets sooooo bad I have to take pain killers cause i can barely move.
2042217 tn?1336527852 The recovery time varies person to person and depends on your general health condition and extent of hernia. Usually one can be back to the normal routine after 2 weeks of surgery. But it is better to avoid strenuous jobs for at least 4-6 weeks after surgery as it can lead to tearing of the incision. Hope it helps. Good luck for your surgery!
Avatar f tn Hi, 6 years ago i had my 2nd child and developed an umbilical hernia, which i had surgery for the repair. I now have had a 3rd baby - 5 months now- and have the umbilical hernia has returned.
Avatar n tn I am a 62 year old nurse who graduated Nursing School in1969. In September of 2010 I had laproscopic surgery to remove my gallbladder. I had severe Right upper quadrant pain which radiated to my side and back. My recovery period of 6 weeks wasn't bad, I still had pain but thought it was from surgery as the doc said I had a lot of adhesions. At the end of two hours in surgery the doc had to call in a second surgeon, it took them four and 1/2 hours to complete the surgery.
Avatar m tn what type of hernia exercise (if you have) can i do that can help me developed back the muscles that causes my abdominal hernia? Can it help me avoid surgery? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Hi I have a 4 month old shih tzu puppy, I love him dearly. He got nuetered as well as a hernia repair , his hernia ended up coming back out that day. I'm a little concerned about him. He seems very uncomfortable, skiddish, scared, that's not like my pup :( advice please!

Avatar f tn I'm still recovering from emergency abdominal surgery. I'm so thankful I don't feel any of the pain I felt previously. What I do feel is my little peanut. He is so active. I really believe that hernia surgery helped him to have more room. I'm so thankful for every little kick even if it is at 5 am. Well I'm off work for two weeks so he can kick all he wants. I love him so much.
Avatar f tn Hi , I had a hiatus hernia ( sliding) and am in recovery (4th month) after key hole surgery for repair to the hernia. I had the hiatus hernia for the 10 years and suffered all of your mentioned symptoms. It got to the point where I was getting hard stomach pains ( felt like I was punched in the stomach) and felt like I wanted to vomit. I took over my life and I was afraid of eating so many foods.
433485 tn?1321813390 I have not had the operation, and I looked to see if we had a forum for folks with hernias, but, it looks like we don't. I would do a google search on umbilical hernias and surgery, you should hopefully be able to find something that will be helpful. Sorry that I can not help you more.
Avatar f tn A friend with a similar experience wondered about a hernia as she had one after her surgery. Any thoughts? anyone else experience pain months after the surgery? And What caused it?
Avatar m tn Come to find out, I did have a ingual (SP?) hernia. Surgery/recovery was a breeze. It definately helped get rid of that pain. Now if I could only get rid of the adbominal pain.

454221 tn?1259445739 Has anyone had an abdominoplasty/tummy tuck? Would like to know how the recovery part of it was afterwards. How much pain? Very nervous to do this. I'm not a fan of going under the knife. Want to know the risk involved? I've been told that abdominoplasty is one of the high risk surgeries for blood clots.
Avatar n tn Possibly not. But soft tissue injuies in back region can lead to groin pain, which means they are related.
Avatar f tn I would have to agree with woodsprincess, dont do surgery unless you have to. I had surgery and it came back in more places. Its a hard decision but just know that the Crohn's can come back again and can return in more places as well. All the best with making a decision!
Avatar m tn ve had a hydrocele surgery at the age of six, left side inguinal hernia surgery at the age of 10, and a right side inguinal hernia surgery at the age of 24. My right testicle have been attached closer to my body since my hydrocele surgery and I can clearly remember how uncomfortable it felt to have such an abnormal position of your testicle. After 20 years, I still feel some discomforting pains (on my right testicle) when exercising.
Avatar f tn I had hernia surgery 7 1/2 wks ago cannot believe the pain i have had. It was a spagelian hernia and I am a female. After surgery my incision & other private parts swelled up the size of a cantelope and turned black & blue , so pain full couldn't walk. bruising and swollen from upper thighs to belly button and around both sides. Said it's a hematoma. Used mesh but that's all I really know.
