hernia-surgery

Avatar n tn Possibly not. But soft tissue injuies in back region can lead to groin pain, which means they are related.
Avatar m tn The 2nd Neuro made a reference from the drop of the hernia to the level of the mouth. We are more inclined to perform the decompression surgery as there's a chance of brain haeomorrage from drilling the skull. If it is hydrocephalus that required a shunt, we'll get it done later as seems shunt has a lot of complication. BTW, we're seeking a 3rd opinion on Tuesday before confirming the posterior fossa decompression operation scheduled for 17/09/12.
1216794 tn?1266506453 My husband is 26. He has had 2 hernia surguries and now we think that his hernia is back. Two surgeons have told us that his pain is caused from a nerve being stuck in the scar tissue. They want him to have a shot that will deaden the nerves in that area. Is it even safe to do that???? It is an inguinial hernia. We are afraid it will cause him to go numb in places he dont want to be. Is there any other way to deal with this pain????
Avatar n tn I had a hernia operation years back it's not bad. The hernia was painful not the surgery.
Avatar n tn Anyway my question is has anyone had a surgery other than the nissen fundo to repair the hernia. I am interested in having mine fixed but do NOT want my stomach wrapped around my esophagus. I'd like for a surgeon to just go in and pull the stomach to its proper position and sew up the hole in the diaphram essentially returning everything to its natural order.
Avatar f tn Hello, I used to have extreme pain in the left lower abdomen area (groin area), which was the result of a hernia. I had surgery in July and that took all the pain away. Unfortunately, about two weeks ago, the same exact pain came back. For the past few days, Ive had extreme sharp pain in the same area. I went to the surgeon who fixed my hernia, and she proclaimed that "there is no way the pain is from the hernia".
Avatar f tn I am sorry to hear you have a hernia but at least you finally have answers to the pain you've been experiencing. I have not had a hernia (or don't think that is the cause of my occasional twinges of pain/discomfort) so cannot answer any questions about surgery. Hope all goes well!
Avatar m tn My boyfriend had hernia surgery over 2 years ago, since the surgery he has a lot of pain during and after sex. It is to the point he doesn't want to get off, because that is when it hurts the worst. Is there something he can do to correct this problem.
Avatar m tn t know if the testicular pain is coming from my back herniated disc or from the hernia. My nerologist thinks it is the hernia, although my GP thinks it os the back injury.I am scheduled to have the hernia repaired, hopin it might cure the testicular pain.Any thoughts?I am also constipated these days although do't know if there is any connection.

Avatar m tn (back pain, testicle pain, groin pain, what seems like butt muscle pain especially when you sit for a while, bend over, or warm up before the game, all associated with the same side of the body usually), let me guess, when you play soccer/football you are right footed : ) ? my advise see a hernia specialist as soon as possible because it could get serious....
Avatar m tn hi i have been checked by a surgeon who has diagonised it as para umbilical hernia , however when it was checked by the ultra sound of the abdomen the radologist was of the opinion every thing is okay. this surgeon has now told me to get it checked by some other surgeon to confirm his diagonisis.
Avatar m tn what type of hernia exercise (if you have) can i do that can help me developed back the muscles that causes my abdominal hernia? Can it help me avoid surgery? Thank you.
Avatar f tn for sure its not hernia...hiatal hernia produce heart burn and pain in stomache not right lower abdomen....other types of hernia are visible at examination..they dont need ct scan for diagnosis. in your case it can be something blocking the ileocecal valve as its a narrow passage connectng small gut with large one. it can be gall stone, worm, hard piece of feces called fecolith or a growth.
Avatar f tn I had hernia surgery a year ago, not too long after the surgery i realized that it was back. I didn't think anything about it, but the past month I have had really bad pain, worse pain than when I got it fixed the first time. The doctor just used permanent sutures the first time, is there any way that I could have this surgery without having to have the mesh screen put in this time? Also, my abdominal muscles are separated pretty bad, could I ask the general surgeon about diastasis repair?
Avatar m tn which is mostly congenital (since birth, or so i was told in my case, i had the surgery when i was young and its coming back due to high stress from playing soccer and wearing boxers keeping the boys free to bounce around) where your testical cord tends to wrap around it self and ascend the testicle a little close to body or even inside the body causing the same symptoms you mentioned.
Avatar m tn My doctor told me that no surgery is needed, but my symptoms continue to get worse. I cough, belch, and suffer chest pain on a daily basis. Medicine rarely helps my condition. My question to you is: do you suggest that i have surgery to repair my hernia? My doctor does not believe surgery is necessary and i trust him, but i am in discomfort every day. Do you think surgery will help me?
Avatar n tn What if you have had hernia surgery already? Can you do situps then? I had hernia surgery Jan 23 2009 and now I have mesh around my whole abdomen.
Avatar n tn What I gathered is that in a minority of cases the intestines can protude and can cause severe problems if it does not get pushed back in. However, this is rare. There can be mild pain if you have fat sticking through the hernia but this does not cause any serious problems other than discomfort. The surgery is a minor surgery and will help the hernia to not get worse. This type of surgery is common and is not a big deal.
Avatar m tn Within an hour after my auto accident I was diagnosed by CT that I had a hernia in my upper stomach where my surgery (cabg) was 5 months prior. No pain or bulge prior to accident. Is this a result of surgery, the accident or both. I don’t understand how a car accident can cause a hernia.
5829074 tn?1375034908 I had my inguinal hernia surgery 1 week ago. I still have some pain in the scrotum/testicles. But it turned out that a lot of my discomfort, at least in the perineum, was due to hemorrhoids of all things! It turns out that sitting on a donut pillow was making my hemorrhoids a lot worse. It will take a few more weeks to discern whether the hernia surgery will help the remainder of my pain. Thanks again.
1322711 tn?1278415855 Do you have any suggestions? My back pain has returned so I know the back surgery failed and now I have a sausage like painful lump in my lower left abdomen that no doctor can say what it is. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I don't know where else to turn.
