Avatar m tn t stay down and would go back into the groin occasionally, but always came to the normal position. Mesh was put in to prevent that from happening) and I had a hernia repair surgery. My mother asked the doctor if it would affect fertility and they said it shouldn't. Anyways, my question is, if I were infertile, would my wife have gotten pregnant in the first place, even though it ended in a miscarriage? I've been confused a lot lately and wanted to get some opinions.
1716412 tn?1308848033 I have a bulge in my stomach which I think is a hernia. Can I still excersice my mid section to lose the fat I gained over the years or will I be in danger of worsening my condition.
Avatar f tn I have not responded to medications (Prilosec, Protonix, Pepcid, Nexium, Reglan, Baclofen, Trazodone) for GERD, hiatal hernia. It seems like some people go for many years without considering surgery and I have only been trying meds for about 5 months. The symptoms that seem most difficult to control are the cough, hoarseness, heartburn, and feeling like something is stuck in my chest. Bile reflux is also part of the problem since I had my gall bladder removed 30+ years ago. The dr.
Avatar n tn It can be epididymitis or orchitis. In cases of hernia, a prominent bulge along with testicular pain is there and in cases of kidney or ureteric stones, pain during micturition may also be there. You can provide support to the scrotum by wearing an athletic supporter, apply ice to the scrotum, take warm baths if there are signs of inflammation, while lying down, place a rolled towel under your scrotum or try over-the-counter pain relievers, like acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
Avatar m tn Sometimes, post inguinal hernia repair there are new sensations (such as a tight feeling upon ejaculation) probably a result of scar tissue in the inguinal canal. But most men eventually lose those sensations and in some cases it is several years before that happens. I'd give it some more time. You probably had a more invasive than usual repair and more scar tissue than usual, but I can't say. The impotence thing is unlikely related in any way to the surgery.

Avatar m tn I made an appointment with a urologist. After having hernia repair surgery one year ago, I am concerned about changes to my body. I'm asking for a thorough checkup and hoping to discuss my concerns. I decided to bypass my GP because I want to speak to someone who is knowledgeable about these specific issues. Am I right in my thinking? What should I say/expect from the urologist?
Avatar f tn There's a video online where 2 men experience what contractions feel like. Its hilarious! Men definitely cant handle what we can. After watching me give birth, my husband has a new respect for women.
Avatar n tn Hello, Testicular pain can be due to injury, infection (Epididymitis or Orchitis) or inflammation, testicular torsion( most common in young men), excessive bicycle riding, hernia, varicocele or kidney or ureteric stones. As there is no swelling or inflammation or redness of the scrotal sacs, so the chances of epidiymitis or orchitis are rare.
943760 tn?1318604430 I very much would like to have things repaired and getting rid of the suprapubic catheter however having had a hernia prepair, further surgery might also result in other problems. Currently, I have not been able to engage into any sexual activity since I was diagnosed with the fistula in 2008. The catheter will be in the way during sexual intercourse even given the fact that the catheter is not in the penis but in between the penis and navel. Still the movement of the catheter does cause pain.
1253246 tn?1332073310 You probably do not have acid reflux if you have hiatal hernia-even a small one. And this would be enough to cause your symptoms. It is the obstruction of the lower esophageal valve into the stomach that is causing all your problems. Just look up" hiatal hernia self massage video" and that should help you with this. For further help to eliminate the hiatal hernia you can see a Chiropractor who is familiar with this. No need for surgery or medications!
Avatar f tn So my man is mad at me cuz I was upset he played video games ALL day instead of going to see fireworks and enjoying the 4th with our son. Why are men so stupid! I'm about to throw that game system out the window.

Avatar n tn My wife has problems with the size of my penis saying it is too short. She states that it is so short that it is very difficult to penetrate. She states that the positions we have to use to penetrate are painful (she has many problems with pain........a compression fracture in her back, a fractured femur and hip a year and a half ago.) I had surgery two years ago for a belly button hernia and am wondering if my surgery has anything to do with this problem. I am also slightly overweight.
Avatar m tn Common symptoms of this condition are pain or discomfort in groin, especially when bending over, dragging sensation over the groin. Ocassionally, in men pain and swelling in the scrotum around testicles can occur due to descent of the protruding intestine into the scrotum. This can cause intestinal obstruction, leading to constipation. The bones (vertebrae) in the back are cushioned by small, spongy discs.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. The common causes for testicular pain are injury, infection and torsion. Injury can cause a tear of the testicular layers or it can cause a hematoma (blood collection). Infection can affect and cause epididymitis or orchitis resulting in pain. Testicular torsion is an emergency as the blood supply may be compromised and needs to be relieved. Sometimes a tumor of the testis can cause pain. Consult your primary care physician for therapy.
Avatar f tn My Gynecologist thinks I have a hernia. I have a CT scheduled for Friday and a follow up on Tuesday to discuss results and the plan. It's looking like, either way, I'm having another surgery. If it's not a hernia and nothing else alarming shows up, they will assume it's scar tissue and likely to a laparscopy to look for and break up scar tissue/adhesions. Anyone out there have a hernia after surgery?
Avatar f tn He has had three lots of surgery one for appendix and the other two were for hernia and I thought that would have given him the idea that I need him I have two other kids 5 years and 4 years old so I don't know how much more i can give for him to understand

Avatar m tn When they scanned her brain just over a year ago they noticed tonsillar descent but had no advice about what to do other than that in severe cases surgery is the best option. More recently she had a repeat scan and they told her it had not become worse over the 12 month between scans which I suppose is good news. But her GP has failed to find a subject-matter-expert so far. The GP himself knows nothing about TOnsillar Descent, other than what he's read since meeting my mother.
